1. Replied.
2. Coventry - I say so in the first post.
3.
dammit! i just spent £200 on an epi thunderbird! this is cool! what sort of sound does it make? what basses would you compare it to? just interested cos i don't think i've seen that sort of pickup before. im guessing its a humbucker? anyway, a status for £200! i'm suprised this hasn't already gone! good luck with the sale.
It's quite woody to my ears, I would say it sounds a bit like a Stingray but with elements of a Warwick about it. Yes, the pickup is a humbucker.
4. Believe me it is blue, it's just a very pale blue.
5. Just to confirm there are no trades (matthewsanchez that chorus pedal is staying - it's brilliant once you know how to use the X knob! (Digitech Bass Chorus BTW)). I've had 2 offers that are legit and I'm waiitng to see if anyone buys it before then.
6. Another bump.
7. Proof that US basses are not the best - I've always thought with Fender you were just paying for the name. There of plenty of basses under £500 that can easily blow a £1k bass out the water.
8. Good - that's one thing sorted.
9.
I thought the Sharks had the graphite rods in the neck??
Yeah, but the actual neck isn't graphite, to quote LukeFRC: -
although it wil have graphite in the neck
I thought he meant the actual neck...
10.
although it wil have graphite in the neck
NO IT WON'T!!!
11. What would you rather spend £200 on? A bass made in Korea down to a price or a bass handbuilt in England by one of the country's finest luthiers?
12. Another bump. This is a top quality 5 stringer - someone could get themselves a bargain!
13. Come on people - these are in A+++ condition!
14.
Thanks for that suggestion but I'm not very close to Coventry. I don't have a lot of experience of 4x10 cabs either, but the ones I do have experience I didn't much like the sound of, so I'd be a bit hesitant on that anyway. For the moment I think it's best to stick with a 1x15. Thanks again though.
(Why didn't I think of plugging my own stuff...?) Trust me 4x10's are like 1x15's but much better. More speakers so that means easier to cope with sound (more efficient) i.e. 4 speakers not just 1. 4x10's cover more area so are louder than a 1x15 and 4x10's can get a good low sound too. Those cabs are a bargain - they are near enough brand new.
15.
Based on the fact that that fret king looks like cheap rubbish, i'd go for the ibanez, they're pretty good.

It's not cheap, actually, his price is just about the Ibby...
Pwned.
16. The back of the neck is obviously graphite from the pics! A member inquired about if it had a graphite neck or not - for £200 it don't!
17. Cheers for the bump! By the way, this bass does not have a graphite neck - it has a maple neck. I'd have to be very stupid to sell it for £200 with a graphite neck. And anyway, how can it have a graphite neck if the back of the neck looks very un-graphite?
18.
I live near to Nevada music in Pompey and they have a fairly decent range of basses.
I've been to there a few times - good range of basses and guitars.
19. Bear in mind Ashdown's reputation for reliability isn't much better than Behringer.
20. The Ibanez SR500 is a great bass but another bass you should check out is the ESP Ltd D-4. I played one the other day and it has a very good tone - perhaps even better than the SR500. In fact I preferred the D-4 to the SR500. Specs: * Merbau body * Neck-through-body construction * 5-piece mahogany-maple neck * 34" scale * Standard 42mm nut * Rosewood fingerboard * 24 XJ frets * Black nickel hardware * Grover tuners * ESP BB-604 string-thru-body bridge * ESP SB-4 pickup set * Volume and balance controls * ESP ABQ3 3-band active EQ You can pick this bass up for £329 online. It also came of no surprise to me when I read that the D-4 won Guitar & Bass Magazine 2007 award for best bass under £1000.
21. Thanks for the interest but bear in mind if I have another offer before you make one then the cabs will be gone. First come first served I'm afraid.
22. Bumpage.
