SOLD

This is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for a couple months back as a wierd bass to flip to lefty for a grungy rock project. Let me spend a while looking at it and see if the GAS comes back!
2. Ah yeh I will change it. Either JAN III or JAN I not too sure yet
3. Crap, I think I know what they are but my mind has gone blank. Black Ball ends and white silks.... I have them on my Washburn but that has been laid up for a heck of a time! Let me think on!
4.
Thanks for all the replies and great suggestions. Will make sure to look into all of these. I had a quick look at the Warwick as have seen a few vids on youtube and the tone of them sounded ballpark to my ears. Can only see left handed ones listed on Thomann but will search around other sites. The Ibanez I had heard seemed more of a rocky vibe, would that be correct to think that? The J/P, is that Jazz and Precision? So a hybrid to mix between for tone? I'm trying haha Thanks again
Yeh a P/J is a pickup configuration which has 1 Jazz pickup at the bridge and 1 Precision pickup at the neck. I didn't realise those Fortress basses were only cheap lefty! http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_rockbass_..._ebass_rshp.htm Thats a good bass, active JJ pickups and electronics plus the closest you will get the Warwick sound you like in your price range. I have a Corvette Premium RockBass (basically the same bass but with a flamed maple veneer top) and it's great. Strong sound and really versitile. This is going on BC as well http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=Rockbass The Fortresses are great basses, personally I prefer the P/J config and that is a silly price.
5. Haha, thats a looker! I reckon anyone who buys a CS fender should get what looks like a fake decal put on, wrong scratchplate and a dodgy neck plate. At least if it gets nicked and appears online BC would find it!
6. Someone please buy this! I look at it daily hoping it's turned into a lefty!
7. I think the stock bridge is pretty sound but I am putting a Schaller 3D on! I have some mad ideas for this, thinking about putting a 3 band MEC EQ in and then either Duncans or Bartolinis. Also a huge part of me wants to sand off the finish and oil it but I am not sure I am brave enough, the flame maple is only a thin veneer (5mm I believe) and I wouldnt want to get over zealous and wreck it!
8. I think Thomann are still selling those Rockbass Fortresses for silly money. J/P config, Active electronics. Could be a winner!
9. This bass has well and truly been ripped to shreds.
10. I am 100% sure that it's not kosher. Initial guess is an OLP but the sanding marks on the stock are not right for an OLP logo. Body looks wrong, edges on the horns are too angled. Seems wierd they would had a MM hardcase for it but who knows. EDIT- Look at the sellers over items, I don't know anything about Gucci Bags, Diesel Hoodys or G Star jeans but I would bet cash money they ain't kosher!
11. Looks like stuff didn't arrive today! On the upside I fixed my proper camera so I can actually take some half decent shots!
12. I love my RockBass Corvette as it is my only 5 string and it gives a great sound but I am not a fan of the Chrome Hardware. Incoming I have - Black Warwick heads Black Knobs Black Schaller 3D bridge. (TBH nothing wrong with the Warwick 1 piece but figured I may as well upgrade!) I shall hopefully have it all delivered when I get in tonight if not tomorrow. Will post pics of the rebirth! For now a terrible camera phone pic of the bass in its current set up.
13. Just reread the bit about cannot post pix! Still interested!
14. pix of ampeg rig?
15. I always quite fancied a Mockingbird, everything else is hideous...
16. In b4 'get second hand'
17. haha ok the fact its lefty is wrong for most of you!
18. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/left-handed-fender-p...ents_Guitars_CV Something about it does not seem right. I am not a big vintage expert especially with Fenders but it just looks wrong to me. Any suggestions?
19. ah that sort of fender musicmaster! Last time I trust google.
20. I still can't work out what part of a shower that is.
21. Ian is very well know at WW forums and a good guy to deal with from what I have heard. Have no fear BC this bass is a monster!
22. I think I am sitting around the 5k mark

Never met him but enjoyed his posting on here a lot. RIP fellow low ender.
24. I have read conflicting reports all over the internet about doing this! Personally I am really fleeting with the idea of getting one. It would be more something for me to noodle with at home than something I will ever need to gig! I was thinking about one of the 3/4 size chaps Thomann sell but I have heard stuff about it being all but impossible to flip a double bass because of the bracing etc inside and that if you put the low string on the other side it could in time bend the neck sideways?! Any experience on this BC'rs? EDIT - Also this is not something I am planning to do for at least a year, just need to start getting my info together. If anyone has a lefty or a cheap righty to be converted (should it be possible) don't offer it to me! I need to pay off my Warwick Custom and get a new amp before I get one of these.
