  1. Added the Elf today as a backup amp It’s a amazing little amp, lovely tone and very loud for such a small amp I like it
  2. Just ordered the Elf from PMT Will be a handy backup head I think
  3. Thanks for the advice I think I will seek out a new Elf ( for warranty ) and order one soon
  4. I was thinking along the same lines such as a new TE Elf purely as a back up. I know it would struggle but it would provide the Di too and give a bit more tone control I had the Sansamp bass driver but sent it back, preferring my CTM100 without it so for £250 I could buy a small amp !
  5. What’s sufficient for a backup to live gigging and any amp failures ? 1: Passive Di box ready to put into PA 2: Small 200w amp and Di into PA Out bands PA is 1000w with subs so I think a passive Di box would get me through a gig perhaps ?
  6. Yep very pleased with my ABM600 Great amps
  7. Boss TU3 Tuner Pedal Excellent Condition Price includes U.K. shipping NOW SOLD
  8. So .. first gig tonight with the CTM100 rig Amazing sound / tone Ran the master vol on full and gain control for overall volume Deep and Shift engaged Plenty of volume to spare 100w valve amp with a huge sound Well done Ashdown
  9. Yes I’m tempted to get a 610 cab !
  10. Apparently the correct way is to max out the master volume and adjust the gain control for overall volume This was the advice from the guy who designed it 👍
  11. Everything to 11 lol 😂 Accept the new dials go to 20 now !!
  12. I find if you put all the tone shift buttons in Mellow, Deep, Shift, Bright it makes it louder ! At the moment I prefer Deep in Shift in, bright and mellow out I play with a pick so that EQ seems to balance about right Bass on 3 o clock , mids 12 o clock and treble on 9 o clock Might try all buttons in and all tone knobs at 12 o clock to see what that sounds like
  13. How do you set your EQ and MV / Gain ?
  14. Same EQ but using the various switches I find the EQ controls ok I prefer to run my master on full and gain control for overall volume
  15. I can cope with the weight as it’s only about 6 kilos heavier than my ABM600 Not sure how folk get on with the CTM 300
  16. Did you gig with it ? Did you lack any volume?
  17. Yes tried the TB v2 head and didn’t like it. Very dark sounding with limited EQ options ( sent it back ) the LBT is far nicer for most sounds
  18. Thought I would start a post in praise of the Ashdown CTM range of tube amps Interested in favourite settings and if you gig it and which cabs etc ? Here’s mine and it’s the best sounding amp I’ve ever played and impressive how loud 100w can go in a band situation
  19. It’s probably like the Ashdown ABM600 where you still need a dummy input inserted into the amp input ( I use a Jack converter ) Some amps defeat any signal without the input Jack in place
  20. Havnt played both but owned the LBT for a while Very nice amps and most unlike the regular Orange range of bass amps Loud and tube like if you increase the compression Good price and clear workable tone
  21. The new look is only cosmetic so the same internals and design. The EQ is basic but when you learn how it responds with the Mellow, Deep, Shift, Bright etc it really suits the amp and the tone At volume it’s more of a rock amp I think and it has such a lovely tone
  22. Ok I can personally state it’s a loud amp ( purchased one this week ) Running it with two 210 cabs it’s loud enough for my rock covers band Naturally it’s pushing it but that’s the beauty of valve amps in as much as they sound better cranked So if sitting on the fence I recommend it as a great amp ( best Ive played through )
  23. Is 100w still classed as low ?? Here you go CTM100 ( new 2022 version )
  24. I believe the better way is to run the master volume fully cranked and use the gain for overall level It’s the reverse of solid state amps but gets the most out of the power tubes I believe
  25. Tried it at rehearsals tonight and it’s a great sounding amp that just has that lovely valve tone and feel. It was fairly cranked up but it worked just perfectly.
