    We do the same song ( female singer ) but we reversed it in as much our guitarist starts it off and I come in where the bass part starts. It sounds really full sounding that way and easier too !!

    Yes I’m trying to hot rod my Jazz to make it more like my other two PBass guitars but with a bit more clarity when required from the bridge pup

    Interesting topic and some parallels to the amp I think in particular how the drive alters the tone / EQ

    Depends on which cab … the ported ABM series are dark sounding or vintage sounding and without finesse but do their job very well. The sealed Neo cabs are less bass focused and tighter sounding They are decent sounding cabs and average in the efficiency ratings

    I ordered the WL-50 and found it had a tiny bit of distortion in the signal so I sent it back. Shame as a cheap unit it looked promising It was with a passive PBass I gave the WL-80 2.4 ghz model and that seems ok I guess the QA is hit and miss with the low end units

    Anyone tried / using the Dimarzio J Pup DP123 set in their Fender Jazz ? Im looking for a bit more depth and grunt to my Jazz and these seem a decent upgrade to the stock Player series pups

    That’s an amazing bargain for a superb amp I can vouch for the loudness of these heads as I gigged the same head with my SVT212AV cab in a loud rock band. Great amps and for £500 it’s a bargain

    Ok folks .. so I tried a set of Elites Stadium stainless rounds 45-105 in my PBass and they were terrible !! Too harsh and too many overtones I’m back with Fender 7250m NP strings ( stock on most Fenders ) and I’m ok with them .. I have tried also Fender 7150 Pure Nickel in 45-100 ( higher tension than NP strings ) and very nice but less mids and warmer sound.

    I guess they must have less tension as I use std 45-105 gauge from other brands and they work well at Eb tuning

    I tried Hi Beams but it seems they don’t like Eb tuning ?? Took them off and sold them

    Ok folks who is using stainless RW on their PBass and which brand ? Why use stainless instead of Nickel or Nickel plated ?? Tempted to try some on my bass Player Series PBass for playing fingerstyle rock

    I agree, when first try them it’s a shock to how rough they feel however that tends to lessen over time and of course over time they lose their zing But there are many Pros who still choose to use them so they must be decent enough. At the moment I like them and tempted to try some or my Elites S/S on my PBass

    Had the PF800 but nothing close to the SGT tones Underpowered too for claimed 800w

    Cab sim only relates to the Di output and can be off or two sets of three cab choices. Ultra Lo can be cut, off or On and Ultra High is off or on

    My ToneHammer 700 also runs at 2.67ohms load .. I wish more amps did this s it’s very useful at times

    Yep they are rougher than Nickel or Nickel Plated but in time this reduces and your fingers toughen more ! I like the extra sense of grip when you pluck with fingerstyle as it seems to speed up the note attack ?? !! Regarding pick … used it but then flipped back to fingers and I preferred the result. Good match of strings to bass I think

    I use the Ampeg SVT212AV 4ohm 600w cab ( amazing ) and added the SVT112AV ( 8 ohm ) as this results in 2.67 ohms total which I believe the Magellan 800 can handle I use the TH700 like this and very pleased with the depth and fullness of the sound. Very robust cabs

    I had several guitar lessons when I was younger before swopping to bass. I was a better bass player I guess but I just enjoyed it more. I took my guitar theory and applied it to the bass and went from there. I don’t even own a guitar anymore!

    Just put a set of Rotosound RS66LD strings on the Jazz Player and played with a pick it sounds amazing ( front pup only ) Im liking this sound a lot … anyone using RS66 strings on a Jazz and playing it with a pick ?

    I did hear Ashdown had a few CTM100 made in China … and all are now made in the U.K. They are great amps and like most regret selling them. GLWYS
