  1. Now don't take this as a commentary of the quality of Tribal Tech, but i just put it on and my cat ran out of the room. I know them. i kknow the lads more individually as players from reading guitar magazines back in the day. Not my taste at all. Obviously they are all amazing, but i am not a fan of what they produce.
  2. Yes, that is Gary Willis' band. I hear they're the number one jazz fusion band in Latvia.
  3. lol. i see you have a Iby GWB. I didn't knwo i was dealing with a fanboy! Gary Willis is an excellent player. I do only really know him from his signature Ibanez, but i was aware of that long before YouTube even existed. I'll concede he's good, but he's no Entwistle. 👾
  4. Also Entwistle elevated the role of the bassist in a rock situation from unknown sideman to fuly fledged contributing member. I suppose Jack Bruce did as well but i prefer the Who to Cream In my opinion.
  5. I did above. Gary willis. I mean he's a killer player, but to me, his greatest contribution to the bass world is the widespread acceptance of ramps.
  6. I think the way he brought the concept, to my ears at least, of lead bass was a revelation. Definitely highly influenced by jamerson, who i would put at number 2. He attacks the bass like none before and not many since. His lines are often counter to what Pete is playing so he is basically writing th me memorable bits of many of their songs. And he had an amazing case of GAS.
  7. I can name the number one best bass player of all time. Its easy. John Entwistle. See. Easy.😍
  8. i think a lot could be said for macca's influence in the bass world. he's not my favourite, but i would certainly rate him very highly.

  10. Just bought a switchblade pro from billy. He went above and beyond what was necessary to get me the pedal here in dublin (which was more of a hasslen than you'd think!) Great communication, great packaging, nice fella. Pedal arrived quickly as well. Cant wait to put it on my board.
  11. Received my switchblade pro today. Thanks for the suggestion. It's exactly what i was looking for!
  12. I was like you. Played for years but really only had a compressor built in to my SWR amp. I thought it was for slap only or more for pick players. When i recently started building my first full pedal board, i figured if everyone is using a compressor, maybe i should try one out. I did a ton of research, my favourite thing to do, and got my wife to grt me a lusithand alma compressor for xmas. I already had some of his kit and it's quality and the reviews are amazing. The thing is a revelation. It's an always on pedal for me. I was looking for more articulation and it just gives a roundness to all my notes that you can hear when it's not on. I love it.
  13. If you get a chance, can you measure the top of the neck pocket like here. How long across:
  14. I have a warmoth P that looks similar. Moses graphite neck though.
  15. I put one in my jazz bass, a single NFP preamp drop in jazz plate, and it is the absolute business. I can't say enough good things about it. Just gorgeous sounding. This guys is doing really grwat work in the UK.
  16. That is amazing. Have you see. This fella? He put the tone stack if the 800RB on a drop in jazz plate. Such a cool idea. https://lusithanddevices.com/product/800ts-jazzplate/ I've got a couple of his bits and they're excellent.
  17. so cool. this fella was the first guy i saw and his products are great. i think it's a trick of the light. i'll put final shots when done and let me know what you think!

    NPD - MOD Dwarf

Crazy looking. Veey cool. Soxthese plugins are written by the users? These aren't like VST plugins, correct? Can this be used live or recording only?
  19. It's easy to see how he migrated to modulus basses. He obviously likes to keep ahead of the game on bass technology
  20. Its the bass that made me love the look of lots of electronics, kmobs and switches. I love a crazy layout like that. Too cool.
  21. That's funny you say that, because Andy Rourke plays on one of our tracks, and it starts off on an F# and then had this beautiful feel that i can't quite get and i think its because he is using that F# tuning. When i play it live, i find it would likely be much easier if i tuned to F# . Its always an awkward tune to play for me. You can hear it here. Let me know what you think if he is tuning up or not https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/471386-andy-rourke-plays-on-my-bands-last-single/
  22. I went ahead and ordered one so i can measure when it gets here! Cheers, bud
  23. Got some more bits today Tone pot arrived and the chicken head knobs. Also picked up primer and paint for the pickup rings. I sanded out the guidelines today and they came out great! at this point, i feel like fitzcarraldo with this bass!
  24. Wow! That assembly is very impressive!! How do i not see a single wire? I dont think i could use that board with my size 14s
