[/quote] Thanks It all should be fine , When Bernie built the Merlin he cut the control cavity out so it is the same as as std gb. The gb circuit should just drop right in ........... Hopefully:)

I personally don't like the tone of the John east preamp. I am getting Bernie to put the GB circuit & pickups into my Merlin

They are as different as you can possibly get. Tonally very different.

Just bought a tuner from Nick who's service was faultless. The tuner was well packaged up for postage and arrived safely. Thank you so much. Chris

I think that it maybe a "john East Uni pre" identification on the circuit but looks like pictures on the "East" website. The bass is currently fitted with single coils

in the photo's it looks like the strings do not line up with the pole pieces on the neck pickup ??
