1. I know bands/artists need to progress/develop their sound has time passes to keep record sales coming in but - I won't be buying their new album. The Resistance had about 3 good songs and the rest of the album was w***. I've been a fan since the Showbiz days...
2. Fast delivery, easy comms, simple transaction from a top bloke.
3. I too thought he used a Jazz and flats but there you go... 'Ramble On' is my favourite Zep song - the bass line and tone is to die for.
4. Delete please
5. Every Time I Die were band of the weekend for me - shouldn't say it, but they did indeed very much crush it.
6. Brand new D'Addario Chromes flats - for some reason I got a second package free... £20 posted!
7. No thanks! I could turn down the Jazz pup on my bass and have a P anyway!
8. No thanks, I already have a Jazz.
9. It is indeed - I'm looking to move onto something different now. Lots of interest in this but please, no 5 stringers!
10. Too good to let go!
11. It's an age old argument - those who think it's about image are usually making up for the below par music, those who think it's about the music generally look like crap.
12.
No. At the risk of sounding like a broken record the only reason for an originals band to play for free is because they want to. There are paying gigs out there for bands playing their own material. You will probably need to put in more effort to get those than you need to for the free gigs, but they do exist. Put on a show when you play. Make use of all your contacts. Get to know other bands in your genre. If your home town doesn't want to know then play somewhere else - if you're being paid you can afford it. However playing for free because you believe there is no other way to get gigs is just defeatist and all it shows is that you've already given up.
This relates to what I quoted about supply and demand - there are hundreds of other originals bands out there so the minute I say "Are we getting paid?", the landlord will respond "No. Piss off 'cause we'll get another band instead". And more to the point - why would they pay you? They've never heard of you, don't know what you sound like until you send them a demo, have no idea what your stage show is like and can't guarantee X amount of people will come through the door. Supply and demand baby!
13.
Supply and demand I'm afraid.
+1. If my band turns down a gig because we're not getting paid then there are a hundred other bands in my city who will take the gig and get paid nothing. No wonder it's almost impossible to get anywhere in an originals band nowadays.
14. At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command.
15. Open to offers as well guys, not looking for trades ta.
16. As I'm looking to move onto valve heads, up for sale is my Ibanez Promethean. It's in good condition, just some minor wear to a couple of the knobs and the underside has a few small scratches but this is purely cosmetic damage and does not affect the head in anyway. The head also comes with the the four screws needed to plug into the combo (I only bought the head but they still supplied me with the screws?!) I can take more pictures on request but this is the only pic I have of the head at the moment: £250 + delivery. I am in Coventry. Tom
17. If I remember correctly, Flea (I don't know if it was to include a graphite neck or not) wanted to take the Stingray bass and rename it the Flea bass. Sterling Ball said piss off so Flea asked Modulus to come up with a Flea bass and the rest is history. I love Flea but if true, that was pretty dumb!
18. Buuuuuuurp.
19. Bumpage.
20. Withdrawn!
21. Cheers guys! Like I said it was hard to tell from the video and I only caught it for a split second.
22. Hey, I'm after some help with trying to find out what pedal this is - I think its an overdrive pedal but I might not be right. The pedal is black and is shaped like a BBE pedal. It has a purple triangle on it facing down. There are 3 silver knobs all on the left side vertically arranged. It has a stomp type switch (like any EHX pedal etc.) Any info would be great!
23. Moved back to Super Slinkys after a couple years using Dunlops. Great strings.
24. Anyone can learn it. Once you can jam, you learn the 'feel'. Once you have the feel, you can do anything.
