  1. Agreed, it does happen, but that doesn't explain the lack of communication from the seller. Mark
  2. I'd never really considered this approach. It is the only identifying mark/name on the bass, everything else is just plain. I may actually just leave it alone now. Mark
  3. My Maison 129p is my longest had instrument. Bought in '92 I think, and it sounds absolutely lovely through my Vox amp. Sadly, the volume knob on the bass no longer works so I have to get that replaced, and I'm planning on removing the name decal from the body at some point - someone here recommended T-Cut for that, I haven't got around to doing it yet. It was the second bass I ever owned, and the first 5-String. Mark
  4. Best buy was my Vox AC-50 amp, which I got together with a Vox VR-115, for £150 in the early '90s. Granted, it was by no means a bargain for me at the time, as I think I was only earning about £70 a month. I still have both items, and the amp now goes for considerably more than what I paid for it, but I love it, so I'm not gonna part with it. Mark
  5. This was the first video of his I saw, it was amazing to see and hear that all done on the bass like it was. Mark
  6. 5 Stings, y'say? Mark
  7. There's loads of songs I'd love to be able to play fully and accurately, but as this is a Party Piece, I'll say either Dragon Attack or The Invisible Man, both by Queen/John Deacon. Mark
  8. All this talk of drummers counting the songs in reminds me of this … Mark

    Hello

    Hello and welcome. Mark
  10. Bought a bass from them last year and everything was good. They answered my emails without issues, being in a different country to them everything was done remotely and no issues with the bass upon arrival with me. I'd have no concerns with dealing with them again should the need/want arise. Mark
  11. I don't hate them, but for the life of me I just don't get the Flying-V shape. This might sound odd coming from a POV of someone that really likes Thunderbirds, but the Flying-V I just can't get my head around. I have zero time for this shape of bass/guitar. My mate has a guitar and just … nope. I simply can't be having it. It's like there's this disconnect in my head that whenever I see one I just have to roll my eyes and give a little shake of my head. 😂 Mark
  12. I've been waiting ages to use this. 😂 Mark
  13. It needs to have reverse headstock, so … twin neck then? Mark
  14. 208-A20-Z18-BG1-MB-BB-ST5-RS5 ^^ That's my build code ^^ I couldn't grab an image of it so the code above should help, but there's no reverse headstocks so it's a moot point for me (he says, like I could afford one anyway 😂), and at $3349, I'd absolutely want what I want, and what I want is a reversed headstock, and three pickups. Mark
  15. Not short scale but pink and definitely fits your budget, I just saw this Ashdown 'The Grail' in the For Sale section here. Mark
  16. Oohh yes, I'm the same on them as I am with REM too. But this thread was about songs, not artists, so I've refrained from mentioning until now that someone else throws whole artists under the bus. 😂 Mark
  17. If it wasn't for Fb sponsored content I would never have found Larkin Poe, which is now probably my favourite band of recent times. Also got stuff from When Rivers Meet as well, so Fb advertising does work, I guess you just have to make sure you are hitting the right demographics in your targeting. Let us know how it works out for you? Mark
  18. Twin Peaks. Mark
  19. I knew someone was gonna do it. Mark
  20. https://www.samaritans.org That would be … interesting. Mark
  21. This is interesting. At the moment, it's not there as a fully fleshed thing (pardon the pun, as I know we are talking AI here), but I don't think that's really the point, the point is, this could be used as a really good jumping-off point. Have AI create stuff like this, then a human change a few words here or there, add a chorus, change the arrangement a little … it's a lot less bother for some to do that than it would be to create a whole composition from scratch. Just change it enough to be … better (by whatever objective measure you use as 'better'), and you'd never know that AI created this. Someone could easily learn this and pass it off as their own work. And that's what I find interesting about this. Not that I would do it, it's the possibility that this option offers, because you know some will do this, and we'd never really know. Mark
  22. I got my first 5-string bass in the very early '90s (I still have it) I got my second one for Christmas, 2021 (I'm never getting rid of this). I then joined Basschat and I now have 8 of them. This place. *walks away shaking his head* Mark
  23. I always like the "In perfect condition, apart from … " Mark
