1. That's it - you've sorted it, thanks!
2. OK well I want a single 15 cab so this will be great. My mobile is 0778 070 6991 - giv me a cal please or text me and I'll ring you back to save your phone minutes. I'm in Oldham near Manchester so its about 50 odd miles to get over to you - would you maybe meet up during the day, part way? For some reason I'm not getting notified of replies - I would have been back on to you sooner!
3. Hi - Have you still got the 15" cab up for sale, please?
4. Aha - just saw this - thanks.
5. Thanks for that!
6. PRICE DROP TO £25. I’ve just discovered this pack of used double bass strings amongst all my odds and ends.I got these with a double bass several years ago – the bass has long gone, but these were in my box of bits. Now the pack says “Pirastro”, but I can’t be sure if they are another set that were taken off the bass as the new strings were put on. I put this on the EUB general forum and the opinion I have had so far is that they are possibly Jarger Mediums. Using my trusty micrometer, the gauges are 50 thou for the G, 65 for the D, 80 for the A, and 107 for the E. I’ve put them up for sale on the site, I don’t want to “mis-describe” them so I've headed the advert "unknown band". Price drop to £25 plus £2.50 postage (for UK mainland addresses), as this seems a pretty reasonably low price for a full set of decent secondhand DB strings, regardless of whatever brand of strings they may be.
7. I’ve just discovered this pack of used double bass strings amongst all my bits and pieces. I got these with a double bass several years ago – the bass has long gone, but these were in my box of strings. Now the pack says “Pirastro”, but I can’t be sure if they are another set that were taken off the bass as the new strings were put on. Does anyone know what brand they are – can you identify them from the “silks”? Using my trusty micrometer, the gauges are 50 thou for the G, 65 for the D, 80 for the A, and 107 for the E. The windings on the strings all appear to be OK. I’m looking to put them up for sale on the site, so I don’t want to “mis-describe” them, and I’m really not sure what a reasonable price would be. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
8. Hi - yes I bought it from one of the members here a few years ago - I don't remember his name though. It IS an excellent setup, but I don't get any use out of it, so I want to move it on.
9. Markbass 500 watt RMS bass rig for sale, consisting of a Markbass Mini CMD 121P combo and a New York 121 extension cabinet. Also included are the mains lead, the Speakon connecting lead for the extension cabinet and the most excellent Roqsolid covers which cost a good deal of cash but are excellent protectors of equipment. This is a top quality, pro standard setup, and is in excellent condition. The amplifier and the extension cabinet are made in Italy and the general opinion is that these are of much better quality than the currently made models which are built in Indonesia. I’ve had this setup for a few years, and have really enjoyed gigging it, but I don’t play much bass now, so it’s up for sale. Have a look online for the current cost of all of this for yourself – just under £1200. I’m in Royton, Oldham, about 3 minutes off the A627M link road at Junction 20 of the M62. I’ve got bass guitars and a tuner, so get in touch to come over to try it and buy it.
10. Hi - sorry I just saw your message, thanks for the enquiry. I really prefer buyers to come and see the instrument and try it, but I could probably arrange to pack it securely and ship it, but I will have to weigh & get dimensions to get a quotation for shipping it. It would have to be sent by a tracked and signed for service - maybe by Parcelforce International or UPS, but I can find a cost from various carriers if you let me know which town in Italy the bass would be sent to. How would you arrange payment if you were to go ahead with the sale? Regards, Geoff
11. Hi Mark - I don't want to separate it - want to sell the "package" - thanks for the enquiry, though.
12. NS Steinberg design WAV4 Upright Bass with original Gig Bag which holds the bass, the stand and the bow case, and an excellent quality tripod adjustable stand – not one of the cheaper, wobbly ones. There is also a good quality bow in a wooden case, 2 blocks of rosin for the bow and a spare set of new strings. . These are really great quality, electro acoustic basses with a passive piezo pickup circuit – no power supplies or batteries needed. The two control knobs are for tone and for volume, and there is a switch on the side which gives a different tone range, brighter or rounder. It’s currently strung with tape wound 40’s to 100’s, and there is a brand new spare set of the same, bought from Golihur Music bass centre in the USA. I’ve had the bass for about ten years, and have really enjoyed it, but I don’t play any upright bass now, so it’s up for sale. I’m in Royton, Oldham, about 3 minutes off the A627M link road at Junction 20 of the M62. I’ve got a tuner and bass amp so get in touch to come over to try it and buy it, or I'll pack it for your courier if you want to arrange to have it picked up. Also would swap for a good American Precision (fretted) bass with a decent case. If no takers I may well go to Ebay who have the £1 fee per sale offer on at the minute!!!!
13. USA made Peavey Foundation Fretless Bass - in fantastic condition & original Peavey padded Gig Bag. These are really well built “Crafted in the USA” instruments and come up much less frequently than they used to – these are going up in value all the time. The serial number is 08779861 which I think dates it to 1996/7. It has two Peavey pickups and the controls are like the Fender Jazz bass – one volume control for each pickup and one master tone control. It has a superb, slim neck and has the fret position markers which makes it look great, to my mind, and it’s easier to get the right intonation and position on the fretboard when you’re playing. It’s currently strung with tape wound 40’s to 100’s strings. I’ve had it for about fifteen years, and I don’t play any fretless bass now, so it’s got to go. I’m in Royton, Oldham, about 3 minutes off the A627M link road at Junction 20 of the M62 near Manchester. I’ve got a tuner and bass amp so get in touch to come over to try it and buy it.
14. Here’s my Martin DX1AE guitar up for sale – it’s in excellent condition, plays really well with a big sound & superb tone. It’s not getting played much, so it’s got to go. I’ve just fitted a new set of Martin 10’s strings and a new Duracell battery for the great sounding Fishman pickup. The tone and volume controls are just inside the top of the soundhole, so you can slip your finger in to adjust them whilst you are playing, but nothing shows on the outside of the guitar. The output jack is in the rear strap button. The guitar comes with a great fitted hard case. The write up from Martin guitars is as follows:- “The DX1AE acoustic-electric guitar features a D-14 platform and a Dreadnought body design that produces the rich, dynamic sound & look that Martin is known for. Pairing the solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany-grained high pressure laminate back & sides, the DX1AE features Fishman electronics.” These are £649 now from Dawsons or GAK plus the cost of a case – have a look on their websites.

Fender American Standard Jazz 5 string Bass - in fantastic condition & original Fender padded Gig Bag and Fender strap with straplock buttons. A top quality piece of kit from Fender, the bass has had very, very little use, which is why I’m selling it. It's a well built “Made in the USA” instrument, serial number is N7298871 which dates it to 1997. Excellent tone and sustain, and a great maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. It’s made in the original “5 on one side” layout of tuners. It's strung with roundwound D’Addario 50s to 135s strings, which are in good condition. The bass is in brilliant condition apart from a knock it took on the upper rear bout on the edge of the body – it’s in the black part of the paint finish and has been re-touched in - photo attached below. May swap for good American Standard Precision 4 string??? I’m in Royton, Oldham, about 3 minutes off the A627M link road at Junction 20 of the M62.

21. Here are four 8” Bugera speaker chassis up for sale. These are used but almost new and are rated at 30watts RMS and have an impedance of 4 ohms each. I got these off a chap in Bolton and was going to build either a 4 x 8 inch 120 watt RMS guitar speaker cabinet or a pair of 2 x 8” cabinets either for use as a small PA system or for Acoustic events, but I never got around to building them. They are very light, and the overall packed weight of all four is just under 5 kilos. If I had to post them it would cost £8 by MyHermes tracked & signed for and they will be sent in the Celestion speaker boxes that I got them in, but note they are Bugera speakers. They are guitar rather than Bass speakers but I have also posted them in "Amps & Cabs for sale" section of this site. Preferably you can call and pay cash and collect them from me in Royton, near Oldham – I’m about 5 minutes away from the A627M which is at Junction 20 of the M62, or I could meet up within a ten mile radius of my house.
