Just my thoughts on Hoot. Got bored just after midnight. I’m a fan of a few acts, but show felt very backward looking and nostalgic. New year for me is also about new things. ironically watched RA on iPlayer and it felt much fresher.

Like others have said, it depends what you want. My favourite is a beat up no nonsense sound city chorus. It just sound great for what I do. I’ve got an mxr analog and I love it. It’s got a nice detailed sound but isn’t metallic and bright like my boss ce-3.

I have a power supply, I did see the bracket but can’t find any for sale here. After an initial run I think I will put it underneath. It’s just tidier. it is quite heavy, but that’s no issue for me as it’s mostly to keep everything organised and in the same place. It’ll help me get to work recording quicker. im very happy with it. It came with Velcro and cable ties although I have zero idea what to use cable ties for. For the money I think it’s steal and might even get another. 😳👀

Our drummer did sound at a club night that was hot as hell. They were on a streak of signing bands up a few months before they broke and gained local and national recognition. Our guitarist sent them a demo, the drummer thought it was funny. I knew right there. I thought he should have been pushing for us to play the night and I was kicked out not long after. Weirdly, I ended up mates with the guy who ran the club through other friends. He’d have booked us no problem.

Makes sense. If playing deadens strings and it’s attributed to the oil from your fingers, then applying oil should work. never tried it. Never been in that much of a rush.

I have friends who adore them. I can recognise their talent but doesn’t really do anything for me. While everyone is allowed to like different things. Certain acts i’ve found expressing anything other than the opinion they are genius or amazebaws is sacrilegious. Rush is one.

Blur, like suede, we’re always more punky live. Sometimes that was a bit of a car crash. But a lot of the recorded stuff was hard to replicate live, but I always liked them live. Great energy and engagement. Actually looked like they enjoyed it. Alex has some great bass lines.

Heard an interview with Andy bell recently where he said vince needed two words for a song he was working on at the beginning of erasure. He said what about oh Lamour? Vince gave him half the songwriting credit. Andy also talks about how erasure bombed initially and he was sure vince would be under pressure to ditch him. But if he was he never mentioned it and always had faith in him. Anything I’ve read or heard from Andy makes me think AB is the biggest VC fan to this day. It really sweet I think.

I used to do a job doing flyers or whatever promo, you meet the best and worst of artists. hands down the coolest, most charming, charismatic, sharpest dressed, biggest star of them all. Even took the time to thank us, totally showbiz and total gentleman.

Having serious gas issues at the moment. Saw a guitar. I can easily talk myself into buying it. It’s not even suitable to what I’m playing musically…but could be…see what I mean. Anyone got any tips on reigning it in a bit?
