  1. My Ampeg SVT CL 300w head was perceivably louder than my ABM600 head. Ive always thought the V4B 100w head would be nice but I fear it hasn’t got the volume for a very loud rock band ( not using PA )
  2. Anyone got a RM414 they don’t want ?
  3. I’m interested in this Would a 100w tube amp be as loud as my ABM600 using the same cab ?
  4. There’s a bargain ABM1200 for sale at PMT at the moment

    Cab moving

Just had the hand trolley arrive and I’m impressed to how it is. Very strong but light and folds down really small Good sized wheels for gravel drives etc and makes moving heavy cabs a breeze. Ideally you need to use a strap to keep the load from moving but I think this is worth the investment
  6. I keep looking out for the ABM410H cab to come up locally for a good price !
  7. I think it would do a fine job. It has an authority to its sound ( strong sounding punch ) Probably not as deep as a large 15” cab but for a good all round cab it’s very nice. It also has a decent tweeter on it for adding a little zing which can be on high low or off. Finally it’s a lovely looking cab I would imagine two of these would be a huge sound. I play with a loud heavy hitting drummer and a guitarist using a 4x12 Marshall and 50w valve head. We are loud without PA support ( old school rock band ) and it works
  8. It’s a decent bag and works well enough.
  9. I use the SVT212AV cab with my ABM600 head in a loud rock band Superb cab and very loud and punchy Highly recommended as a single use cab
  10. I have my Roksak large bag still but don’t use it anymore and did consider selling it but for £34 delivered it didn’t seem worth it .. are you near Suffolk ? I had my RM800 in it

    Cab moving

My Ampeg Svt212av cab weighs 30kg approx ( twice the weight of my old Ashdown ProNeo cabs ) The sound I can get with this one cab makes the heavy lifting worth it I can lift and walk with this cab for a sensible distance .. boot of car to rehearsal hall and back to house etc but in the event it’s further I think the £65 barrow will be well worth the price and I get the sound I prefer too

    Cab moving

Lifting isn’t a problem for me but carrying my cab across a car park etc is hard going hence the trolley. Stairs makes it harder at venues but we can handle those ! I just don’t like screwing castors to the bottom of cabs so that plans out. Tried a “ dolly” but terrible over gravel etc etc I would much prefer to haul a heavy great sounding rig compared to a lightweight rig that lacks the desired punch and volume
  13. I found the same and I also missed the rougher string surface when playing faster stuff ( from a plucking / picking point of view ) Im liking the RS66LD strings on my rehearsal bass they do really sound growly
  14. In this age of wanting light cabs there are some that still like the heavier bulky cabs of the past ! Just ordered this to move around any of my bands heavy gear ( PA cabs) my bass cab etc etc

    Cab Riser

So added four feet to the 210H cab using the same corner protector screw holes ABM600 head fits on it nicely
  16. Ok so had rehearsals and the single 210h cab did it’s job but I’m going to try flipping it on its side ( both speakers vertical ) to see if it’s better for hearing it.
  17. I had the Zilla FatBaby guitar cab and it was superb Paul is a great guy and very helpful

    Cab Riser

Have you tried this with the ABM cabs ? I see the ABM600 head will fit and I might try it next rehearsal I guess it will be a few inches taller so might help
  19. A Fender Rumble cab and head is the other way to go

    Cab Riser

That’s very smart and nicely done
  21. Another interesting point is my 210H cab is rated to 500w not 300w as the current version ( mine looks the same though )
  22. Hi .. the reviews for the Rumble are very good so I’m sure this would do the job assuming the band isn’t too loud ! I play in a band playing loud rock and use a 600w head and 212 cab but my cab allows all the amp power to be used I think the Rumble needs an extension cab to get the full 500w out of it but they do claim to be loud combos so it may be ok Ive tried just the cabs and they are pretty decent and light in weight Someone is selling one on this site for £400 I believe
  23. My Orange Little Bass Thing 500w head is very loud so I can imagine a 1000w head must be extreme !
