  1. Thankfully that problem will never arise, I'm blessed to be part of a huge stable of musicians. Let's just say that we have our Contemporary Carols service on Sunday and there will be a total of 22 musicians and singers taking part....there are still quite a few that won't be there as they're not needed.
  2. @LukeFRC It’s definitely positive, church were totally supportive of my decision 😁👍🏻. You were spot on, I was playing acoustic and singing because I could, rather than I should. I can now focus on solely playing bass, happy days 😁
  3. I have made the decision to focus solely on playing bass in church and, to step back from playing acoustic guitar, and singing. Bass is my passion, it's my forte and I know it's where I can best serve the Lord and my church. I only ever played guitar and sang in my last church because the Worship Leader left and I fell into the position, I did it for 3-4 years but never really enjoyed it. I know that I've made the right decision because I genuinely feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
  4. I don’t think you can wrong with planning it in E, that’s what I sing Great Big God in 😁👍🏻.
  5. For my church’s Contemporary Carol service in a couple of weeks, we have been asked to wear black, gold and red, I found this on Amazon….I’m tempted 😂 . .
  6. The first song I played live was LIVEWIRE by AC/DC, I was on bass and backing vocals and, it was at The George & Dragon pub in Epping in around 1990/91.
  7. Squier 60s Classic Vibe P-Bass in Olympic White with Red Tort pickguard for sale. It's in perfect condition, strung with La Bella 760FS flatwounds and it comes in an excellent padded gigbag, I'm only selling it to make room.
  8. I can enjoy the car crash / train wrecks now. I was one of the Worship Leaders in my last church but, now that I've joined a new church, I'm only down as a bass player, guitarist and singer. I can honestly say that I don't miss being a Worship Leader one bit 😁.
  9. Got to love car crash worship 😂, one Sunday in my old church, one of the Worship Leaders decided to start playing and singing completely the wrong song and she had the nerve to look at the rest of us like we were sh*t on her shoe . I don’t miss her one bit (she was the main reason I left that church).
  10. Passive 100%. My Squier 40th Anniversary Precision sounds amazing every time 😁👍🏻
  11. @BassAdder60 When you know, you know. Enjoy your ‘retirement’ 👍🏻
  12. Stick with what makes you happy, personally I only play flats but that's what makes the world of bass playing interesting, we all love different things.
  13. Referring back to a some previous posts about the church Tech Teams and sound engineers, I have to say that I can't fault my lot, they definitely know what they're doing and they always get a great sound. This came in very handy yesterday as I played acoustic and sang for the first time since I switched churches back in June (and I'm just getting over a snotty cold). I'm strictly rhythm and what I lack in finesse, I make up for in enthusiasm 😁 .
  14. YAMAHA all day long for me, I recently picked up an APX600 for a little over £200.
