The difference in tone between the old and new ones is subtle and for some not a big deal. If you are looking for variety I would recommend getting a new HH Special, you can access a tone of sounds with them.
As others have said there’s no bad years for EBMM stingrays the quality has been top notch all the way through. And I would agree the 2 band eq ones are the most classic stingray sound. The new post 2018 “specials” are actually my favourites nowadays they sound a little less naturally scooped and have a warmer tone, and are lighter which is a big benefit.
Saw it on talkbass that there are some price drops on the old vintera range in the US.
looks like some retailers are doing it here too, not quite as big a discount but not bad.
I appreciate that, it’s a great deal, for a nice bass, I’m sure someone will snap it up. My Birthday has passed now anyway so it’s harder to justify the purchase ☹️
I’ve got a very hectic life and childcare situation, I just can’t spare that sort of time for something hobby related sadly.
I’d love to though, 6 hours to myself would be a real treat!
Of course not everyone will like it, slagging off fusion is like shooting fishing in a barrel.
It’s for sure not for everyone, it’s very challenging for the ear, but some strange people (like me) actually like it.
I’m so sorry to hear this ended up like this. I was the original buyer. I had no idea about the size restrictions at the pick up point. I feel partly responsible but that courier sounds awful.
