I was in a local shop today and asked about this. I can in no way justify the price, but I'd love to try it out.

Yeah, i saw that. He sells the chassis separately, i believe. Knobs onviously not an issue. The guy i asked about is a great effects builder, so he would certainly be able to put it together. It just depends on how much he charges.

I have a 98 MIA jazz bass that is my main. Did a bunch of mods to it though

I bought one for my bitsa build. Need to remove baseplate to install. I dont think it will be an issue

Aye, i already have a natural finish p type bass. Im not mad about natural finishes. This project actually started because i was going to refin this natural one, but it is so awesome i decided just to build another. I have refinished a bass using cans before. It came out great and i wanted to do it again. Believe me, ive added it up! I wouldn't quite be able to get a MIA P, but definitely more than any player series. I went with all high end parts. I was really looking for a MIA lefty neck but couldnt find one anywhere and not sure its worth almost 3x the price of this MiM neck. The only thing i cheaped out in is the HB strap holders i got.

Too true! Literally rainjng right now! On the halfords, i wanted to make sure i got swivel spray heads, and while i could have ordered them separately, i just got what i could quickly and easily. 20 euro a can. Im very used to paying over the odds on kit over here!

And finally, paint! I have all my bits sourced now. Painting will commence once it gets above 12° For what i soent on paint alone, i couldve just bought an HB 1x sanding sealer 1x primer 2x colour (jet black) 2x clear cant wait to get stuck in!

Strictly for playing on my own and practising. I just love the sound and responsiveness. I play in a band and with a bunch of people and i wouldnt want to lug a tube amp around, but in my attic it would be prefect.

Made explicitly for bass though?

@KiOgon loom received! Hopefully paint arrives in shop today. i will need to wait a few weeks for it to warm up to paint. im hoping for completion approx. 8 weeks from this weekend.

I've had three rics over the years. To me, the biggest draw by far of a ric, is their looks. My second bass was a mapleglo ric 4001 that i traded a kramer aluminium neck for when i was 17. I got the ric purely for the looks!
