    Darkglass Anagram

Yeh exactly what @MrDinsdale says, so for example there’s guy done DCX Bass captures - he’s done all the example settings and a few others, so you can select any of them to use if you download them. I just guessed how to do it, but it’s super easy. Basically go to www.tone3000.com and download the NAM files you want, they’re zip files so unpack them first. Then connect your Anagram to the computer and the DG suite etc, then go to ‘Asset Loader’ then select NAM or Neural uploads - it’s next to the IR tab which is what it opens up to when you select asset loader. Then it’s just ‘select files to upload’ and you go upload the NAM files you’ve downloaded to your computer. They all upload as Amps by default but you change it to Pedal or Misc - the reason this matters is when you select a Neural Amp block there is a 4 band EQ with 2 x mid frequency selection), Neural Pedal has input/output Bol and blend (the most useful control on the whole pedal for me), and Misc just has input/output vol. It’s really intuitive, and super easy to do - and this is from someone who had a Stomp for 6 months before actually learning how to do snapshot mode properly 😁 you really can’t go wrong,

    Darkglass Anagram

Ah nice one - I’ll have a look at those today, thanks very much. Going by your videos you use dirt in a way I really like so I’m sure there’ll be some stuff I’ll use in there!

    Darkglass Anagram

I bought mine this week - traded in cash plus my Stomp XL that’s probably done 100+ gigs with me in the last year so it’s a bit of a leap of faith, but I have to say it’s knocked my socks off - everything about it is fantastic. I hope over time it’s going to get a larger array FX as I did used to love going through the Stomp and finding some random drive or delay etc that I’d never looked at before that suddenly nailed a sound for me, and it’s not really going to be the case as much on this as there’s not huge amounts of stuff on there in comparison, although if you take the guitar stuff off the Stomp and just count Bass stuff they’re probably pretty comparable Game changer for me has been the NAM player - found some cracking captures on Tone3000, my favourite being the Kasleder Albatross Fuzz! https://www.tone3000.com/tones/kasleder-albatross-30490 Also the DCX Bass: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/origin-effects-dcx-bass-28027 And I’ve been liking the B-Side Gain from the Jad Freer Capo: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jad-freer-capo-31244 Any suggestions of other NAM captures to look out for would be very welcome. The Alabatross fuzz has some beautiful low gain fuzz settings, which if you save it as a NAM Pedal (rather than Amp or Misc) you get a blend control available so you can tweak it to give you a really sweet always on low gain fuzz tone, I’ve combined it with a LPF for an easy to switch on ‘vintage tone rolled off’ sound. I did similar on the Stomp, but this sounds SO much better
  4. I’ve had a US 55/94 and it was great no doubt, but these are easily 90% of the way there, there’s an awfully large premium on the 55/94’s when the electronics are identical so they sound no different, the difference is the neck. The U.S. Lakland necks are really amazing, but they’re not worth and extra 2-3 grand - I think it says more about how good the Skylines are than anything negative about the U.S. ones.
  5. Up for sale is my absolutely stunning 5 string 2020 Lakland Skyline 55/02 in trans purple. It has an ash body with beautiful quilted maple top, an ebony fretboard on a flat-sawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement bars. This bass is in excellent condition, it’s been gigged but has been very well looked after and there’s no obvious damage - it’s just not a brand new bass, I’d say it’s 9/10 and can’t find anything specific to note that’s negative about it 35” Scale with a 1.81” nut width, 22 fret with a radius of 10-13”. It is strung with Sadowsky blue label nickel 45-130T’s with the Tapered B string, so the combination of these strings and the Lakland neck gives this bass one of the best sounding B strings you could ask for. Pickups and preamp are both Lakland’s own LH3 which are in both the U.S. 55/94 and 55/02’s as stock. The preamp is Vol/Blend/Treb/Mid/Bass (cut and boost), however you can open the control panel in the band and change the frequency of the Mid control using the dip switches (275/600/900/1100hz). There is also a coil tap for the bridge humbucker pickup - towards the neck and engages the front coil only (60’s jazz) mid position is the full humbucker (both coils - stingray mode) and pointed towards the bridge is rear coils only (70’s jazz). The front pickup only also does a pretty convincing P Bass sound for a bass that’s clearly not a P Bass making this one of the most insanely versatile basses you can get - it’s extremely hard to get a bad sound out of this (trust me I’ve done my best! 😁) Included in the sale is an almost new ‘Protection Racket’ gigbag and Shipping via DPD Next Day (within the UK). It’ll be extremely well packaged and boxed so it’s safe for the journey, or collection from DH2, County Durham is also welcome Priced for a quick sale, no trades and no offers - this is a superb quality bass, at a very good price. Thanks for looking £875 shipped
  6. Same - I tried to check out but there was no way past ‘delivery options’ and so I couldn’t complete the purchase. Probably for the best looking at the size of the box 😁
  7. HX Stomp XL with original box, power supply & all paperwork/instructions etc that came with it. I’ve gigged this extensively - it’s still working perfectly and is in good condition, with just the odd mark/scratch on the finish, but nothing major and nothing on the screen. Duo lock underneath which I can remove for you if you don’t want it I have bought 2 of Ian Martin Allison’s preset packs at the cost of just over £70. The two preset packs that are on there are the: Signature Pack https://ianmartinallison.com/store/signature-pack Classic Amp Pack https://ianmartinallison.com/store/classic-amp-pack Theres also presets from Austin Beveridge and Tim Kirschke in there, and a fair few other ones from the Line 6 user library I have used this pedal for loads of different gigs, and if you’re new to Helix there’s quite a few presets in there for you to use ready to gig that I have used, so if you feel a bit worried about getting used to a new piece of kit then there’s loads of useable stuff there so you can just get playing immediately, obviously if you already know your stuff they still might be useful - the Ian Allison ones are excellent either way £425 inc free shipping

  8. Yeh I mean I know the guy so I’m biased, but he would (and has) genuinely say if a product is shit, and isn’t afraid to point out issues even if they’ve sent him the pedal for free, so it’s nice for me to see it from the other side, and hope the bass reviewers I watch are similarly credible
  9. GP-50 review by my bandmate Lee 👇 here for anyone who’s interested, looks good value still and much better having a screen and two footswitches - just the fact it does NAM captures makes it worth the price alone - some excellent captures of stuff like the DCX Bass and the Jad Freer Capo which can either save you a lot of money, or give you a chance to try the sounds before committing serious money to them. Saying that I’m buying an Anagram on Monday 🤣
  10. Best bass chorus there is IMO hands down,
  11. Seriously?!? I wish they’d told me about it! They could have at least sent me an email?! I’m totally sick of being stuck in one area of the fretboard..!
  12. The first lot of five strings like this and the BB5000 seemed to have really skinny string spacing!
  13. This ☝️ I think a lot of people have bought it because they get all gassed up by the YouTube videos, but then realise they don’t have any particular need for it in a live setting. Tracking wise I found that it wasn’t as good as I thought Ian Allison made it look and said it was but I don’t blame him for that - he was pretty transparent, his technique for it is just flawless. The tracking is still good, but you do have to play a certain way. For simplicity and having the main sounds a gigging cover/wedding/function band bassist is likely to need at your fingertips the MXR absolutely kills it, that was a very astute piece of design/marketing. People don’t necessarily understand filters and square waves etc and so find the C4 and FI overwhelming, I don’t think it’s necessarily that the MXR is better than either of them (I’ve never had an FI to comment - the FI sounds top drawer in the examples @Quatschmacher posted up earlier in the thread) but the C4’s editor certainly baffled me and I ended up getting rid fairly quickly as I just needed a couple of tones for certain tunes and had neither the time nor the inclination to bother to work it all out. The MXR is set & forget if you want it to be, and that suits the majority I think
  14. Makes a huge difference imo, I also think the rest of the preamp is better quality too - zero noise from the treble boost etc which wasn’t the case before. I’ve just updated the listing to mention that the pickups are the Sadowsky hum free stacked jazz bass pickups, no single coil hum, inside of bass is all copper shielded as well
  15. I’ve not got luggage scales but using bathroom scales with and without the bass it’s weighing 4.3kg - pretty average for 5st jazz, if you get a nice wide padded strap as I have, it seems to balance it pretty well. I’ve got rheumatoid arthritis and have done multiple 2 hour gigs on this without any issues. Cheers
  16. 2nd Gen Sadowsky MetroExpress Jazz 5 string in Olympic white with tort. Upgraded preamp with VTC, in good nick - has been gigged but looks really nice and clean, just may be the odd superficial mark from general use - it looks absolutely stunning tho. Roasted maple neck & fretboard, 18mm spacing (upgrade to Metroline bridge for 19mm spacing - works fine in this neck if that’s what you wanted). Edit: The pickups are noiseless/hum free pickups rather than single coil Absolutely fantastic B string - really good, which shocked me, even tone all over the bass, plays amazingly well with a great neck - this is worthy of the Sadowsky name and is night and day better than the first gen (I’d say it’s what you’d have expected Gen 1’s to be) Looking to trade for a decent P Bass (I can add money on top for the right bass) or straight sale price - £595 Comes with Sadowsky padded gig bag - shipping can be arranged for £20 via DPD
  17. I managed to find this again which suggests it’s a 2nd gen Edit: It comes from a blog post on a site I’ll link below 👇 it’s got this table for all the Sire basses that came out as Gen1, quite useful if you like that sort of thing (like I do 😁 haha). https://gsus4.com.au/blogs/news-promo/whats-new-2nd-gen-sire-bass?srsltid=AfmBOooMUHWtuQszqBm5NqKQabfJtub5oqkYPAcLS5tcJuEBKRBirlmW On another note @Davy I’m only down the road from you and if this is till here first week of Jan I’ll come up and get this
  18. That’s what I noticed - I would have bought the 3/4 size if that was reduced, I might still buy this full size one although I suspect it’s going to be too tall for my summer house/man cave where all my music stuff lives
  19. I’m not 100% but I’m pretty sure the wooden screw plate battery cover this one has was a second gen thing, upgraded from the plastic ones you could clip shut on gen 1’s
  20. Updated some trade options before I pull it!
