  1. I found when I tried flats I just didn’t like the smooth string sensation from my plucking / picking hand point I guess years of RW and that string feedback is hard to brake Enjoy the bass either way as I’m sure it’s lovely
  2. Lovely looking bass Lozz Are you going to stick S/S RW on it ?
  3. Those Rotosound RS66LD are amazing for rock I think Great growly punchy sound and feel good and I’m liking the 45-105 set
  4. Yes my first thoughts are Rotosound are brighter and more aggressive sounding but Elixir are smoother under the fingers Also I’m back to 45-105 sets and in the case of the Elixir 85 and 105 and 80 and 105 for the Rotosound
  5. I’ve just popped a set on my PBass Will see how they sound with the band On my other PBass I’m trying Rotosound 66 strings
  6. I’m quite liking the single 210H at the moment and will see if it’s loud enough for rehearsals
  7. Loud enough to gig with in a loud rock band ?
  8. Just got myself the Ashdown ABM210H 500w cab The current models are 300w I believe With my ABM600 head it’s a lovely sounding cab, might add a second cab ? They are heavier than the Pro Neo sealed cabs but they sound very good
  9. My first ever band pic ( first gig ) Rock originals band Westone Thunder 1a black bass and Marshall bass rig Still wear a sweat band but on plucking hand now circa 1990 ??
  10. I found them ok for some styles but didn’t work for me in rock. I know everyone says Steve Harris uses them but I prefer RW strings and about to try Rotosound 66 stainless on one bass and Elixir stainless on the other
  11. I just didn’t like the smooth feel of them under my plucking hand

    Cab Riser

A solution ( expensive ) but I’m thinking of a wooden covered base in rubber feet say 24” wide and 12” high strong enough to take 40kg of weight

    Cab Riser

I’m sure there is a market for single cab / head users Maybe a Basschat Cab Lifter mk1 could be built ? As mentioned I would be happy to pay for a nicely made / covered version

    Cab Riser

    That’s a good idea Bill
  15. Trust me you will be impressed how good they sound especially when pushed ! Very full sounding and punchy cab that works well on its own in a band
  16. Anyone using these on a PBass for rock ? How do they sound compared to nickel RW Do they last longer to justify the price ?

    Cab Riser

Unless you rock a single cab !

    Cab Riser

Yes like that but not tilted back ( head would fall off )
  19. I’m surprised that you cannot buy a bass cab riser ( think nicer beer crate ) as it would be popular in getting cabs raised so you can hear better A nice black tolex unit with rubber feet say 12” tall would make all the difference. Anyone fancy making me one !! For a good price of course !!
  20. I agree they are a fantastic bunch. I really like my ABM600 amp
  21. Anyone got the ABM210H cab ( current model ) they fancy selling ?
  22. I run my ABM600 into a single SVT212AV cab in a loud rock band Trust me you will only need one cab as they are very loud and easily heard Best cab I’ve used and as good as my old Ampeg 610 without the weight Superb Cab and pairs really well with the Ashdown
  23. I have this cab and it’s a fantastic standalone cab
  24. Is it the current model ( front ported )
