Thats an interesting response and a lot to consider. Ive always put drive first (bar comp) but then ive always ever really only used effects for noise making and soundscape kind of improv shite. For the first time, in any kind of major way im having to use effects tailored to particular songs. I would almost get a plethora x5 just for the insert, but i dont need that big

I want to get a plethora x3, but the lack of effects loop mean i have to put distortion wither before compression or after everything. I deally I'd have comp->dist->eveythingis else. I dont really want to use another compressor as i want to keep this board small. I suppose ill have to do drive before comp.

Finished my build today bar the tugbar which should be here on Monday.

Finally, after weeks of getting parts, painting, paying too much, i finally have my dream P bass! This is i guess a bitsa, but just about every bit is fender. I went with an allparts bridge as i wanted nickel and the body isnt a fender because i hate those crazy swimming pool routs they do! I also did schaller tuners as they were reversible. Tugbar ordered but not here yet. I think it sounds perfect! So pleased! I guess I'll try and get some recordings, but i freeze up when i try and record myself! I do have a build thread here if you want to see what went into this

ANy possible thoughts on building and painting your own? Nitro painting using cans is really rewarding and with a small bit of effort fairly straight forward. I have a bulld thread where i cam currently doing this and it is coming out great. I am using all high end bits so it is a bit more expensive than your budget, but not hugely so and could definitely be done for cheaper. I also much prefer the look and feel of nitro.

Anyone ever use one of these? Was in a random rehearsal space last night and they had ine and i was impressed. Just loud enough and sounde great. A bit bulky for a 2x10 combo though.

Its really hard to justify, but as a fellow gear snob even the placebo of having the MIA label makes a difference (to me). I know it's ridiculous, but it is what it is. That said, i am currently building a bitsa fender and i went with a player neck as i just couldnt justify 2.5x the cost for an MIA neck. It is excellent quality. Very pleased with it, although I just put it on and it is currently in the shop being set up so i havent really played it yet.

Get crazy and get a multi effects heavy on modulation and filters!

Sell them and get something new! Try something analog. I'm 50 and i just got a new custom distortion pedal so i dont think it has anything to do with age!

Im nit really sure what youre saying, but i am currently selling a couple.of basses through a commission sale because the hassle of selling, to me, is almost not worth it. Theyll deal with any issues, be able to reach a far bigger audience, command a higher price and deal with shipping, so the percentage they take is worth it to me.

They were hyping it like it was a new pedal, but it's just a repainted Red Muck. A cool pedal, but a disappointing release from Jam.
