1.
Tom, given the choice at a gig would you use the Cort or your old Overwater? I've played on more Corts than Overwaters, both good usable basses with a big difference in price but if I were given the choice the Cort would be gathering dust. There are excellent basses for 4-500 quid out there but I'm yet to find one with the 'WOW' factor. That certain something the bass has as soon as you pick it up. Incidentally I've been mostly gigging with a £250 Squier Jazz lately which is great but not that great!
I hate it when you're right.
2. But why would I do that? I'd buy a decent bass with a decent neck in the first place...all I'm saying is you don't have to spend a lot to get a really good bass - when I say not a lot I mean under a grand.
3. And I didn't get that Fender because the seller pulled out - so the search for my Jazz continues! Can offer cash on top if I get a good offer.
4. So only expensive basses have good necks now?!
5.
I bought a custom bass because I wanted to. If I didn't want to, I wouldn't have. Simples. I don't doubt that for a second. Or that. But how do you work that out?
Because it was set-up properly.
6.
If I didn't get paid for playing then I couldn't justify being in a band.
Part of my soul just died a little bit then.
7. Why do people bite so quickly round here?! I could buy a boutique bass and I could afford one right now if I wanted but I don't buy one - why? Because I can get a nice tone on something that's cheaper, just as comfortable and probably nicer to play. And I can put it in a Transit and not worry about "my baby"... Yeah, a lot of people who are given boutique instruments might not deserve it but then again, I've always judged someone on their playing and not their gear. Seems some people do the opposite to that.
8. Then there are those bands who have "all the gear and no idea" - I've seen too many.
9. I think to play a "boutique/custom" bass you need to have earnt the right first. And by that I mean got to a good level of playing. I think I have got to a good level of playing but I still would be able to do what I do on a cheaper bass.
10. I was looking for a trade! And this thread is now closed has I have found a bass and the K5 is off to a new home.
11. Yeah it is but it has the added bonus of a Synapse hook. I'm looking for a trade atm Russ but if I get no offers then I may sell.
12. This might be unsuccessful but here goes... I'm looking for a 4 string Jazz bass but would like to trade one of my basses. The bass would need to be in a good condition though! I can offer you: Ibanez K5 with ACG EQ 02 preamp (very good condition, just a bit of buckle rash on the back of the bass) OR Tokai MIJ Precision (2007) with Fender alnico pups (mint condition) OR Steinberger Synapse (very good condition) I am in Coventry. Tom
13. I got an A by playing a very simple piece - I showed I could play through scales, pentatonics and arpeggios.
14. Great bass, mine has had an ACG02 pre-amp installed and made it even better!
15.
4 tweeters?!?! wow! I've always had 1 tweeter cabs...how's the sound with 4!?
I don't know has I prefer cabs without tweeters but I presume it would sound mega.
16. There are tweeters but they are disconnected - it's a very easy job to connect them though.
17. Because they have been replaced by the "Jack" which is supposed to be even better than the Omni's!
18. Still available.
19. Cheers Andy, has you said these Omni's are superb cabs. I am open to trades too so if you have any lightweight cabs and are interested in trading I can offer money your way too.
20. Forgot to mention, the Omni 10 has been discontinued so you won't be seeing many of these for sale!
21. I've seen sense.
22. That "rubbish" bass player for Papa Roach writes all their music.
23. My GSR205 was an awesome bass so I'm sure this will be more of the same. Carry on.
24.
bump for it awaiting ebay result soon
eBay result?
