  1. Any one gigging just a 210 Ashdown cab ?
  2. He said the same to me about my sealed Pro Neo cabs or upgrade the actual speakers ! I had two cabs so that’s an expensive upgrade ! I think the ported 210H cabs are fairly decent sounding
  3. Absolutely spot on … Ive spent ages adjusting my amp setup at home and taken it to band practice and it doesn’t sound right. Example I love pick playing for the rock stuff we cover but as soon as the band plays my bass tone gets swallowed up by the drums and guitar. Play with fingers and full sound with depth returns filling the room.
  4. And we then plug straight into a good amp, fresh strings on the trusty bass and the room acoustics are favourable and the Marshall stacks are tamed and you then feel like your bass tone is perfect !
  5. I might upgrade the speakers to Eminence Legend 200w speakers and make it a 4 ohm single use cab
  6. Seems to me many of us are always experimenting and seeking tone improvements where perhaps none were needed ! What have you done that has changed for the better your tone and you have stopped looking ! Maybe an amp or cab or strings or effects or simply technique changes from pick to fingers or fingers to pick Naturally it’s fun changing and trying gear which makes it part of the hobby but I suspect we have all gone round in circles many times and realise we had the ideal sound after all !
  7. Thanks .. I’m swopping my MarkBass cab with a buddy who has the ABM cab. Might even add a second for a stack if I like how it sounds
  8. That’s a bargain Shame it’s other side of the Country as I would take it !
  9. Interested in what folks think about the current Ashdown ABM210H Compact bass cab ? Not the Pro Neo but the traditional two tens side by side model One cab loud enough for rock band rehearsals?
  10. Another vote for Ashdown Orange too Little Bass Thing head
  11. Mark Bass 151HR cab 400w 8 ohms Made in Italy As new condition with cover SOLD Collection from Suffolk/ Norfolk border or meet sensible distance away ( ask )
  12. As the OP and also the owner of a great single cab Ampeg SVT212AV I don’t think I will continue looking and be happy to use the one cab for rehearsals and gigs Thanks for the suggestions and good ideas
  13. I gigged the 610 Ampeg for a while and it’s a lovely cab My SVT212AV cab gets pretty close to the sound / volume without the weight !
  14. Also the better ones are made in Italy and the lower cost “ Black line “ I believe are Indonesian built The 151HR as example is one of the higher spec. Italian built cabs
  15. Yes it’s up for sale .. it’s a lovely 15” cab but I need a 410 or similar I think … it’s only for rehearsals as I normally use my Ampeg SVT212AV cab which is really nice
  16. I would buy it if there was a way of getting it to Suffolk ! However on reflection I think I will park my plans for now
  17. Anyone selling a 410 cab in Suffolk / Norfolk ?
  18. Looking for an additional bass cab to use for band rehearsals I currently have the excellent Ampeg SVT212AV cab which I use with my ABM600 head ( huge sound ) Ideally want a good loud but cheap cab as a backup or use at rehearsals etc but to use on its own Ideally a single cab and weight isn’t a major issue but nothing more than a 410 cab etc I play loud heavy rock to pop rock so it needs to be punchy and loud Are the RM410 Ashdown cabs loud ? They are lighter than some I believe Looking at a budget of circa £300 to £400 ideally
  19. I believe on some earlier models the VU didn’t do much The models today show an accurate display of input signal which used in conjunction with using your ears can set the ideal input gain to the amp.
