  1. Thanks for the tip - I really hadn't thought about the ordering of the photos like that! Shows how often I sell things >.<. If it takes a little longer maybe I should get my new phone and take some better quality pictures too.
  2. bump to keep it alive. Any feedback or questions are welcome too on here on in private
  3. Looking to sadly sell my old double base. It's gone unplayed for too long and with the kids getting bigger I'm running out of safe places to store something that by all rights deserves to be loved and played - a musical instrument should never go silent. It's a Andreas Zeller, Full size double base, solid maple back, and in good condition according to the local violin shop when they checked it. I think it was at least 10 years old when I bought it, putting it at ~1990 or earlier. It has a soft case (the case is pretty aged though and one handle is broken), no bow, telescopic foot, bridge pickup (not tested for years), Strings in good condition. Local shop say they do have this model and normally sell them at £2700+ Since it's only a soft case, I'd rather do collection only or I deliver it rather than trust my bass to a courir. It does mean you need a big enough car (it is big) or be close to North Bristol, but it also means you can check it before you buy. I hope it goes to someone who will play it - maybe a suspiciously large Christmas present? Ps: sorry one of the pictures came out as a video. I think after the bass sells I need to buy a phone that does what it's told when I push the buttons! 20221109_135022.mp4
  4. Sorry for the very slow reply (kids keep me way too busy to check things I need to. I need time to go through all this on a bigger screen properly but finding others with similar issues, possible answers and great taste in bass style is a great Christmas surprise for me I may get back in touch depending on what I decide but this is a the first time I've actually managed to get info
  5. Sceptical about paying for access before a service? I've not been here long enough: is there a huge throughout of bass sales succeeding?
  6. I have an Aria Sinsonido electric bass guitar. It's a real rare beauty, headless, fretless and body less (yes, really) and as far as I know it is one of only a few hundred made and I had it specially imported so may be one of very few in UK Sadly it's having problems with the electrics, the tone control for the active pickup doesn't work and is stuck on clangu rather than the smooth soft near sinusoidal sound I love in a bass. Being so rare though the local repair shop has no clue where to start, and I don't know where to get support. I'm hoping that if I can find the circuit diagram or a specialist and see if I can replace the damaged part (if it's just the vari cap) or even (gulp) try and get a whole new PCB made for it locally This is a unique bass and while probably not the greatest in truth, it's been with me in hundreds of concerts in my youth and it's practically a horcrux by now!
  7. I have a double bass that's gone unplayed for too long and really deserves to go to a home where it will make music again. Of course it's not that easy a thing to sell (it's not even easy to fit in a 7 seater) and I'm trying to get a list of places where I could try to sell, ideally in close range of Bristol since the reason it's not played is I'm too busy. Any thoughts on where I should start looking? It seems harder to find places to sell than to buy
