1. NOOOO ! I wish we could just for a one off but it's so hard to arrange, we played together for a few hours at Adams last summer for the first time in 4+ years and it was awesome we planned to do it again but with work, people living miles away now etc etc never happened. This is my other band, we never got gigging properly before I left. The guys are still jamming without bass though and going to send me 4 tracks and tabs so hopefully when I get back I pretty much know the material. I write all the lyrics anyway so I usually have a rough idea where I want the song to go. Plus moving back to UK and down to Brighton so awesome places to gig!
2. Due to living abroad for most of this year and having an unexpected bill to contend with I am now sans amplifier! I intend to get when I get back to UK in late August as my old band are planning on shaping up and hitting the road. Heres what Im thinking 2 Cabs - either 2 410 or a 410 and 115 Head (at least 300W) Budget £1500 I really want a full stack (I know, I know.. little combo, just as loud etc etc but I have a big ego to massage!) I have some ideas But I fancy throwing this out to the floor for some suggeestion, maybe some stuff I didnt even consider before see where I end up! Also no Barefaced, Berg or Eden or Phil Jones they're not for me!

12. The new Warwick Rockbasses are due to hit the UK in july, could be worth checking out
13. I am no fender expert but there is a Fender P Lyte(?) Not the most common of beasts but also not incredibly desirable so when they do crop up prices are usually ok theres one in USA at the moment on fleabay http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Precision-Bass-...=item27b0ffa2e0 7lbs 7oz weight sounds just right for you!
14. I went through a stage of calling my Precision 'Grace'
15.
At times they both sound like a set of spanners dropped into a metal dustbin to me.
Im not sure if im laughing at what you said or the fact that im sleep deprived state as I read it I saw your Avatar and heard it in Alf Garnets voice..
16. Bass Blogger?
17. Mark bores me +1 Flea
18. Does it really matter how you do it? Of course its interesting to see how other people's set ups work and what they use (hence the gear porn section!) But really there is no right and wrong. There is only one thing that matters and one of my favourite bassists put it far better than I could 'If you've got a guitar and a lot of soul just bang something out and mean it. You're the superstar. Plugged in the tones and rhythms that are uniquely and universally human: music. Heck... use your guitar as a drum, just catch the groove and let it flow out of your heart.'
19. Thats a lie and you know it! I played a black bass once, just looked like I had a big belt buckle.
20.
Possibly GHS Brite Flats - they have the gaps but I'm unsure whether they have silk.
Red silks!
21. It looks like a Warwick string... but they don't make flats. Its wierd all the companies I think it looks a bit like don't make flats! ClearTone and Warwick being the 2 main ones, that ballend looks identical!
22. Fender do quite a cheap one, I used one for about 3 years as did my brother. Survived gig after gig. Solid metal casing, simple LED display Reliable and it works http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_pt_100_pedal_tuner.htm
23. This one is mine! WHITE!
24.
You can always set it up as a "Discussion" thread...
Smarter man than I!
I wouldn't design anything by committee, especially on here! You'd end up with a monstrocity. The best person to get feedback from for your ideas would be Jon himself as he's got to build it at the end of the day and has as much experience building basses as anyone on here.
I do not want it comittee designed of course! And of course Jon will have the best feedback as a builder. Would be nice to get some ideas from you guys who must play far more often than I do! But anyway I shall wait
25. I really want to post mine! But it feels a bit wrong doing so before I have given John any money, although getting some feedback from other BC'ers on my idea could be useful
