Ooh, this looks nice. I wonder if i can get a dublin discount... -
I started a similar thread a frw weeks back and thats why i got the ehx
-
EHX switchblade pro. I got one for exactly this and it is killer.

Are fyou fidning it to be usable as a practice amp? Could i run it into a 1x12 at a low volume and get that tube warmth and response? Im definitely interested, but wondering if i ahould save the cash towards something a bit more high end. Any issues with it being a gutar amp? I suppose it doesnt make too much difference into a bass cab?

Im very very impressed with the thomann bags. I have two, the elite and deluxe and rate them both. Good backoack type straps that zip in if youre not using them

So cool. But i feel like it's a guitar amp moreso than a bass amp. -

This is closest to what im looking for http://amplex-amplification.com/?page_id=106 -
Anyone im missing? I know ampeg and ashodwn had some cool looking ones a few years back. That handbox looks killer, but at 1/2 the power would be perfect. Not a hybrid, but actually tube power to drive a 1x12 at home.

Ooof. Expensive. https://www.thomann.de/ie/line6_g50cblrt.htm Looks like shure makes one as well. Again, not long enough. https://www.gear4music.ie/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Shure-WA304-Right-Angle-Instrument-Cable-for-Shure-Wireless-Systems/2ZD3?origin=product-ads&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgOefBhDgARIsAMhqXA414IUgVeNZ8vG5ewA9Y0JXk4BpKv9v2bsHtCbECxsfWiw5HgB9G1YaApNJEALw_wcB

Funnily enough, line6 makes exactly that, but not the length you need. Might have to go with an adapter

Vintage 70's bass guitar - worth getting it fixed?
lidl e replied to dajaphonics's topic in Repairs and Technical
thjs fella or you can do like i did. never used 3d printing before, but these came out great -
Cheers! I searched but missed it i guess! I found a thread where you said you were getting one, but not this thread. I knew there had to be one!

This would be superfluous to my needs, but it really looks cool. I have an FI, but i feel this would fill in some gaps the FI doesn't. Mainly more ambient/droney textures. Does that make sense? I absolutely love the FI, but some of the patches sound a bit "same-y". Samey in the best possible way, but still. I see @Al Krow has one. Al sold me my fantastic mothership 2. Any good?

Years ago i had a washburn AB20(acoustic bass) i defretted myself and filled in with putty. It didnt look great, but it worked. I have another bass i had professionally defretted and that looks and feels killer.

Can you heat them up with a curling iron and tap them out from the side?
-
Cant have a filter based preamp discussion without passinwind! When i first started looking, you answered all my questions.
-
Come on over. You can rock on mine! There are also outboard ones in a pedal enclosure whi h mught wirk better, or at least to try before you buy. @Passinwind makes a cool looking one
-
Real quick and dirty just for an example. 20221115_212015_1.mp4 Sounds a bit shite as its the camera mic. I didnt have exp pedal setup, but you can hear the FI, then i step on the freeze, you can hear how it gets that drone and i can play over it. This is using the midibeam4connect and the switchblade pro giving the dry signal mixed in. I can get a better video in the future. Just happened to be using it last night.

So i used to own a wal, and the thing i really loved aboutnit was the electronics. It never occured to me that there were other vendors making the same style which turned out to be a folter based preamp. I suppose i never made the connection. I figured it was just Wal's thing. So i deep dove into the idea of getting one. Went with the lusithand as they had the dropin plate. JTEX makes a cool looking one out of canada. Woth the lusithand, i went with the single NFP for my jazz as the double you need to rout. It dropped in perfectly and the sound is, to me, perfect. As opposed to preamps which basically just boost your tone, i find this preamp actually helps you dial in a smoothness and thickness otherwise unattainable in an active pre. My recent switch to flats also seems to have really taken to this preamp. In 25years of playing i have never turned up the tone knob past 20-30%. I was easily at 80-90% last night punching through and sounding incredible. I honestly can't believe it.

I put a lusithand NFP preamp in my jazz bass and it really is an amazing piece of kit. Cant find a bad tone. It replaces the usual tone knob with a LPF. Im so impressed with it. I bought it in a whim and i thought i made a mistake as im generally passive only, but i absolutely love it.
