    Cab moving

My Ampeg Svt212av cab weighs 30kg approx ( twice the weight of my old Ashdown ProNeo cabs ) The sound I can get with this one cab makes the heavy lifting worth it I can lift and walk with this cab for a sensible distance .. boot of car to rehearsal hall and back to house etc but in the event it’s further I think the £65 barrow will be well worth the price and I get the sound I prefer too

    Cab moving

Lifting isn’t a problem for me but carrying my cab across a car park etc is hard going hence the trolley. Stairs makes it harder at venues but we can handle those ! I just don’t like screwing castors to the bottom of cabs so that plans out. Tried a “ dolly” but terrible over gravel etc etc I would much prefer to haul a heavy great sounding rig compared to a lightweight rig that lacks the desired punch and volume
  3. I found the same and I also missed the rougher string surface when playing faster stuff ( from a plucking / picking point of view ) Im liking the RS66LD strings on my rehearsal bass they do really sound growly
  4. In this age of wanting light cabs there are some that still like the heavier bulky cabs of the past ! Just ordered this to move around any of my bands heavy gear ( PA cabs) my bass cab etc etc

    Cab Riser

So added four feet to the 210H cab using the same corner protector screw holes ABM600 head fits on it nicely
  6. Ok so had rehearsals and the single 210h cab did it’s job but I’m going to try flipping it on its side ( both speakers vertical ) to see if it’s better for hearing it.
  7. I had the Zilla FatBaby guitar cab and it was superb Paul is a great guy and very helpful

    Cab Riser

Have you tried this with the ABM cabs ? I see the ABM600 head will fit and I might try it next rehearsal I guess it will be a few inches taller so might help
  9. A Fender Rumble cab and head is the other way to go

    Cab Riser

That’s very smart and nicely done
  11. Another interesting point is my 210H cab is rated to 500w not 300w as the current version ( mine looks the same though )
  12. Hi .. the reviews for the Rumble are very good so I’m sure this would do the job assuming the band isn’t too loud ! I play in a band playing loud rock and use a 600w head and 212 cab but my cab allows all the amp power to be used I think the Rumble needs an extension cab to get the full 500w out of it but they do claim to be loud combos so it may be ok Ive tried just the cabs and they are pretty decent and light in weight Someone is selling one on this site for £400 I believe
  13. My Orange Little Bass Thing 500w head is very loud so I can imagine a 1000w head must be extreme !
  14. I found when I tried flats I just didn’t like the smooth string sensation from my plucking / picking hand point I guess years of RW and that string feedback is hard to brake Enjoy the bass either way as I’m sure it’s lovely
  15. Lovely looking bass Lozz Are you going to stick S/S RW on it ?
  16. Those Rotosound RS66LD are amazing for rock I think Great growly punchy sound and feel good and I’m liking the 45-105 set
  17. Yes my first thoughts are Rotosound are brighter and more aggressive sounding but Elixir are smoother under the fingers Also I’m back to 45-105 sets and in the case of the Elixir 85 and 105 and 80 and 105 for the Rotosound
  18. I’ve just popped a set on my PBass Will see how they sound with the band On my other PBass I’m trying Rotosound 66 strings
  19. No Elixir uses ?? 😳
  20. I’m quite liking the single 210H at the moment and will see if it’s loud enough for rehearsals
  21. Loud enough to gig with in a loud rock band ?
  22. Just got myself the Ashdown ABM210H 500w cab The current models are 300w I believe With my ABM600 head it’s a lovely sounding cab, might add a second cab ? They are heavier than the Pro Neo sealed cabs but they sound very good
  23. My first ever band pic ( first gig ) Rock originals band Westone Thunder 1a black bass and Marshall bass rig Still wear a sweat band but on plucking hand now circa 1990 ??
