1.
I had an HT Dual, utterly gorgeous for guitar, I have heard folks use it for bass too. It has amazing tone and tone flexibility. I sold my entire guitar rig though and got a POD X3 Live. I now also have a Blackstar HT5-C valve combo for recording guitar, it is based on the pedal circuits. It's lovely too. I am seriously impressed and I reckoned a while ago Blackstar will be very big one day. Give 'em a try sometime.
I have the Blackstar HT-Drive and it is a superb overdrive.
2. The GK heads are good. I was after an Ampeg-ish sound from my Peavey but instead of buying a valve head, I just bought a Blackstar overdrive which has a valve in it meaning I can get pretty close to the valve goodness. Go GK/Warwick/Peavey.
3. Mine dosen't.
4. Anything by Ibanez?
5. I have a Nobels overdrive for lower drive stuff and its a pretty good pedal IMO. They're not that expensive either.
6. I was after the same thing has the TS and I ended up getting the Blackstar HT-Drive. It has a valve in it which is being pushed when you turn on so you get all that valve goodness. One of the best overdrives I've used in ages. And it's built like a tank too.
7. Nowadays, the Chinese can build basses as well as anyone. I think having MIA on your bass now dosen't necessarily mean it's a better bass. I'd have an MIJ anyday.
8.
If it frustrates you then perhaps just bump your threads more?
But this in turn would make other people bump their threads more...
9. You're gonna be pleased! I have this bass and it is fantastic. Just to confirm the prices, the guy I bought it off said it cost him £1k new all those years ago.
10.
I beleive it's exactly the same as the Eden valve amp - assembled in the same factory with a different badge put on it??
I've heard the same thing too...
11. I've got the Digitech bass chorus and I think it's a good pedal - better than the Boss one definately.
12. Going secondhand is your best bet. Is there a specific reason you want to buy new? You can find a few bargains on here if you look through the for sale section.
13.
Dont get hung up on meaningless cab power ratings.
What? There's more of a chance of the cab farting if he got the TP over the XL.
14. The Hartke 210TP can only handle 150w at 8 ohms... Go for the 210XL as that can handle 200w at 8 ohms.
15. There's a good site called Google.
16. I keep repeating myself but I would go for the Peavey Tour 450. Underrated head IMO.
17. Schroeder Mini 12L.
18. Cheers for that.
19. I can think of only one reason why you would put a hole in your bass...
20. Ha ha! I have the exact same bass - only difference is it's bolt on and the graphite section running though it finishes just after the neck.
21. I've got a Peavey Zodiac DE and it beats any MIM Fender I've played...I'll have to compare it to MIJ's and MIA's soon.
22. I use D'Addario's and I play hard rock/metal. I've been using them for about a year now and they're very good strings.
23. My mini rig for smaller gigs: Status Graphite Energy 4 Peavey Tour 450 Schroeder Mini 12L

25. So where do you plug your bass in? I'm guessing there would be an on board power amp if the speakers were active. Would you use your bass has the pre amp then?
