  1. I’ve read some good reviews on the current Vintera PBass Im aware access to truss rod is at the neck heel and the neck is wider Well I have one on the way ( in the sale £799 at GAK ) so Tuesday will be NBD !!
  2. What’s the Vintera PBass like compared to say player series ? Any owners on here ?
  3. I’ve found that my plucking hand technique is at its best when I play with a very light touch and especially with faster playing ( think Iron Maiden ) Got me thinking about how light is too light ? Am I losing anything in tone by not digging in ( from the bass point of view not the amp ) A good indicator is your amp inputs gain led ( or Ashdown VU meter needle ) When I play with the band I do have a tendency of digging in more which I guess is down to volume or desire for more ! Do you guys pluck lightly or more heavy handed ??
  4. I tune in Eb standard on all my basses for the band
  5. Fender Player Series Jazz Bass Candy Apple Red Fender HiMass bridge fitted Black pickguard fitted ( original white one also included ) As new condition Happy to consider a trade for a PBass of similar quality and price Happy to ship in Fender box if buyer arranges courier collection SOLD
  6. Yes for pick playing definitely shape selected ( less mids more bass ) Shape Button pushed in “flat” with fingers is a must unless you wish to be buried with no mids !!
  7. Rehearsal last night and used my ABM600 for a change Found adding more 100hz and less 40hz improved the punch Still a great amp
  8. It’s live music so we all make mistakes especially playing for 2.5hrs I found I always had one or two songs that my mind went blank at certain parts of a song and so I practice those parts more often It’s generally songs that I’m unfamiliar with that trip me up but songs I’ve played for years I generally get them right on the night or enough right that no one notices!! I would try relaxing more as that helps with concentration and best advice is listen to the whole band and not just what you are about to play and in the main it will be better. Feel plays a big part I find and a half decent memory too !! Good luck and I’m sure it will improve
  9. You guys that are gigging that frequently must have very understanding “ better half’s “ !!! Im restricted to around two gigs per month and a weekly rehearsal !!!
  10. Yamaha for me
  11. For me the Fender Original 62 was better than the CS62 I was after better low end definition and clarity and this worked for me playing finger style with my Player Series P I tried the CS62 but found it too dark
  12. Two purchases from them this month and both time’s perfect service and good comms Happy to use them
  13. Lovely Player Series Jazz in Candy Apple Red Himass bridge fitted and original pickguard replaced As new condition and nicely setup Decided I’m definitely a PBass guy WITHDRAWN

  14. I’ve discovered the benefits of HPF and LPF in my new Genzler 4 on the floor pedal ( on the drive part ) Really makes a difference in a good way
  15. Star Wing Brewery for us next Saturday from 4:30pm outside gig
  16. Nice result and great sound, loving the pick played Tbird
  17. Probably always on using Gear 1 or 2 into the clean channel on the amp
  18. I’ve just ordered the 4 on the floor to use in front of my Magellan 800 clean channel
  19. Purchased this pedal to run in front of my Magellan 800 head and so far I’m very impressed with it. So much so that where I was losing note clarity when playing finger style this pedal with drive on brings back a bit of grit / snarl or a lot of snarl if that’s your thing ! I’m liking Gear 3 ( SVT ) and with the clean and drive blend volumes this makes a fantastic always on pedal. The star of the show is the HPF and LPF on the drive and that really makes this pedal fantastic. It’s a very pleasant sounding overdrive from very mild to heavy overdrive and the option of leaving your clean volume blended in makes this a star. Highly recommended and as it provides a little compression too from its design I’ve removed my compressor pedal from my board

  20. Just ordered some Fender Heavy Triangle picks I like the smaller standard shape in extra heavy but found I didn’t hold them as well as a typical triangle pick Dropped a gauge to heavy as they are triangles
  21. Mine is facing up in the Levy pouch and then I run it under my strap then into bass Jack. Hardly any slack to worry about I’m using a 75cm long lead so slighter shorter than the 90cm stock one I believe
  22. Yes that’s so true and valid. Elton hasn’t enquired but there is still time ! I think location is playing a part too We are in a great location to find a tractor driver or farmer but the Wurzels etc isn’t our aim !! We will find someone but it’s definitely harder these days for these old bloke bands !
  23. Wise words .. thank you Yes it’s looking unlikely a female replacement is going to be found and we need the new singer onboard by Dec latest A male singer is more likely to be found around our parts so we will see what the next few months produce
  24. Not used the headphone out but they are very quiet without any hiss and the fan is very quiet too
  25. We thought about that but ideally we don’t want to go through this again ( they tend to be here for 3 yrs max ) although for the right singer we would consider it perhaps
