  1. I’ve just ordered the EBS BS ultimate pedal to try and I’m liking the reviews etc It does have some great features too Whats the compressor like as I could take my Ampeg Opto comp off if it’s ok ??
  2. Well .. I tried adding my Spark Booster up front and it did add a certain something! Might try that
  3. Yep I’m thinking of trying 7250m nickel plated strings next
  4. Sadly the Ampeg has no Attack control so it’s fixed I guess
  5. I have the Ampeg Opto Comp Do you suggest a fast or slow release ?
  6. I don’t think low action and fret clank is what I’m seeking as I try and avoid that. I can probably get 80% there to my perfect tone with fingers yet I miss the attack and clarity Pick playing again 80% there and I love the tone and attack and with EQ I can make it close to finger tone in depth but it’s without the soft pillowy fundamental note so that’s a result… But I don’t get that finger on string connection that seems to be what I’m after if I can eek out the tone. Pbass Fender 7150m 45-105 tuned Eb Ashdown ABM600
  7. Well 90% of our set is right with a pick or fingers so that’s my dilemma. I can play both equally well but and this is the reason for me liking finger style is I feel more connected when not using a pick.
  8. I’m revisiting my choice of fingerstyle or pick ! My fingerstyle style tone with roundwounds is best described as soft and warm with very little attack to the note ( opposite of my pick playing tone ) Im trying adding EQ boosts to the mids and this is helping, Any other tips to get a more snappy punchy tone using the digits ? This is for rock and we play in Eb tuning with Fender 7150m pure nickel strings ( perhaps considering 7250m nickel plated ) ? Tried stainless RW but didn’t like the harsh tone
  9. And a pick playing bassist .. Yay !!
  10. Still for sale ? Any pictures?
  11. Yep my Harley Bento has an AC link output which is for adding other AC mains devices
  12. Ok pouches .. Neotech vs Levy’s MM4 Personally the Levy’s is better at staying put on the strap so the Neotech is my storage pouch for the transmitter while in the gig bag Neotech does have the top strap to hold the transmitter in place but the Levy’s MM4 is a snug fit ( I use mine facing up not down )
  13. As simple as it gets ( for me )
  14. Definitely a great product .. I’m well impressed
  15. I don’t think the low cost units scan at all and only “ pair” and stay at a fixed frequency
  16. I’ve used Boss and Lekato and briefly Harley Benton and they all worked and some better than others The Shure unit in my opinion is high priced but you get a very robust receiver with excellent tuner and dual band ( best part ) The transmitter is also very robust with replacement batteries when required. I think it’s worth it and one less thing to worry about in terms of quality.
  17. First gig with the Shure GLXD16+ and it worked perfectly. Soundcheck out front .. perfect Limited space at venue to move much but no leads to stand on or singer to trip over !! Sound quality spot on Did a channel scan at setup and it chose 1D Do you guys channel scan each gig ?
  18. Yep I’m the same .. more sound on stage and PA for vocals plus kick drum
  19. So wireless users … do any of you here use your transmitter pouch fitted to your trouser belt ? I had the Levy MM4 arrive today and like a holster it fits nicely on your trouser belt and sits away from your body nicely. This feels better than the lump on the back of your strap method but I can see advantages of either method
  20. The ToneHammer amps input gain isn’t like other amps. In fact you can turn it fully anti-clockwise and still get signal. Mine if turned to 3 o’clock starts to clip and very occasionally the red clip light comes on. I run mine around 12 o’clock and it’s a warm clean tone and I then run the drive about the same ( still clean ) Fantastic amps when you discover how to drive them
  21. Nope .. for me I will never need flats !! But I’m glad I tried them just to see what all the fuss was about 😉
  22. I tried flats on my PBass and didn’t like them at all. Sounded ok ( not as good as RW in my opinion) but I just didn’t like the smoothness of them from a plucking hand point
  23. I don’t think I would play the bass unless I could be in a band !! I say decide what music you like and find a band that plays mostly that genre etc and go for it
  24. Ok GLXD16 + users How do you know you are working on 2.4 and 5.8ghz at the same time ? The default is Band ( both )
