1. I like the body shape and I like the look of the pickups and tuners. The headstock shape does not work for me. The bass looks like it was put together by 3 people who each wanted to have a go at bass building and one of them was a precision bass fan Over all I like the look , I wonder what it sounds like:)

 5. +1 The Mk3 is one of the best basses I've ever played. I love the look, the feel and the sound. Watch the engineers face light up when you take one into the studio. I can't make mine sound like a Fender which is why it doesn't get played much at the moment, but in my opinion, nothing plays as well as a Wal. + 1 to what Chris said. I had the priviladge to playing Chris b's Wal Mk 3 , 5 string a while back and it really is a fantastic bass guitar. A Wal Mk3 5 string is on my "Wanted" list
 6.
Dem geezers testing some Source-Audio bass effects. Not interesting to me, but it may be to some of the Bootsy fans.
Thanks for sharing that video There were some great sounds and AWESOME playing in there. P.S, i am a dirty loops fan

 9.
Bump for a beauty. My offer still stands Chris
Thanks Graham, I will beat it in mind as you do have a very tasty jazz
 10. Thanks everyone for all the great / useful comments . It has been really interesting to hear opions etc. I have both 21 & 24 fretted bass guitars. 4 , 5 & 6 strings. I am no expert solo high end player. I bought a TRB 6 string bass to have ago and explore the high end of the fretboard. It is really interisting how each bass can sound and feel so different depending on number of frets / neck length etc.
 11.
I do go up the 'dusty end' (mostly out of sheer bl**dy mindedness ) but by the time you're up at the 24th fret the whole thing is just nonsense anyway. What is nice about having 24 frets is that you're left with a sensible space to play in without having to struggle.
Thats a great point , i never thought about it that way.
 12. Here is a shameless link to a great fretless bass that i currently hae for sale I know that am biased but it realy is a great bass with a nice neck and fab tone Here - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/166277-yamaha-trb-5-f/page__p__1543986__hl__trb__fromsearch__1#entry1543986
 13. That's a cracking looking bass. White is my favourite colour on a precision.
 14. I really like the look of the headstock on these bass guitars
 15.
Only of interest if you spend a lot of time up the dusty end, soloing and such. If you spend your time nearer the nut (like me) then it's irrelevant whether a bass has 21 or 24 frets. The number of strings is irrelevant too. All IMHO of course - others may think differently.
Thats cool , thanks for the reply. Do you think that the string length makes a difference to tone ??
 16. Hi, Can anyone please explain to me the pros and cons to either a 21 or 24 fretted bass guitar. I just want to understand things a little better. I am asking with refrence to a 5 string bass strung with a low B string Thanks muchley Chris

 18.
What's the weight of the maple TRB? I used to have the bubinga one and it was an excellent bass.
Hi, The TRB weighs 4.2 Kg , it is a great light bass guitar

 20. I don't regret selling my first bass guitar. It was an Encore Precision bass copy. I loved that bass as it sounded ok but had an awfull neck twist. i sold it to one of these local ganeric cash converter type of shop
 21. I have bought all of my current amps , cabs and bass guitars from bass chat. Bought a shed load , One trade deal I sold 2 bass guitars on behalf of a friend (non BC member) Not had any luck selling my own gear on BC as yet. I have only had one dodgy experience from another Bacer which did get sorted in the end. Other than that, bass chat has been a very positive experience Met some great people on here
