  1. And … can you actually look like you’re enjoying it instead of standing like you’re set in concrete as you read the lyrics 🎤😂😳😂
  2. Ha ha .. anyway .. back to chatting with the adults on here We have found some potential 👍🤟
  3. This post of mine seems to have stirred up an unnecessary hornets nest !! The good news is we have three contenders for auditions now and we hope to find a good one amongst them Time to Chill guys😂
  4. I can add to this .. Many female singers do not grasp what rock is as a genre ! Many think Adele or Amy Winehouse is rock !! It’s a wide genre for sure but if you say rock to most male singers they have more likely a grasp of the bands this would include. Not always the case and our current female singer ( from the USA ) is awesome and knows exactly what rock is. The hunt continues
  5. 3 x amps Ashdown ABM600 TE ELF Aguilar ToneHammer 700
  6. Blackpool is a big place !!
  7. We may revisit this problem and find a male vocalist instead Female rock singers of any quality are extremely rare these days The fun of running a band !!
  8. Yes 100% this !! My pet hate is singers standing behind music stands with the words while they read the song and make an emotionless attempt at singing !! Or you tell them you are a rock band and then they ask if you cover Adele or Amy Winehouse lol 😂
  9. Our band has the challenge of finding a new female rock singer for early 2024 OMG how difficult it is with female vocalists and rock ! Applicants so far .. can’t drive, or sung to backing tracks while stiff and expressionless behind a mic, or wants it to make a living or too far away We are based in the derrière end of nowhere called Suffolk / Norfolk and it seems good singer’s especially female are the rarest of finds !! We may have to change plans and get a guy instead !
  10. I went to look at a new stock ABM115H cab in the local PMT store but when I saw it ( clearly a display version ) it was scuffed and even to tolex was ripped. They offered to allow me to take it home and try it which I did but then I returned it and purchased something else. So very helpful but it’s more like a secondhand trader than a new goods outlet
  11. Well … my Jazz Bass is now my number 1 choice !! Yes my PBass is still great but I’m liking the result with the Jazz especially since switching to a Pick
  12. Great band … saw them in Norwich couple of years back
  13. I’ve had many poor “ new” condition products from PMT over the years and vowed to stop using them however I did visit a store and buy my Jazz bass from them. If you see how a typical store is being run it’s no surprise goods cone out not as they should. Part of this is the online returns world we live in and the other is lack of investment in decent paid staff who are trained in customer service etc. Clearly that grubby bass was never inspected before sending out ? Shame on you PMT
  14. My first new combo was the Rumble 100 which died 24hrs later ! Returned and purchased the Ampeg BA110 instead which is still going strong I did try out the V3 cabs and they seemed ok but not so sure how robust they would be at high band volume
  15. I think it applies to the Embassy Pro which is no longer made ??
  16. I’m particularly liking both pups on full and played with a pick
  17. How do these basses compare to say a Jazz bass ? Pick playing for rock … worth a punt or a waste of money !!!
  18. Ok update … having found the Lekato adding a tiny bit of distortion I’ve stopped using them. Enter Boss WL-50 and although it’s half of the WL-20 I really like it so far. What I’ve learnt is switch your mob to Airplane mode if near your amp and for practical use stay within 10-15m with clear line of site it works just fine without any signal degradation The bonus of cable input on the receiver was the feature that decided it for me, cable sat near rig will suffice as backup. I was finding my guitar leads were twisting, constantly under my feet and on occasion stood on nearly yanking at the Jack so wireless is worth it I feel. I can’t justify £500+ on Shure so Boss will do for me
  19. I too wasn’t keen on the look of the Fender Jazz body shape but when playing it’s not an issue. In fact its versatility makes up for it I think
  20. Yes I agree but mine’s permanently on so it doesn’t matter in my application
  21. Naturally it depends on the amp you’re using it with My Ashdown and Aguilar both have bass at 40hz so I can accept not having it on the MXR
  22. I like the MXR 6 band .. I think you purchased yours after my glowing report. For me it gives me the extra EQ points that most amps don’t so I can set it for the best sound live. I now only play with a pick either my Jazz or PBass but never both during the same gig. I have my preferred MXR EQ settings saved as an image on my phone so easy to set up if sliders get moved I think anything more complicated for me would result in constant tweaking etc
  23. I seldom play any song exactly as written.
