Do note, that the BOD, as an analog pedal, is worth the trade off in tone to some, to lose some functionality a digital pedal like the poly would have. I personally prefer to stack analog pedals because I'm stupid and like to waste money!
-
Very different. The bass octave deluxe is an octave down pedal with teo dofferent "voices" you can blend. The poly has octave up and down (i believe you can select one ortwo octaves each way) and has a fuzz button that sounds killer when you activate it. Also the poly you xan play more than one note at a time, hence the name. It also has an expression pedal. A much more fully featured pedal than the BOd

Wouldnt the capo do your fuzz? I'd go fuzz direct into capo from with compressor in front of fuzz initially.

That is absolutely amazing. Looks perfect.

Delivery day! So i got lucky! Everything seems to be tailored for a 62mm heel including the genuine fender pickguard It's odd in that all the "higher end" builders are only doing 63.5mm neck pockets on their bodies. This genuine fender replacement neck i bought is 62mm and it fits this body like a glove! Very very pleased all around. I took a punt on the body having a 62mm neck pocket and it paid off. Now just waiting for kiogon loom and will pick up the cans for painting.

I was banned from TB in 2003. True story.

Luckily the nut comes with guidemarks for the string slots but not fully grooved for strings so it can be cut for a right hand set. I dont have faith in myaelf to cut it. There will be three things i will ask a local luthier to do for me on this. Cut the nut slots, make drill points for the bridge and possibly a slight rout to the pickup cavity as the pickups i have have a brass baseplate which i know i can remove, but i think i want to keep on. I am hoping for as little work as possible needed for the neck pocket.

No worries, my man! It has arrived and looks great. Body should be arriving this week. I started a build thread for it even! I suppose it will be a souped up player bass

In the classfieds here? I might have seen that in my search. I wanted the bigger headstock though so the reverse aspect is really pronounced!🤪

The final bits for my latest project build have all shipped today, so i figured i would track the progress here. This might be a longish one as i wont be able to paint until it warms up a bit. Received my fender replacement neck a few days ago. Picked up the pure vintage 63 pickups locally. I ordered this body: https://www.musicstore.com/en_IE/EUR/Fame-P-Bass-Body-Alder-Unpainted/art-BAS0009721-000 As far as i can tell it has a 62mm neck pocket, the only reasonably priced body i could find with 62mm and no swimming pool route. Even though one never sees it, i hate those massive fender routs. I ordered schaller nickel BMF tuners which are reversible. Fender neckplate. Allparts vintage nickel bridge. Allparts knobs, strap buttons and shielding tape. Fender string retainer. And fender 13 hole tortoise shell pickguard. To allow it to actually make noise, i ordered a @KiOgon loom. Parts, body and loom all shipped today. Plan is to finish it in jet black nitro using rattle cans. I've done it before and it came out looking excellent, so i am looking forward to trying again. This is what i have so far:

Recommendations for matched mm/j and pre amp please
lidl e replied to Waddycall's topic in Accessories and Misc
They arent matched per se, but i have a bartolini J/MM setup in two basses, one passive and one with a bartolini preamp and they both sound amazing. -
I think, and i hope I'm correct, it is because they are 62mm rather than 63.5 wide. The few reviews i have found are all excellent. Fingers crossed. I think i will definitely be able to work with it, question is how much prep will be needed.

Maybe see if you can buy an HH scratchplate and use it as a template? Are you trying to make your own scrathcplate? I have a good MM dimensions drawing if you need it.
-
All these basses you are posting, do you keep them all, or buy to check out and sell on? How many are you holding currently? Do you have one above all?
-
Would you not grab a small headphone amp so you can listen to yourself plugged in? (Ah the alien is their acoustic one!) I remember back in the day when i had no amp available i would butt the bass up against the wall and amplify it like that! What was your live rig when you were playing a lot?
-
Yeah, i went ahead and ordered the body. I got an unfinished one though I spoke to a fella on reddit who has one and he said the pocket was 62mm, which if true is perfect! If it's a bit too big and there is a gap, i can put a shim on the side. Or hopefully the scratchplate will cover it.

They must be using an incorrect number there. That is the exact size of a fender guitar heel. This one says 62.8 https://www.musicstore.com/en_IE/EUR/Fame-Neck-JB-Style-MN/art-BAS0011816-000
