  1. Decided to flip the compressor the other side of the SCR - DI Im only using the compressor as a limiter and I think it works better after the preamp instead of before it Great sounding pedal and liking the Ultra Low with some added mids put back in to balance things nicely
  2. Have you given them a tax reference UTR for the person who registered?
  3. Yet the registration asks for the UTR tax reference for the band or person registering How can that be done where there are four of you ? This isn’t a full time working band
  4. I went to their site and it said you need to register to get paid ?
  5. You need to be self employed with an HMRC UTR I believe ? How can you register if the band isn’t your income source ?
  6. Was offered a gig recently but you must be registered with Event U.K. No thank you !!! It’s ok if you’re a full time working band but for us others who do it for fun and expenses it’s not workable in my opinion ! This was a pub gig
  7. Well I think the issue has been resolved but I disagree the RM series is definitely suitable for home use with fan running ( normally quiet ) My ABM head has a noisier fan but it’s for gigging
  8. Agreed I’ve put it back to RM series only
  9. Great amps
  10. Mine fitted to Pedaltrain Metro 16 As I play with a pick I use Ultra Low in and run my ABM flat It’s my always on sound and I can add a tiny touch of drive using scrambler. The Compressor keeps everything in check so I’m not overdriving the SCR input of the ABM amp input. Note this tone wasn’t achievable using the ABM EQ alone so I’m pleased of the result Still got room to add a pedal tuner before the Opto Compressor but haven’t sorted that yet
  11. Sounds like a good plan. Top tip with the EVO II heads is that often the rear “headphone” button gets pushed in and you get zero sound out to the main speaker ! Happened to me a few times and after an initial panic you realise the switch is engaged for headphones out only ! You will like the EVO II heads My new RM800 last year was around £450 new !!
  12. Yep they do appear to be 8-32 UNC which nearly is a match with an m4 screw, definitely works so threads must be close enough. I think m4 is a common screw thread such as kitchen handle screws etc as example. Ideally you need it to be around 10mm long I’ve now fitted mine using Velcro on to my Pedaltrain Metro, did consider 3M dual lock but that stuff is hard moving pedals again so used 50mm wide Velcro 👍
  13. A search showed they were an imperial screw thread. I had a selection of short metric screws ( m4 ??? ) and the tapped holes are deeper than the rubber feet threads so my longer screws still worked. They appeared to screw in fine so the threads were a close match and after I unscrewed one to try the rubber foot again it screwed in again fine. Give my a day or so and I will check and confirm the threads I used were m4
  14. I didn’t like using Velcro and went over to 3M dual lock but that can be tough pulling pedals off ! Gone back to 2” wide velcro and this holds my Ampeg SCR-Di ( removed rubber feet screws ) and my Ampeg Opto Compressor ( rubber feet removed ) … liking the simplicity of the Velcro and it works fine
  15. I loved my RM800 EVO 2 and only sold it as I went for the ABM 600 head Very loud decent amps and mine was very quiet.
  16. Dave Green is a very helpful and knowledgeable guy
  17. Way louder than it should be
  18. +1 on the Spark Boost Mini
  19. Great bargain and you’ve been lucky The hassle regarding returns ( common these days ) puts me off using anyone outside the U.K.
  20. I’m seeing this too that the cab plays a bigger part of the sound compared to the amp in many cases Now I’m using the Ampeg Preamp pedal In front of my amp which is set flat EQ I think I could use most amps and still sound awesome!
  21. Yep loads but never post - courier I recommend DPD as the shops use them too Parcel2go is a good place to book or go direct to DPD online Make sure you add the insurance just in case Ive always kept the original boxes so that’s easier.
  22. I’m liking my Ampeg Opto Compressor Very natural sounding with a warm vintage vibe. Low price too makes it a winner in my book
  23. I would look for the Ashdown RM300 or RM500 ( better ) The RM500 at 8ohms will give you approx 250W out
  24. Decided to run the compressor in front of the pre amp ( allows easy access to the DI out ) Works well either way in fairness
  25. Ok tried the Ampeg SCR-DI and it’s very nice, I like it. Tried it with Ampeg Opto Compressor in front and after and it sounds better with compressor after especially as I use my compressor to tame the input into the ABM600 Will be fitting on to my Pedaltrain so I’ve removed the rubber feet screws and replaced with flush screws. Hadnt considered the access to the DI connection ( for occasional use perhaps ) so I will space them apart. Dual lock on its way so I can make a good job of it. The tone / EQ ( pretty much as suggested ) sounds very much like Ampeg The depth of sound with Ultra Low in sounds full and good with a pick more so than the Shape ON sound on the ABM head. I can now use both the ABM600 and my Orange LBT and still sound the same !! Highly recommended pedal and less than buying an Ampeg amp !
