I turned 56 in August and I feel like I’m just getting warmed up. My only gig is playing in my church Worship Team but, I play more now than I did in my 20’s and 30’s. I use a wider strap nowadays and my bass is a bit higher than it was in my metal/rock days but apart from that, I’m still learning, I’m still enjoying it and as long as God has a plan for me, I’ll keep on playing 👍🏻.

Anything with Niels Henning Orsted Pederson on bass is a must in my eyes, and ears 😁👍🏻

No cabs, everything we hear is through IEMs. I’ve only started using IEMs recently and I love them 😍

The silk windings on the new D’Addario strings certainly put the DUB into double bass 😂

@dmccombe7 I played my Squier 40th Anniversary P-Bass strung with La Bella Deep Talkin’ Bass flatwounds through a Boss TU-3 tuner, an Ampeg OCTOCOMP and a Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 XLR’d straight into the desk. My only gig is playing in my churches Worship Team, it always sounds great and the shorts are always tan 😁👍🏻

Thank you for the heads up, I have read on BC about fake strings being sold through Amazon. I’ll give them a thorough going over when they land 👍🏻

@Beedster I just found a great deal on Amazon, I got a set of D’Addario JC610 3/4M medium tension DB strings for £86, they’re normally around £145-150 😁👍🏻 #happydays

I need some new strings for my 3/4 EUB but my budget isn’t what it used to be, what cheap DB strings can anyone recommend? Thanks.

@Beedster Huge thanks for your input, I’ll definitely give gut strings a miss and stick with what I know.

Has anybody put gut strings on their EUB? I was thinking of putting a set on mine and wondered if anyone has tried it and, what they thought.

Here’s the pedalboard that my church supplies us bass players with 😁👍🏻

I played for the first time in my new church, I was on bass and it went brilliantly. The whole set-up is professionally run and it was a pleasure to be part of it, I’m on bass this Sunday too. I plugged into a pedal board that the church supply, I haven’t touched the settings, this is how I found it. @dmc79 I used my KZ ZS10 Pro IEM’s for the first time and I loved them, excellent bass response and all round great sound, I would definitely recommend them.

@bass_dinger I’m guilty as charged 😂 . I plan to enjoy every minute of it and embrace every aspect of being in a new church.

I wasn't due to start playing at my new church until September, when the next Worship Team rota came out but, I'm on bass on Sunday 18th August 😀. I don't want to slag my old church off because it was the right church at that time in my faith and in my musical journey but, I have to say that my new church is far more organized, better equipped and they have a better stable of musicians and I know that I'm going to enjoy myself, God has placed me here for a reason. There are some songs that the old church played that the new church don't and, vice versa so, I'm looking forward to seeing what the songs are and, starting the next chapter in my musical journey.

I have officially joined and I’’ll be on bass, acoustic guitar, lead vocals and I’ll be a Worship Leader too 😁, the new rota is being worked on as we speak and, it starts from September. I can’t wait to start playing, it’s a far better church and, the worship team is run so professionally, I’m a very happy musician 😁😁

Over the years I’ve played and owned Teles, Strats (hate them), Les Pauls and SGs but, I got rid of them all and now I’ve got a Yamaha APX600 and a 335, they are all I need 😃👍🏻.
