1. Bumping as now for sale at £150 edited main post.
2. My brother uses this pedal. Its fantastic.
3. If Andertons want it back in original packaging will they not notice that the bass is in a box with the wrong model name etc on it?
4. Supposedly the bassist knew and was happy with them doing it.
5. I have been to see them 5 times. Always at festivals. To this day I have never made it further than 30 minutes into the set. They like almost all other metal music bore me to tears.
6. I understand this is the willy waving club. Its cold outside so give me a minute..
7.
I've only been playing for a year, but had no such problems with an old Jim Deacon I been learning on. No pain on the old bass or the new, just the feel of the strings is weird. I will happily try 0.45 gauge nickel strings though, and thanks very much for solving the mystery of the stock strings, that's really helpful in my quest to improve the playability :-) Really glad I joined this forum - the help and advice is invaluable to me as a beginner :-)
In that case I would guess it is the steel core you are finding uncomfortable, I prefer steel core but they are normally a little harsher on the hands.
8. Set up - Get a pro set up, you say you 'dropped the action'? I guess you lowered the bridge saddles? I would almost promise the truss rod needs a tweek and the buzzing will stop. Strings - http://www.fender.co...rd-silverburst/ Fender 7250M Nickel Plated Steel .045 to .105 strings. If you want thinner I would suggest .040 to .095/.100 if you find them too zingy then probably best to go for a straight set of Nickel strings, they tend to have a bit more thump and not as much zing as steel core or steel wrapped strings. I am sure loads of folks will chime in with string recommendations but frankly you can't go far wrong with Ernie Ball or Roto's http://www.stringsdi...5-extra-slinky/ http://www.stringsdi...100-long-scale/ You say you want smoother? I am guessing that the strings feel uncomfortable under your fingers, this is NORMAL for a novice! You have not built up the tough finger tips that come with regular practice, one would guess from your choice of bass you like rock and generally (although I am sure someone will be along with a list of rock stars who use flats!) for rock round wounds are the way to go. Persevere with it and you will soon forget the pain!
9.
Never been a fan (Last Summer was good though), but IMO the remaining guys should rise up, change their name and carry on. Show the world (and their former singer) that they will not be tainted by association.
Gotta say I kind of agree.
10. If only it was the 29th mate.....
11. If it is 1988 it is tough to say if it is 'Custom shop' or not, back then most Warwick work was for all intents and purposes custom. Really though it is worth what you think it is worth, the other poster is right, you could get an NT for 1500 maybe less, but if you like this one to the sum of two grand then the price is right.
12. It is a lovely thing mate, I am sure it will go soon enough. Will buy a Thumb one day...
13. I sold a hard case I had bought it second hand and the buyer complained it stank of smoke. Now I'm a smoker but don't smoke in the house or when gigging or in our rehearsal space so really struggled to see how it was me, the previous owner though did smoke. Proves quite how long that smell lingers...
14. Washburn Xb-120, comes in at £173 with GAK. My first bass, hell of a thing.
15. That video of Jens at Namm is brilliant. He handles it so well.
16. I think me secrets out now about being the Fender man. Genuinely chuffed to bloody bits to be part of it. I am blessed to have done a lot of cool stuff at a young age but you offer me Namm or Messe or BassBash. I choose the bash. We all started this journey because we love music. Whether we end up at Wembley, working for companies we all love or playing in our bedrooms we have that same core. Pleasure to meet all of you. Pleasure to be able to bring a prize. Pleasure for Nige to win it. A grand for charity? What a community we have here.
17. Waiting with baited breath!
18. Great day. Chuffed to be part of it. Congrats Nige
19. I bloody love Shuker basses.
20. Can't wait to meet you all. Going to be a great day, I will be bringing my 3 way rack and only one bass so if anyone needs a space then feel free.
21. The antidote to 'I forgot my amp, its cool to use yours yeh?' people. http://www.thomann.de/gb/fullers_unilock.htm
22. What everyone else said, for that kind of wedge you will easily get a German one on here. My old German Active Vette has changed hands half a dozen times or so, always for £450. They are so cheap second hand people can justify buying them on a whim to try out and then move on if they dont get on with the Warwick sound.
23. Who will win the squier jaguar bass is the question!

As an update. This is now sporting a duncan 1/4 pounder. The stock 60's custom shop is a wonderful pickup. Much more versatile than the Duncan but the Duncan fits with my power 4 piece so much more. I'm still totally and utterly in love. I went to a guitar store last week with a decent lefty bass selection and honestly didn't want to play anything. I'm so happy with this bass its unbelievable. If you had told me 5 years back I would be playing and over the moon with a rosewood board I would have probably had you committed. Now I wonder what the hell I was thinking with maple all these years...
25. Is anyone interested in a Warwick ProFet 3? Considering selling and if anyone might fancy a look I will bring it with.
