1. Not too hot on Aria http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ARIA-PRO-TWO-Left-ha...=item35a9f28d82 Is this a wolf in sheeps clothing or just mutton?
2. http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_vtone_b...ling_preamp.htm Buy one of those. Next time you get a 'the sound guy said I could use you amp' tell them that this an amp because it emulates speakers.
3. Poor photo! Bass is also in my sig 57' P reissue CIJ with Duncan 1/4 Pounder added bridge cover and seriously non-standard thumb rest!
4. Willing to take a repayment plan for £1 p/m for 650 months?!
5. this is exactly the kinds of thing im looking for the flip and use in a grunge band lefthanded!
6. Yeh no way a fretless as first instrument! lined fretless is pretty common
7. tempted! I have a vester super strat type thing in bits in my loft proper floyd rose and I think a sustaining pickup juding by the copius batteries!
8.
I never let people use my stuff and if they ask me, I ask for £600 to hire it per hour - that goes for the venue and bands.
Love this, you sir have my admiration. I NEVER lend gear. Someone asked to borrow my pedal board once.... I said to them sorry mate no f***in way. They said they only needed a tuner (clearly a lie as he had been chatting about wanting a Bass blogger all night..) So I opened my gig bag and threw my emergency qwiktune at them. Jokers out there! Honestly if you have no gear you're not a band. You're not a football team if you dont all have boots, you're not a racing team if none of you have a car. The ONLY thing I let people touch at gigs is my bass when I am with them, that's only because I am a lefty and if another lefty ask's they can by all means have a blast. I know how hard it is to find my basses to try out so they are welcome to.
9. Tell them to shove it. No Gear - No Band. Simple.
10. Not much lefty, Warwick I guess is first port of call as they do everything lefty.
11. I gotta say dude, I think you need to go out play some basses and buy one! Don't want to sound harsh but there is only so much advice us guys can give. If you wait for a BassChat general consensus on what to buy you will be waiting a very long time! We are all different players and have different influences and preferences in what we play. Go to a couple music shops play everything you can afford and just buy what is best for you!

13. I had a 2U one for my Markbass rig Great rackcase for the money
14. Thats a bit steep for my tastes, plus right handed so I don't care! I could see myself being that silly and buying my kids (if I have any!) a bass like that one day, if for no other reason than to play it myself when they not looking!
15. Laney are fairly cool for the money. My first 'big' amp was an RB3 head and 410 cab and it sounded decent. The cheaper laneys don't have what I would describe as great tone but they are fairly clean pre-amps and some nifty features like the built in compresser are nice to play with.
16. Someone buy this before I piss off my credit company more.
17.
Is there ANY way to play a bass through your laptop as the amp/speaker without harming it? And even if you used a preamp, say the Vox AmPlug, could you do it via that?
It is entirely possible but depending on what speakers you have on the PC it could sound terrible. Even when I line in through my Mackie Onyx and monitor on my little Samson's it sounds fairly awful and I spent close to 500 quid getting there! Second hand amp FTW!
18. Buy the Basschat special - Squier VM Badass Bridge Wizard Pickups. Then a second hand amp from the for sale section. Complete these steps and you are a true BC'er
19. My God, it's full of porn
20. Drool damaged keyboard once more
21. Sounds fair! Always wanted to do a project and play a short scale so seems a good oppertunity to kill 2 birds! Before I get it though I will pass the info onto a couple of friends who are school teachers in london maybe they have someone in one of their classes who wants a lefty bass
22. I am thinking the same thing, I really want a short scale for a toy and maybe a project but would rather a lefty kid got it before me! If you don't mind it going to me I can have it collected most likely by me old man
23. Jesus christ I just disgraced myself in my pants a little. That is gorgeous
24. GEB 7 is my baby, I really couldn't live without her
25.
Price drop to £370 bump If nothing happens this time I am putting it in the loft.
One day this bass will be super desirable and a classic and someone will be able to 'Uncles Loft' it and be accused of being a liar by a whole new generation of BC'ers!
