  1. I wish you well Lozz As you know I packed it all in last year and sold up. Do I miss gigging ? Not at all as I think I’ve had the better years of gigging and it felt sad but very right to retire from it. I now own a couple of nice guitars and an Orange Combo amp and I jam with my old band buddies once a month on a Saturday afternoon! More fun than late night gigging for a few quid ! Im liking being back on the guitar but I do think fondly of playing bass. In your situation perhaps keep your hand in minus the gigs as I’ve done and being with your buddies jamming is as good as any gig in my opinion Wish you luck bud 🎸🤟
  2. I think the ABM series sound at their best when played loud and you have sussed the “ shape “ button Still great amps
  3. Another important point to make perhaps is your height and how good your hearing is or / and your band mates hearing !! As a tall 6ft 1” guy i never struggled to hear my Monaco sat on the deck and I was typically around 6ft away from it when playing. In a band especially loud bands many cabs ( Marshall 4x12 ) are very directional and play havoc with stage volume as a balanced mix if not going through a venue PA as example
  4. Another vote for the Keeley Bassist although I did find a couple from new that had noise issues. Drive pedals .. best I ever used was Darkglass Omicron. Awesome pedal that kept your bass still sounding like a bass !
  5. Just a guess but does the V7 have a headphone switch ? I recall Ashdown did this as well and it mutes the main speaker out ! Just a thought
  6. What about one of the Peavey amp heads ? Minimax I think it was called ? I used my ELF into a 2x12 4ohm cab with a loud rock band and it kept up nicely
  7. What I did watch I thought was very lack lustre and poor ( perhaps an age thing ) but with one or two exceptions I felt Glastonbury had sold its soul slightly
  8. I too had a Monaco and it was a great single cab gig rig Highly recommend
  9. Orange LBT is an amazing amp and can get gritty too if you crank the compression Terror Bass also a good choice I’ve never really liked pre amp pedals as i have always had an amp and good cab. Decent pre amp pedals nearly cost the same as a head these days but it’s the cab that’s make the difference
  10. Years back I had a USA PRS Custom which I did gig but started to leave it in its case and played a USA Strat instead for most pub gigs ! With bass I played live every bass I owned
  11. Sounds like you’re sorted and if you need to look again I think the Fender Rumble Combo 500w would be the way to go
  12. That’s pretty much my old rig Amazing amp but be careful as it’s very light ! I stuck four larger rubber feet on the bottom of mine and it never moved It has a great tone from the off and is very loud too. A good match with VK cabs 👍
  13. I was a T900 user and it’s true they are very uncoloured and loud They can offer warm and woolly too using one control to vary the amp sound I too used one with a Vanderkley cab and it was a superb pairing and best I had used .
  14. Boss Katana 100 GEN3 guitar combo As new condition with Boss cover Note this is a GUITAR amp not a bass amp Price includes U.K. courier shipping
  15. Hopefully a sensible price ? Looks good though
  16. I used mine on its own in the floor so I could use the tuner as required Not so sure I would of used mine sat on top of my amp and definitely wouldn’t stick it down but if it must sit on top get those neat anti slip mats and sit that on top of the Ashdown head. You might find Velcro will pull the paint finish off the amp when you remove it
  17. 5 👍 I had this amp and it’s wonderful with the Lfsys Monaco cab
  18. Selling my lovely 2023 Alvarez AG60CE electro Acoustic guitar plus gig bag Like new condition cash on collection Needham Market Suffolk or meet up plus fuel
  19. Selling my lovely 2023 Alvarez AG60CE electro Acoustic guitar plus gig bag Like new condition cash on collection Needham Market Suffolk or meet up plus fuel
  20. I had the CT100 and when you learn the quirky EQ and preset buttons you find an amazing sounding and loud amp Gigged mine several times and loved its tone and thump They feel different too when you pluck a string
  21. I play or have played both in bands and I can get away with some lead solos etc but that’s my limit I’m an excellent rythmn guitarist and I was a half decent rock bassist certainly good enough for all the bands I was part of over a 40yr period. The bass always felt the right instrument for me ( I’m a big tall guy and the bass feels more in proportion to my frame if that makes sense whereas I feel I dwarf a guitar a little ! So I would say the two overlap nicely if you put in the effort on both as they need differing skills and where your place is in a band etc
  22. Ampeg V4B sounds amazing and sensible gigging volume Tried all the hybrid drive type amps and nothing comes close to a full valve amp pushed
  23. If you could ship I would be interested
  24. Best gigging rig I ever had Superb tone and loud for 100w Unfortunately mine sold for closer to half that last year !
