  1. Shielding done. It was a bit tricky making sure everything was connected and the shielding on the pickguard made contact with the body shielding and making sure nothing was peeking out from under the pickguard. The overlap on the pickup route fits perfectly with the shielding on the pickguard. My advice... buy more than you think you need!
  2. What product in amazon is good for that? Just those lttle yellow sticks? Or is there a creme or paste?
  3. I have one and really like it. I'm not very knowledgeable in compressors, but i got the alma and i must say it is amazing. A couple of lads on here have one. The other site is big on them.
  4. I just put a Dimarzio mudbucker in a bass snd i absolutely love it. Great output and killer tone.
  5. Thats exactwhat i was looking at. I do have a TC BH250 that i really like. Im just worried that will tie me in to the TC sound too much. I guess that's the name of the game with multi-fx
  6. No, i know i need to do that, but if that is sorted, it would make that cage in the cavity space i think. Ill probably do the whole backside of it. I think i have enough tape. I wonder if it will badly scratch the finish.
  7. Odd question i know. I prefer analog distortion, but i need a smaller pedalboard that i can bring around if I'm taking public transport. I dont love amp sims. Ive never really explored them tbf, but im not sure i need that functionality.
  8. But surely you dont have to shield the wood. Wouldnt covering the cavities make that cage?
  9. Why are they covering the entire back of the pickguard with shielding? Surely you only need to put it over the cavity bits?
  10. Up close detail shot. Is that a mirror? It is not. That's a bass!
  11. Put your sunglasses on, lads. So shuny it looks blue from the sky refelction! Very happy. Suprr close inspection will reveal some minor scratches but no runs at all, and only very few slight run throughs.
  12. Got it down to matte. Few scratches, but looking good! One very slgiht run through but so slight. Polishing tomorrow i suppose
  13. Just finished 1200 wet sand. Now on to the tolecut 1500 @vinorange
  14. funny you mention that! i was questioning it. I said gotoh because they are gotoh tuners (i believe!!!) it's been many years i had this built. I knew there was gotoh something.
  15. Three weeks is now up! Im taking off the afternoon to sand and polish... If i have any sand throughs, i will cry.
  16. TBH, i didnt look at the link! You make very valid and interesting points though!
  17. 70k would barely pay for promotion for a major release I'd guess. I never noticed your avatar moves!
  18. I have a funny story very related to this. In the 90s i was living in SF. One night i was waiting at a muni stop and i look to my left and there is Stu Hamm with a gigbag over his shoulder (it was an urge bass!) He had just played a gig and was heading home, on the bus, to his rented apartment (we got to chatting and i asked where he was going). He alluded to the fact that he made very little money doing what he was doing. I know it is odd that we had a conversation like that in the middle of the night out of nowhere, but it was like he was telling me it's not all it's cracked up to be. I swear he even hinted it wasnt worth it and was thinking of getting out of it. He just seemed tired and fed up. Now this was before the internet, so I'd assume there are many more options to make money nowadays, but i came away with the feeling he was making like 70K a year bejng one of the world's greatest bassists Absolutely 100% true story. Anyway, takeaway is i dont think he ever made much money. Certainly not millions.
  19. Check this out. Just like yours: This is the company that makes the neck https://robotgraves.com/custom/necks/
  20. i like this one. really solid and it sits on the bass face really well if that makes sense. feels like it should be there.
