1.
I would probably love these if I was 14 and one had a single £100 bass, but I bet they look a bit crap up close.
Pretty much what I was thinking. I bet they feel yuk to play over, and some of them don't look straight to me on the pix, which looks uber cheap! Pass ...
2. Well I think it's a good track! Incidentally, I can play about 20 bars of it on the piano .....
3. well, no one else replied ...
4. Oh, .... you are too kind.
5. Why thank you good sir, you are both a scholar and a gentleman.
6. I believe that I can help you there as amazingly, I am looking for exactly the same thing! After extensive searching, the only place I got any joy from was the excellent SIMS, who would charge £250 + £15 P&P for one such item. I hope this helps.
7. Just a thought, but I'm considering trying to get a replacement body for my Reggie Hamilton jazz V. Nothing wrong with what I have of course, other than the fact that it's just too new and shiny for my tastes and I obviously don't want to bash it up at all! I'd like to find a replacement body that I can finish differently, and keep the original in pristine condition should I ever wish to part with it. Where would be the place to get something? Budget is limited somewhat at the moment ....
8. Still far from obvious! I assume that an SB1000 is an Aria Pro?? They don't even mention that it's fretless on the website! Anyway, thanks for the pointer, I'm half looking at fretless basses right now but I don't think that's quite my thing.
9. Luton, Bedfordshire. Work in London NW9. Both a bit far from the pennines!
10. Hmmn, I could have been tempted if you were a bit nearer. I have the 66(?) key version and I really like it, although it's a bit short for a few pieces!
11. Generic link? Couldn't even find it.
12. Sounds great. Unfortunately too far for me.
13.
I'm afraid sussed this one out in an instant.
Me too. I'm usually very aware of the date (for work purposes) anyway, but also the fact that I'm seeing the thread at 6.45 pm means that it's a bit late to be caught out. Amusing though! EDIT: the joke sure would be on us if they DID pull the plug on it today though!!
14. I probably look in about 3 times a day at work, and just once in the morning at weekends. So not really addicted, just splitting up the dry and boring times at work.
15. Girls. I like brunettes, but that doesn't mean that I think that all blonds have to be put to the sword. And if some of them want to dye their hair to be a fake brunette then I have no worries about that. There's enough girls for everyone. We should all rejoice that there is a profuse choice of hair colour out there.
16.
Yeah they had some great people on their records. I did have a laff recently though with the campaign to get the Monkees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Sign here if you want to help three actors and a fairly good guitarist miming to covers to devalue the sacred portals http://www.petitiononline.com/Kretch07/petition.html
I always think that the rock & roll hall of fame is pretty mickey mouse anyway so why not have them in. I'll sign it! ps. Glad to see that you give Mike a bit of credit - pretty good solo on Valleri
17. I totally love the look of that bass! All the best stuff comes up when I'm broke
18. Can't help with choices as I'm thick on that sort of thing, but I've always fancied a Modulus myself. It would have to be a 5 though.
19. There's something cool about a jazz bass. I'm glad that mine is active though.
20. Anyone else read the original post and think that it was Craykiwi???? It was only a second visit to the thread that I realised it wasn't That avatar is obviously stored in the back of my mind!
21. Go for it. Death to shiny new instruments. Note: Having said that, most DIY relic jobs look hideous, so don't do it unless you can do a decent job of it!
22. Mmmmmm. Nice. Almost as nice as Jessica Alba's ass. Seeing them in the flesh, which one would you go for? I'm a massive SRV fan but I think that it would be Blackie for me.
23. Do you also get a loud ringing at about 7.00am?
24. Yeah, can't see anything selling without pix to be honest. I'm surprised that people even start a thread without them in place - it dilutes your selling potential to bring them in at a later date.
25.
I was always under the impression, that if the back of the neck had bumps and thumps etc. , then you should avoid. How right/ wrong am I ?
That wouldn't bother me if the neck was straight. I wouldn't particularly like it like that, but if it played great I'd get it.
