  1. It needs to have reverse headstock, so … twin neck then? Mark
  2. 208-A20-Z18-BG1-MB-BB-ST5-RS5 ^^ That's my build code ^^ I couldn't grab an image of it so the code above should help, but there's no reverse headstocks so it's a moot point for me (he says, like I could afford one anyway 😂), and at $3349, I'd absolutely want what I want, and what I want is a reversed headstock, and three pickups. Mark
  3. Not short scale but pink and definitely fits your budget, I just saw this Ashdown 'The Grail' in the For Sale section here. Mark
  4. Oohh yes, I'm the same on them as I am with REM too. But this thread was about songs, not artists, so I've refrained from mentioning until now that someone else throws whole artists under the bus. 😂 Mark
  5. If it wasn't for Fb sponsored content I would never have found Larkin Poe, which is now probably my favourite band of recent times. Also got stuff from When Rivers Meet as well, so Fb advertising does work, I guess you just have to make sure you are hitting the right demographics in your targeting. Let us know how it works out for you? Mark
  6. I knew someone was gonna do it. Mark
  7. https://www.samaritans.org That would be … interesting. Mark
  8. This is interesting. At the moment, it's not there as a fully fleshed thing (pardon the pun, as I know we are talking AI here), but I don't think that's really the point, the point is, this could be used as a really good jumping-off point. Have AI create stuff like this, then a human change a few words here or there, add a chorus, change the arrangement a little … it's a lot less bother for some to do that than it would be to create a whole composition from scratch. Just change it enough to be … better (by whatever objective measure you use as 'better'), and you'd never know that AI created this. Someone could easily learn this and pass it off as their own work. And that's what I find interesting about this. Not that I would do it, it's the possibility that this option offers, because you know some will do this, and we'd never really know. Mark
  9. I got my first 5-string bass in the very early '90s (I still have it) I got my second one for Christmas, 2021 (I'm never getting rid of this). I then joined Basschat and I now have 8 of them. This place. *walks away shaking his head* Mark
  10. I always like the "In perfect condition, apart from … " Mark
  11. It takes a whole lot less than that for something bad to happen at your computer if you're running Windows. 😂 Mark
  12. For having a cat in the first place? Mark
  13. Slash has a new album out soon, it's gonna be a blues covers album with one original song on it, and he's released a video for the first single, Killing Floor (YouTube link to video). Album to be titled Orgy of the Damned, and will feature the following tracks, together with other artists performing on them … 1. The Pusher feat. Chris Robinson (Wayne Hoyt Axton) 2. Crossroad Blues feat. Gary Clark Jr (Robert Johnson) 3. Hoochie Coochie Man feat. Billy F. Gibbons (Willie Dixon) 4. Oh Well feat. Chris Stapleton (Peter Green) 5. Key to the Highway feat. Dorothy (Charles Segar, William Broonzy) 6. Awful Dream feat. Iggy Pop (Lightnin' Hopkins, Clarence Lewis, C Morgan Robinson) 7. Born Under a Bad Sign feat. Paul Rodgers (William Bell and Booker T. Jones) 8. Papa Was a Rolling Stone feat. Demi Lovato (Barrett Strong, Jesse Norman Whitfield) 9. Killing Floor feat. Brian Johnson, Steven Tyler (Chester Burnett) 10. Living for the City feat. Tash Neal, Jenna Bell, Jessie Payo (Stevie Wonder) 11. Stormy Monday feat. Beth Hart (T-Bone Walker) 12. Metal Chestnut (Slash) If that track above is an indication of the overall quality of the album, I think I'm going to like this. Mark
  14. Thank you for saying this. I see here it mentioned quite a lot that this or that bass isn't suitable for this or that type of music and I just think to myself "WTF", because a bass is a bass is a bass and a Thunderbird can be used for country just as a Jazz can be used for doom metal. I've been reticent to speak up on this though until now because it seems to be some sort of perceived wisdom that I've been counter to the notion of. Mark
  15. I was reading about this earlier in the week. Even though I've never seen Del Amitri live, I have a lot of their stuff and I've liked them since I first heard them in the '90s. Loved their songwriting and Justin has been a big part of that. Wishing all the best to him and those around him that will have to deal with this also. Mark
  16. Not especially, no. It's where I work, and I work night-shift so the heating is on through the nights when it's generally the coldest part of the day, and I stay in nocturnal mode when I'm off-shift, so again the heating is still on. I've never experienced this particular issue with my other basses, so I'm putting it down to a one off, freak occurrence hahaha. Mark
  17. Honestly, I have no idea what was going on with it. I've never done any tuning other than standard G - B. Checking it over the last few days after giving it 24hrs for the neck to settle it seems to be stable enough. I do appear to need new strings, but otherwise all seems good. Mark
  18. I have my Washburn AB-35 hanging on the wall above the desk where I WFH. Over the last couple of nights I've heard pings and pops coming from it, so I thought I'd get it down the next time I was off shift (tonight) and have a quick session on it as I haven't played it in some time, favouring the Ashdown bass as it's just in the living room on a stand because it takes up less physical space than the Washburn. I take the Washburn down from the wall, give it a dusting off and just holding the neck I can tell the strings need tuning properly. Plug it into my tuner, hit the G string and I'm a bit surprised to see it's hitting the C 😂, and it's quite a sharp C at that. In fact, it's so sharp the needle won't physically move any further to the right of the meter. Every damn string was tuned so high, it took about 15mins of tuning and re-tuning to get it to where it should be. It's back on the hanger now but I'll need to keep an eye on it because I suspect when the neck settles back into a more relaxed position, I'll need to retune once more. Anyway, that's my night so far, hope you're all having a good one. Mark
  19. A large portion of the the inclusion these days incorporates the fan vote, so it's not solely about the faceless committee or self congratulatory importance of those making the decision of which inductees to select. Mark
  20. My wife was the one that bought me the Washburn AB-35 that I got a few years ago. I bought it from eBay and when it arrived she transferred money into my account and said it's yours for Christmas. Bass wives FTW! Mark
  21. I think they are there to stop the saddles sliding side-to-side. Mark
