Welcome I see a vein-tap utility pedal. I like that guy.

Find a drummer who you like on youtube, get an amp with headphones out and aux in and play along.

To me, it depends on what you want to get out of it. I never took lessons, because i wasnt really interested in theory or technique. At 30, do you want to do some home recording and get into a band and play for fun or do you want to "master" the instrument. To me, the most imprtant thing is to learn the notes on the fretboard. I learned by making a drawing of a fretboard and remembering it and then using bass tabs to learn songs i liked. Now this was years before the internet so my tabs came from bass magazines. Thats how i learned. Im not jaco, but i can play with almost anyone at a moment's notice and not embarass myself.

And of much more interest to my fellow bass players Andy Rourke plays on this track (I've posted it here before after Andy passed away) You can really hear the difference! Lol.

Now i don't want this come off as self promotion. Im in ireland and we arent planning on coming to the UK anytime soon. So I'll share some tunes. I'm really happy with my bass tone on this one. This is on my homemade SG bass. I built it from scratch. All raw wood! this one is all heavy distorted bass. I believe it's my modded MIA jazz through a moose electronics sledgehammer And this One has some liquid-y bits. Lots of layered bass and heavy bass effects. Even a tiny bass solo. It's not my favourite track, but i love the clean tone. This was probably my graphite necked warmoth P.

Every article about the band they spell either ny first or last name wrong. One article recently got both first and last wrong! This review finally got first and last correctly.

I have actually reached the point where i have no more real GAS. My two boards do exactly what i want, both in different ways. I am considering an HX one just so i can buy something! All i really want now is a beat buddy and an empress paraeq deluxe.

How many drum machines do you have ?
lidl e replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Other Instruments
Interesting. I too dabble in the post-punk with a touch of goth area currently with my band although we are a bit heavier and a little off genre. I don't know if my playing style would allow to play a show without a drummer. We do use clock tracks and backing tracks, which i guess us basically the same thing as drum machine. -
Absolutely ingenious!

How do you get your foot up there?

Replaced a live drummer? What kind of music? I can't imagine playing a rock show without a drummer! They need to make a guita machine! -

I use YouTube! Just search whatever BPM best i want to play with. But i have been thinking about a beat buddy. I cant really justify the price currently, but im sure ill find a way too. I didnt realise so many people had a drum machine Are you all mostlyn using it for recording or practise? -

Why not use bluetooth? I dont have iphone, i use android, but use bluetooth for connecting my C4. However, i have a tc electronic plethora and the bluetooth for the app is terrible, so i bought this and it works a treat. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01LWBRA71?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I assume it will work for a source audio pedal. I can check later. I do see it is currently unavailable unfortunately

Mate, the best. https://www.moosetwentythree.com/shop/nomad Not sure if it's bank breaking or not for you, but it is just a killer pedal. i know at least a few people on here have this exact pedal. maybe @admiralchew and @0175westwood29 Or are you saying you just need to add an octave up after your distortion? If so, you want this fella: https://www.earthquakerdevices.com/tentacle

Why is is so hard to find a decent graphite neck?
lidl e replied to roonjuice's topic in Bass Guitars
Ive got this fella with a moses graphite neck and 2tek bridge. It's my backup. Ive been considering swapping out the bartolini just for a change. -
Ya, just the one line in a bigger review, but I'm chuffed!

I'm liquid and funky! "overall live bass duties are taken care of by band member Ely XXX, whose liquid yet funky and distorted basslines tie together the diverse styles displayed on the record...
