  1. @vmaxblues I bought Stuart's Trace Elliot Elf head from him and it arrived in immaculate condition in the original packaging with all of the bits and pieces it needed. A very nice man to do business with - I highly recommend him.
  2. The Squier 40th Anniversary basses are superb, although they're knocking on the door, price-wise, of a used MIM (which seem to be dropping these days).
  3. It's bonkers to think that it was released in 1994; if anything I'm more rebellious, rabble-rousing and badly behaved at 45 than I was at 15. I blame Therapy? for a goodly proportion of that!
  4. Saul Williams, Beastie Boys, Senser, Prophets of Rage, Akala.... It's a very wide genre, and I can't claim to be an expert.
  5. I'm looking forward to seeing her on the top step, my friend.
  6. I think you might have a future Paralympian on your hands there, @AndyTravis. What a cracking young lady.
  7. I'm going to see Therapy? on Staurday at Rock City; somehow it's 30 years since Troublegum was released...
  8. I knew there was a reason I like you!
  9. I had a jam with an erstwhile bandmate on Tuesday this week, and I took this bass with me; I have to say that it plays well and sounds excellent (cue all of that stuff about butter and grand pianos...!). There's a wide range of tones, but being a find-one-you-like-and-stick-with-it kind of player I'm not sure I'll ever find a use for all of them, but when I make a rare excursion into the clankier sounds this bass, presumably due to those Limelight pickups, retains a sweetness that's quite surprising. There is plenty of bottom end available and it's nice and defined whilst still being big and fat. Suffice to say that I'm really enjoying playing it, and rather than just being a project for a project's sake this one is a keeper. Cheers, JRK
  10. Only another hundred and fifty quid to go to hit the £5k mark...
  11. You're beginning to look like mine; what do you say?
  12. Feel free, old boy; Our rates are extremely competitive and we clean up afterwards.
  13. Unfortunately, whilst I do have contacts, they're more of the insurance-job/kneecapping types as opposed to builders, plasterers and sparkies, so I won't be volunteering their services!
  14. I'm not crying. I AM NOT CRYING. I AM NOT BLOODY CRYING, OKAY?!!!
  15. Wow, what a result, and what a thing to be part of!! Honorary citizenship for @Clarky, I reckon.
  16. @Clarky, top job organising the whip-round. A very worthy cause indeed, and a big raspberry to whomever it was that pulled the plug on Iris's funding. @AndyTravis, keep that bass and enjoy every note.
  17. This has all the hallmarks of a great project; It'll be a real sleeper.
  18. Where's your hat that says "Bassssist"?!
  19. Either would do it.
  20. If the bass playing doesn't work out you could always write prose for a living!
  21. I think the only bass gear I've bought this year was a Cali76 from @Salt on your Bass?, and it's superb. Does that count for best and worst?! No, just best, I think.
  22. I keep my subs in the basement, covered in lime jelly and naked apart from their flip flops.
