  1. Thanks guys, really appreciate the support here. A couple of the grub screws have seized in the barrels and chewed up. I was careful, but I can only suspect this damage was already there - the action was stupidly high when I picked it up, but I put it down to not being set up right. I may have discovered why now! Never mind, you pays your money, etc. I had a look for replacement indentical saddles online, but I couldn't find any with grub screws. I was unsure whether other bridge saddles would fit the existing bridge plate, hence sticking with same as. Given what you guys have said though, I shall see what I can pick up! I don't mod my basses much, hence being a bit unsure about it all. Once again, really appreciate the help.
  2. Hi all, I was lucky enough to have picked up a nearly new Squier CV50s P second hand recently, and it seems I need to replace some bridge parts. It has the standard 'threaded rod' barrel bridge. As fas as I can tell, the Allparts 'Vintage Style' should be a straight swap, but can't confirm if that's the case - I wondered if anyone else has attempted this repair? Alternatively, maybe I should look at other options? However, I'm not currently keen to fit a high mass or anything. Thanks in advance, good people of BC!
  3. I'm with @TimR here. Benevolent dictatorship to a point, usually boiling down to a couple of the band doing the thinking and planning. I've been in band operating both systems, and to pick up @musicbassman there, I think the democratic model is more important on creative decisions around original music. The logistics and promotion are still the same though, regardless of which flavour of band you play with. On song choice though, I believe whoever has to sing the song should have a greater level of veto.
  4. Congratulations! I've never seen one before either, it looks great fun 😁👍
  5. Whilst I'm not so much in the same boat as in a vaguely adjacent vessel, I can certainly identify. When I wasn't able to have a bass on me, I still found a way to have a bit of a tootle on my Ergo EUB. Being a free standing object mounted on (ostensibly) a cymbal stand, I was able to set it at an angle and height that I could work with and still get some joy from playing along to stuff.
  6. Welcome Jack! I hope you continue to enjoy digging in to BC and playing the bass in general. 😁👍
  7. Hi Ricky! Indeed, Glos as in Gloucestershire - just near Stroud. Are you 'local', as Tubbs would say...?
  8. Hello Mungo! Bloody things. Maybe it's some sort of journey one goes on. It all started with buying this fretless Antoria P at auction a little while ago, and it's gone from there...
  9. Thanks Frank! 😁👍
  10. All the best, Joel! Have a great gig.
  11. Cheers, Smanth! Happy New Year!
  12. And to you, good Smurf! 😁👍🍻
  13. Cheers Spondon - a Happy New Year to you!
