  1. So … it sounds better with MV fully open and gain to adjust level At rehearsals last night I was running the MV full and gain around 12 o clock Sounded great 👍
  2. At home ( sensible volume ) I can run the gain at 3 o clock and master at 7 o clock and it’s a lovely tone Will try at rehearsals tonight running high input gain and less MV compared to MV open fully ( last weeks method ) Band said it was the best tone I’ve ever had however in addition to the V4 I was using my Stingray and playing with a pick !!! We were playing Led Zeppelin !!
  3. Curious how other V4B amp users run their gain and Master Volume ? Sone say master volume wide open and others set gain and adjust MV to suit requirements?
  4. Thanks … The LBT is a cleaner sounding Orange amp with a warmth to its tone. Suitable for most genres I think and a loud 500w head too
  5. Decided to put mine up for sale on here ( I have three amps and one must go ) Virtually unused as purchased as a backup amp
  6. Orange Little Bass Thing 500w amp Virtually as new and hardly used as purchased as a backup amp. Comes with Orange padded bag Orginal Orange box included Price includes shipping to U.K. address PayPal Gift or bank transfer SOLD
  7. Give Paul a ring ( great bloke )
  8. That’s my preference the ported “ compact” non Neo cabs They seem to handle more lows and volume compared to the Pro Neo versions ( sealed )
  9. Korg Pitchblack Advance Tuner Boxed Virtually as new and hardly used Price includes U.K. postage PayPal Gift NOW SOLD
  10. Further tone updates Im finding it sounds nicer with the input gain up high and use the master volume for final level It keeps sounding better an better every time I play it It’s a very nice tone that’s beyond doubt
  11. Decided to stop using a compressor now I’ve got a tube amp
  12. MXR M87 Bass compressor pedal As new condition with Box Purchased back in May this year and used twice with my Ashdown rig but since getting my all valve head I don’t need it Price includes shipping to U.K. address Paypal Gift SOLD
  13. That’s most odd .. sounds like a Jack fault perhaps ?
  14. Check the battery perhaps ? Although mine ( new bass ) was a good 9V so it should be ok
  15. They have a simplicity to the EQ and it just works. Probably the wrong amp for jazz or other genres but for rock it’s perfect
  16. Yes and for rock I find it sounds really good especially when pushed !
  17. It sounds great with my Ray34 but wow really good with my Dimarzio P loaded PBass !!
  18. Yes the compressor added nothing !! Although the compressor works really well in front of the ABM600 I do like the sensible +2db boost with the Ultra Low ( doesn’t make it boomy and you can add lots of 800hz mids ) Gives it a fuller sound in my opinion
  19. After recently purchasing this from my fellow basschatter I used the V4B at rehearsals. My concerns about how loud were soon dismissed, these heads for 100W are loud. Its an excellent match to the SVT212AV cab and has a great Ampeg growl / grind tone. The EQ is very easy to work with and I found it was better not using my compression pedal instead go straight in with my bass. Last night I used my Ray34 and the band said it was by far the best sound they had heard from me. Naturally I’m super pleased about this and I suspect this will be my small to medium venue rig and use my ABM600 rig for larger or outside gigs. I ran the master fully open last night on the V4B and used the gain control for volume, sounded great. Tried it today and I think I prefer the master as required and use the gain set around 3pm Also found today I like the Ultra Low ON ( it only boosts the bass a bit and reduces 500hz) but I turn the bass control down a little and crank the 800hz control. This seems to be a sweet spot for the amp, will see how it sounds next week when played louder with the band. Anyone who likes a great rock sound for small to medium sized gigs I can recommend this amp and cab. Better than my ABM600 ( nope ) just different in feel and tone.
