1. That's cool! You are (a little bit) famous.
2. er ............. never really learned anything! There was a time when I could fumble through most of PF's Money but to be honest I've never actually learned anything properly. The stuff I like to play I pretty much make up my own bass parts* as I've never had the patience for tabs. Really should have a go I suppose just incase the opportunity to play with someone else actually turns up! *[not sayin that they are any good here!]
3. If I were left handed I'd have chosen to play RH instead, just because there are so many more instruments available to you. Plenty of people have done it so why not?
4. I'm amazed that your local music shops don't have any? Don't they ever get guitars in???? I've often seen a load getting binned locally.
5. ...... Awesome bass! Beyond awesome even! I want it. Just need a cunningly fiendish plan to acquire approximately £2075 ................ [thinks]
6. I don't know anyone who can make a bass look more phallic! Edit: I really liked the look of the Jack Bruce Warwick until I saw the price tag.
7. I just can't get on with TAB unfortunately My last was a couple of basslines for Christian worship songs that I like. Mostly my own ideas, not because I'm any good, just cos of the TAB fail.
8. Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted one of those, but I'm totally broke.
9. Greetings and welcome! You certainly sound like you know what you are doing. Glad to have you on board.
10. Doesn't sound too good. I'm allergic to nickel but all the stainless I have thus used have been fine.
11. Larry Carlton. All day every day at work, thanks to Bilbo. Class but easy on the ear.
12. I keep coming back and looking at this bass. If I had any way of getting the readies then then this would definitely be going my way! I have some stuff to sell and I wish I'd got rid of it now (not that there’s 1.5K’s worth).
13. Great music there! Totally awesome. I have the CDs myself. Some really good songs and supremely tasteful guitar solos.
14. I find that whenever I get a new instrument (after a careful selection process), be it bass, guitar or whatever, it always seems like the best I’ve ever had. However, after a reasonably long period of time once the honeymoon period has been and gone, I sometimes reassess and get GAS for something different. Anyway, after a year of owning my current bass I’d say that I’m still 95% satisfied with it, but I’m wondering if I should still look for something that is 100% satisfaction? Is it worth changing just to reach 96% satisfaction? The complication is that I’m generally in a sell to buy scenario so there’s no going back! Are you 100% satisfied with your best bass?
15. Excellent place. As good an instrument shop as you will find.
16. Hmmn, well I'm primarily a guitarist but also play bass, keys, alt tuned acoustic, chapman stick and a bit of dodgy drumming. Personally I don't think that basschat is the place to be discussing those things in terms of a sub-forum. I think that it's better as it is, 98% bass and just the odd thread showing up. Before you know it the for sale forum will be awash with people signing up to sell a guitar or three. I think that it could kill what is good about this place and there would be no going back really. What the world needs is Guitarchat.co.uk
17. Looks fascinating. I think I'd go for something more interesting than a black finish though. I'd want to get an interesting veneer on the top followed by a dark burst of some sort on the front and black on the back.
18.
Personally, I hate single cuts.....aesthetically, the visual balance is all wrong.
Yeah, I agree. They look so wrong to me! I don't mind them being used by others but I would never touch one with a barge pole personally!
19. Stunning bass, an absolute beauty! I wish I had the money.
20.
If its folding stuff, I'd like 999 or very near offer.
I just so happen to have a spare 1000 deck chairs right now? Great guitars. I'd love one if I had the space and the cash.
21.
Macaris … are in the process of replacing the price stickers on many of their pedals. How strange. They have one. Sensation! They assure me that they’ll sell me the pedal at the current sticker price, even though it’s about to go up when they change the sticker. How generous. I finally try a Memory Boy, priced £20 above ebay average. It’s OK but not great. As I hand it back, they change the sticker price. It now costs £10 more than when I walked into the shop.
no ............. IT"S A MEMORY TOY!!!!!! Sheeesh.
22. I like slap. Do I need to register with slappers anonymous?
23. That looks fascinating! I would love that, or at least to have a go with it. Having said that, they don't give nearly enough info about it. eg How it's tuned and haw you play it. An instrument like that really needs an accompanying video to show its potential.
24. Looks cool, and especially for that price! The contouring reminds me of Parker fly geetars a bit.
25. Bought an interface off Pete. Paid for it at 2.30 in the afternoon and it was with me the next morning! Excellent service!
