It’s less than I can get for it selling to trade, I’ve been offered £800 to trade it in - and that’s what I’ll be doing if someone doesn’t buy it pretty quickly. I’m not leaving it up for ages, I genuinely thought I’d have had a lot of interest - I’ve got the exact same bass in sunburst with different electronics and I paid £1599 for it, these are up with Sadowsky Metroline etc in terms of build quality

For sale is a fantastic sounding & playing Mayones Jabba Classic 5 active super jazz with SD Bassline pickups and a Sadowsky VTC preamp. It comes in a semi hard case with a white and spare black Scratchplate, and spare black bridge and silver control plate as well as strap locks & Dimarzio strap. 24 frets, block inlays and 34.25” scale it’s an incredibly comfy bass to play with a nice slim neck. This bass sounds and plays fantastically well, like a bass that costs well over £2k new - a proper boutique jazz bass! These are the Good points, however it’s extremely cheap because it has its faults too.. Bad Points: The bad points or point is quite simply the body/finish is a bit rough. The worst of it as at the back - there’s some pretty heavy buckle rash, and then around the edges the finish has worn down to a matte, now it’s a trans black finish anyway and so you can’t see it too badlY around the edges/front but it’s there and the buckle rash you can definitely see, although it’s obviously not visible when you’re playing If this bass’s body/finish was in great nick then it would without a doubt sell for £1300-£1500+. There’s nothing wrong with the neck (it’s a 34.25” scale with a great low B), the hardware and electronics are premium, basically if you don’t mind the finish being a bit rough you can get this bass for half the price it’d be in Bass Direct etc. I really didn’t know how to price this, and I am sure it’s underpriced for what you’re getting - this is a top top end Boutique bass - you’ll barely find a Mayones anywhere for under £1700, but I have 2 now and honestly I need the money I’m afraid! This will make a fantastic gigging bass for someone, apart from the buckle rash and dulling of the finish in places there’s nothing wrong with it, most of it is hidden at the back anyway and you can’t really see it on stage anyway. I have priced this tho sell quickly - I feel like this is an absolute steal for somebody, the sound, neck, playability and electronics are all top drawer. Comes in a semi hard case, shipping can be arranged for £25

Just Traded my Overwater with Keir for a Mayones Jabba that I had previously owned. Bass came back to me playing better than when it left & always a pleasure to deal with Keir

Got this through the post on Saturday - wow! Very impressed with it so far, really adds a little bit of magic to your tone - I had the mk1 a while ago but this is a pretty big upgrade on that - highly recommended

As said already a Tapered B string of the correct gauge (I used 135’s) worked great in making a B that sounded a bit flabby sound a whole lot better. I have a 35” Lakland jazz and the B is fantastic, and a 34.25” Mayones Jabba which again has a great B so I’m not sure scale length alone is everything, but I’ve had several Fender V’s and the B string has never really been “good” on any of them - tapered B string definitely fixed it somewhat, but I generally swerve Fender 5’s - they make fantastic passive 4 string basses, so they’re all I really look at from them now (unless I can play it first)

Don’t see many of the new Sansamp’s out in the wild - how do you rate it?

GMR Soundboard custom 4 - Trade for a 5 string
Paddy777 replied to Philly's topic in Basses For Sale
This might be worth a look if you’re after a 5st one - they’ll no doubt take that in Trade too Id have thought, although will probably cost you a bit of cash too, which might not be ideal! https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/gmr-soundboard-5-string-pre-owned/ I really like GMR basses - that’s a proper bargain for £550! -

I had a raspberry burst one of these, they’re much nicer than standard Stingrays, I prefer the preamp on the specials too, it felt like the high end was tamed a bit which I much preferred - I ended up punting it on tho cos I couldn’t live with the ‘slippy G’ string. It’s definitely a looker, I agree tho MusicMan seem to be concentrating on these higher end production basses, you can tell they’re an expensive bass when you’ve got it in your hands for sure 👌🏼

I didn’t know much about Phish or Mike Gordon prior to watching this, but he seems like he can play a bit and his pedalboard setup is massive and really interesting. Just thought I’d share it with some like minded effects nerds, as I can’t see it posted anywhere!

I think I’m going to give the FI v4 a go listening to those - there’s some excellent sounds there, at least I can get hold of one of these 😁 I like the Chaka Khan ones on the playlist especially. Tbf I have heard of multiple people that the tracking on the v4 is outstanding

Right someone needs to buy this I think 😁 £135 shipped - I’m taking an almost 50% loss from what I paid to import it, and this is a monster of a preamp if you’re an SVT head, this is an absolute steal! This video 👇 is a guy on TalkBass who gives it a good run thru and shows what it an do at fairly low gain (mostly 9-11 o’clock or less), into a cab, and running other drives into it, specifically how this preamp run fairly clean can make some pretty cheap drives sound good run into it. Anyway make your own mind up, I thought it sounded good

I’ve got an almost identical system and have the identical piece of silver gaffa tape over the LH hole on the back too 😁 made me chuckle haha. They’re absolutely solid systems - I mount the transmitter on my board most the time - but I’ve also had it rack mounted in an old tribute and it never missed a beat

For sale is my Overwater Inspiration 5 string bass. This was made at Overwater UK by Chris May & the team, the Inspiration series were made in small batches (rather than custom order) to a price point with fewer options than the Progess (particular with regards to woods available etc - pickups & hardware etc are the same as any UK Overwater), so that it could be sold cheaper than the Custom Progress basses - a similar idea to the first Japanese MetroExpress basses that Sadowsky Japan did Make no mistake though, this is absolutely still a handmade Boutique bass and absolutely sounds and plays like one too. It is in very good condition, comes with a branded overwater hard case and also with a leather DSLR branded strap that has Schaller strap locks on to fit the bass. It has an Ash body with Flamed maple top, maple neck & maple fretboard, and proprietary Overwater pickups & 3B preamp with push/pull active/passive switching This bass plays absolutely amazingly well as you’d expect and sounds fantastic - full, clear tone which can fit into anything. The neck is amazingly comfortable, thunderous low B with piano like clarity from bottom to top Year - 2015 Colour - Natural Body Finish - Gloss Body Wood - Ash w/ Flame Maple facing Neck Finish - Satin Neck Wood - Maple Fretboard - Maple Frets - 24 Scale Length - 35" Weight - 9lbs13oz I paid £1375 for this a couple of months ago and have used it for a few gigs but I am really using my active Lakland 55/AJ a lot more for the gigs I’m doing, and cannot afford to have this sort of money tied up in a bass that’s not being used all the time: I’ve seen something else I want so I have put this up for sale at very good price - it’s priced to sell (and any trade would have to take that into account when valuing their own bass) Trades: Im looking for a sale really, however trade or PX may be possible (5st only) for the right thing, but not particularly likely. However I would definitely look at a Yamaha BBP35 & maybe a Sandberg VM5 - P flavoured & 5 string preferably, but will look at other stuff - try me I’ve taken a hit on it - it’s in excellent condition and someone will genuinely get a bargain here Price is £1150 - located in County Durham, delivery can be arranged

As new Genzler ‘Magellan Pre’ with box. 3 band preamp (with parametric mids), HPF & DI with A/B contour channel changeable by footswitch & set by dial. Same preamp and contours as is on the Genzler Magellan amp heads Channel A = Modern, mid scoop/Hi & Low Boost - sounds excellent for funk, R&B, slap, pop and many other styles and manages to have a mid scoop eq’d that doesn’t get lost in the mix! Channel B = Vintage, roll off highs & high mids, low mid boost and cut the ultra lows giving a really nice sound for more old school music - again can bet set from flat to subtle through to max - it’s very hard to get a a bad sound from the pedal, super transparent and very musical EQ & contours Check out the videos below for some idea of the sounds, but if you like a clear transparent preamp you won’t get a much better sound than this, and the switchable contours are some proper ‘tone magic’ Genzler Magellan Preamp/DI Pedal Features: Wide Range Input Circuitry Input and Master Volume Controls Variable High Pass Filter Switchable Dual Contours (A & B) Independent Contour Controls Same Magellan 3 Band EQ w/Sweepable Mids Signal mute Preamp Output—Capable of driving a Separate Power Amp Aux Input Headphone Output Studio Quality Direct Out Circuitry w/Pre or Post and GND Lift Lightweight Aluminum Chassis Construction Operates on any Power Supply Voltage: 9 – 18VDC, either Polarity (power supply not included) Dimensions: 6” (152mm) W x 4.3” (110mm ) D (w/ jacks) x 2.5” (63mm) H (w/ knobs and feet) Weight: 1.1 lb (0.5kg) Bought recently from Bass Direct for a fair bit more than the asking price so grab a bargain - has box and instructions Price = £165 with UK Shipping *May Trade for an EBS MicroBass II* DEMO VIDS:
