When I say another, I mean a different brand, and maybe configuration (2x10?)

Hi all, I'm trying to find what the sensitivity (1w at 1mtr) may b for the above spker. I have a basic bass rig. Consists of an Ampeg Micro VR hd with a Hartke HiDrive 112. (Hofner "cavern" bass). All of which I put together second hand over 3weeks from pawnshop, private sellers. Now that I have switched horn off , I'm quite happy with sound of HiDrive.., though Im looking at another ,for a bit of "headroom" (&..more is always better!!??) . I don't want to add a different box and have a volume difference, therefore my question regarding Sensitivity. Thanks all

Thanks for your insights.

Hi all, anybody had much to do with Fender rumble 2x10 ? Any idear what their sensitivity is? In other words are they efficient, volume wise? Limited budget, unfortunately. I have an Ampeg Micro VR hd, and a Hartke HiDrive 112, but want more volume and spread , therefore vertical 4x10.. I was thinking of Ampeg svt 210av (X2), but a bit fearful, they won't b loud enough . Markbass 102 traveller, would b good, but (X2) would be over $2,300 AU.. Maybe Fender rumble 2x10 (X2)?. Can't seem to get any specs, even weight, let alone SPL, frequency res ,ECT. Alot of people seem to like rumble as cheaper, pub usable cabs.. thank all

Thanks for kindly taking time to share your thoughts. After comments received, I'm still very keen on one, when $s allow.. the one I played was "just right" on so many points.

Hi all, I'm seriously considering purchasing a Gibson DC tribute shorty. Really interested in hearing anyone's experience with said bass . Positive/Negative, very interested with all views. I used a Gibson EB (O I think)short scale SG bass, back in 70s. I had it playing really well, loved it's fat growling tone, BUT, like all SG's, "neck dive" was Really annoying. IV played a DC tribute for 20 min in local shop, and loved the way it played and sounded. But shop and real world can b very different. So anybody had any experience with one, please let me know. All the best regards from Down Under.

Hi all, I can't seem to get any specs regarding Sensitivity of said Ampeg 2x10. I'm hoping the other side of plannet may have more info.. (IV tried the Ampeg site but can only find " sales propaganda", I'm guessing lack of No.s pointing to V inefficient. Thanks all

Thanks, 1st time doing anything like this. It's gr8 (mate!)

Ok thanks, I will need my grandson to help me with pics, I'm still only just able to post tx. I can't seem to get into "forums", and having trouble with anything other than "welcome", and searching my own name to get stuff that IV/ others have posted. Forgive late response (time diff Oz to Brit) and my lack of computer skills. Total nubie with all this, but, think site is brilliant!!

That's why I was enquiring regarding current "Origin"50 watt hd, I have played my 335 thru "Origin50"with a quad with greenbacks, and it was soooo much like my JMP (45or50), (definitely had 2 EL34s) Anyway, back in the day,I played a bass with JMP into 2x15 Accoustic bass bin (box was only 150watts total) Sounded gr8, I'm sure 100 watt give a smidge more vol / head room, but 100watt Marshall cost prohibitive (can buy Ampeg V4B for not much more. Origin hd relatively cheap!

And Waddo..No corks!! 😅

Acidbass, what is name of band comming to Oz? IV just moved from Sydney to Surfers Paradise (way up north) Will U b playing Brisbane? Wish U all best, Oz punters are pretty welcoming!!

By d way, "one of those hats that r turned up on one side, is called a "slouch " hat.. iconic Oz, up there with kangaroo ECT.. Having played guitar since 70s till now, short scale is pretty comfortable for me, but I did play a P bass and later a headless steinberger end of 80s

IV been trying to find a Marshall Origin 50 Watt hd to try with bass..IV just started playing bass again, I played in 70s 80s, and used a Marshall jmp50or 45(can't remember) non master hd though a 2x15 bin. (box was only 120watt), but sounded like Jack Bruce (in my head anyway). 100 watt Marshall hds way too expensive for a gamble

I got a hofner contemporary "CavernBass". Found it in a small pawn shop, was really cheap. I will get a solid body when funds permit, but it's fine for now

I now gotta get a LOUD rig,(yrs ago I had an Ampeg V4B flat stick into ,a 6x10, great sound ,loud as, BUT Soo heavy, my back is aching already..

Marshall Origin 50 valve hd for Bass
Old Ozzie Guy replied to Old Ozzie Guy's topic in General Discussion
Yeh, I think it right. 2x15 were basically mid range, not bass drivers. I probably will need a V4B ,(100 watt) valve bass hd. I had 1 for a few yrs with a 6x10..both were soooo heavy ,and expensive.. Thanks for replying -
Hello all. I'm in my 60s, and not net savvy at all. I used to play bass semi pro in 70s/80s. Kept playing 6 &12 str guitar. IV recently bought a bass, joined a trio , and am "havn a go at bass"(again). I'm loving it!! Anyway, I'm looking forward to catching up last 40 yrs....

Hi all, I'm down under in Australia. I'm in my 60s, and have started b playing bass again,(I used to play semi pro in 70s and 80s. I'm sure that mid 70s I used a 50 watt Marshall gtr head ,non master vol, into a 2x 15 Accoustic bass bin. Has anyone tried modern Marshall "Origin" 50 Watt hd for Bass gtr?? I know it won't be very loud, and Yes I'm going for a mid-range , overdriven tone..(Jack Bruce??) Sorry for Kooky Question.
