  1. Have just edited the previous post, if right handed players want to come along then thats great. This is not to take over another day simply to get lefty's together as we are somewhat at a disadvantage in getting to play some decent basses! Aren't we supposed to live in a socially, culturally, lefthandedly, righthandedly inclusive world!!!!
  2. Hi all You may have seen my other thread regarding organising a bass bash for left-handed bass players 2012! Well it looks like we might be on to something with getting a few of us together, What I am asking for from you guys is possible suitable venues eg hall , large room some where we can make some noise and not up set any one. We are looking at somewhere south east of Birmingham, Does any one have contacts? Know a good drummer that could come along? Someone to give advice on set ups? Can any one donate there services in helping? I dont want this turning in to some commercial enterprise, just a chance for like minded folk to get together and look at some nice gear!!!!! Regards Patch
  3. Victor Bailey, Low Blow Great album
  4. Hi all Just a update we just over 20 people interested in the bash so far! we could be on to something! I have emailed over 60 of you!
  5. Thanks for all the comments guys, I will be ordering some TI flats. Shaker I will be trying that with all my basses, great advice cheers all merry new year and all that!!! Patch
  6. i have a tc stacatto through some barefaced so i'm kind of guessing thats alright! i have been through about 15 basses in the last two years, this fretless is hand made custom that is a stayer. What i'm kind of asking is for advice on pickup configurations / pre amp that get the best from my bass. Which just enhances the sound.
  7. Hi All I really enjoy playing my fretless, the thing is I much prefer the sound of it when it isn't plugged it to a amp I just don't think the pickups are doing it justice at all. I currently have basslines quarter pounders installed as a passive system, with two volumes and one tone pot. It sounds dull and lifeless, the bass is stringed with labella flats which I really like playing. Right the question is, should I change the pickups? make them active with a preamp? What are your favourite set ups on your fretless? [sharedmedia=core:attachments:75542]
  8. Guy' s just a warning for any one looking at the SEI on ebay, i phoned sei basses to check its history to be told they know nothing about it!!! I then emailed the seller to ask more questions and tell them what sei had said and as yet have had no reply!! Not saying its not genuine but you can make your own judgement!
  9. To my ears this is how a bass should sound , like a bass! Class player!
  10. Good stuff leftybassman! I have emailed Arni from Arni's lefthanded site to tell him what we are hoping to do, he has 60 leftys from england registered with him let alone all the others. I think we should be able to get a nice little crowd!
  11. Thanks for all the replies so far all. This all sounds great, rather exciting. I plan on getting this going in the new year, It would be great if Bass gear can get involved. If we can get a few of us working on it that would be great, any one with contacts ref venue in a central part of the country please give them a shout. We have a nice little list of people interested so far. Please remember every one is invited, no room for muso snobery!
  12. [attachment=95573:IMAG0163_2.jpg] Also Gas free, after lots of basses and many amps and cabs in the last few years! This set up has it all, great little stack! Awesome 5 string custom with emg's, and a one off fretless by schwable !
  13. For the price you can get a second hand LM 2/3 for personally I think its a no brainer. Get simple amps that give a great sound.
  14. All ideas welcome nothing is set at all ! if anyone has any ideas and contacts with a sizable room, that we can make some noise in. Be good to get a decent drummer may be aswell to jam with or at least drum tacks, i have logic 9 so that could be a option.
  15. This is a very good cab!
  16. Nice lil response so far! keep them coming guys and gals! The main point of this is ( totally selfish for me!!!) to have a chance see in the flesh and may be get a chance to play some lovely basses Remember every one is welcome, you don't have to own expensive bass's. All i ask is that you don't drop mine!!! So if you know any lefties then give them a shout! We are just getting a list together at this stage, so we can go from there. On arni's lefthanded site there are about 60 lefties from the uk on there so I am going to give him a shout to see if he can put something on the site.
  17. Hi All At the risk of alienating 99% of bass chat, I'm thinking of compiling a list of fellow lefties who would be interested in a lefties bass bash next year. The rest of you are obviously welcome too! It would be a chance to may be see and play basses that you don't get to normally. If you could list if your interested and your location and gear you could possibly bring. I have a 5 string custom, 4 string frettless custom and a barefaced tc stack to add to the mix. We could come up with a venue that is as central to as many as poss.
  18. Any one fancy a lefthanded bass bash next year?????????? Get as many people and basses together in one place as we can!! We can organise it in a central place to the majority!
  19. Throwoff if you have about $3000 you could get the streamer on arni's site! I nearly fell off my chair when I got the reply from him!!!!!!. There must be some kind of equality law when it comes to being ripped off for being special (left handed) !!!!!!!!
  20. Hi all Can someone recommend me some flats for fretless, would help if I can get hold of them pretty quickly too! can this be moved to bass guitar bit please, me a silly billy!
  21. May well sell this if a F1 comes up for sale! Price is £680 plus postage, no offers unless you have a F1 of course!
