  1. Cort Elrick NJS5 - 35” scale 24 Fret Active Jazz Bass with custom Bartolini preamp & Cort branded gigbag - Reduced to £550 inc U.K delivery For sale is my almost new black Cort Elrick NJS5 24 fret jazz bass. I paid almost a grand for this in June and it’s still in almost as new condition - I have probably played 10-15 gigs with it, so there is some very light swirling on the pickguard, so it’s not absolutely ‘as new’ but it’s near as you’ll get, and it’s priced very competitively - I’m taking quite a hit, and as far as 5 string jazz basses go I can’t see anything close to this for this sort of money It’s absolutely lovely to play - the neck heel is wonderful comfortable, it’s got a super fast neck and it’s really difficult to get a bad sound from it - it has a custom Bartolini preamp that is only put in these basses and in the Elrick handmade NJS basses (exact same preamp in both), it has bass & treble cut/boost, and the mids are push/pull switchable between 400hz/800hz cut & boost This bass sounds absolutely fantastic live - I’ve used it on 80’s gigs, rock gigs and all the function stuff inbetween and it just does what you want, the B and all the notes under low E are really clear and defined, and even with the preamp flat it gives you a beautiful tone I am gutted to be selling it and would absolutely love to keep it, but I have two active 5 string jazzes, well as a Yamaha TRB1005 and I’ve put a deposit on something expensive and need to get it cleared! I have played A LOT of Jazz 5’s and this is absolutely one of the best, however my other jazz 5 is the best I’ve played and I need to pay off my next purchase Trades? I need the cash really, BUT I do need a P Bass, I’ve been looking at things like the MIJ Fender reissues, and could potentially put cash in for the right one (even tho it’ll leave me in a worse position than I am now with the bass I’m buying! 😆 But it’ll save me buying a PBass next month!) Delivery within the U.K. is included in the price, it comes in a really high quality padded, embroidered Cort branded gig bag and I’ll package it up well for the journey - I’ve posted loads of basses before without issue Reduced to £550
  2. I wonder if these will fit a Sadowsky MetroExpress 1st Gen 4 string Jazz..? Is the size of these pickups uniform or do they have different sizes out? Just I’ll try and measure up the Sadowsky then find the official measurements for these online and see if they fit. I’ve got a track record of buying JB pickups that don’t fit tho 🤦‍♂️ so I wanna try and make sure this time!
  3. Ok - does it have a power supply & can it run on batteries?
  4. Can you power this off a normal pedal board power supply? Cheers
  5. and https://bassbros.co.uk/product/shuker-custom-jazz-5/ Either of the Shuker basses, for £1200, are likely in the same league as the top brands already mentioned like Sei, Lull, honestly possibly above the Sadowsky Metroline stuff, it’s difficult to know - the QC of Warwick Metroline stuff seems to be somewhat questionable - Bullythakidd on YouTube for example bought an MMJ 5 string Metroline and seemed unimpressed with the QC, and it is a production bass, albeit a very good one, whereas Sei & Shuker are handmade. Doesn’t necessarily make them better for you personally though, you need to play them and see what it is that you like - especially with that sort of budget.
  6. ACG’s are amazing basses - there was a 5,string active in the classified in a sort of MM/J pickup config for a grand recently and it’s without a doubt in terms of sheer quality the best value bass I’ve seen in ages - handmade with top tier electronics, really beautiful instruments
  7. My Cort Elrick NJS5 has a really shallow neck, very easy to play
  8. I fully get this as well - one of my favourite basses to play live is a Sadowsky MetroExpress PJ5 and I pick it over basses that cost 3 and 4 times as much, I also preferred my Sire P7 to pretty much all my other basses when I had it. Objectively it’s easiest to say “what’s best” but yeh what’s best is what you play and go “oh this is amazing” and if that only costs £600 or whatever then go with it anyway and save the dough, definitely agree with that
  9. Even the best Cort Jazz bass (the NJS5 which is excellent, and I own one) isn’t even in the conversation next to a used Sadowsky, Mike Lull, Sei etc for £2k. A great jazz bass for the money but a level below some of the ones he could realistically get within his budget.
  10. I would honestly go with this exact bass - handmade, Bartolini & East electronics which are the best there are. Sei Basses are unbelievable and you’re getting a lot more instrument for your money than picking up a Fender at the same price, a LOT more
  11. I think so - Bartolini 59CBJD-L3/LN3 pickups that are in there Edit - I think they’re hum cancelling actually in which case they’ll be duals
  12. That’s Rocco 😁 Named after Mr Prestia - I didn’t realise he was there till after and I liked the photo so just thought fk it I’ll keep him in haha 😆
  13. This is the absolutely amazing MTD Kingston Saratoga 5 String Active Jazz Bass MTD Kingston basses are assembled in China, but they are then shipped to the US MTD factory in Kingston, New York and then finished off & QC checked there, meaning these are extremely high quality compared to anything else coming out of the Far East This bass has had the electronics upgraded to Bartolini, so it has Bartolini Jazz pickups and a 3B Bartolini preamp with 3 way mid selector (250/500/800hz), giving you the same electronics as the US version (the US version costing about $4k+) so combined with the excellent US QC these instruments get, you’re getting pretty close to a US MTD for a fraction of the Cost. The MTD Kingston Saratoga 5 new is £1199 from Bass Direct, and the Bartolini pickups and preamp run to just over £400, so this bass is really excellent value for money It has a few chips out the finish as this was my main gigging bass for almost a year, and this is reflected in the price. It has BRAND NEW DR Fat Beams on it which sound and feel amazing Controls are: Volume (with push/pull active/passive), Blend, Bass, Mid, Treble (all boost and cut) and 3 way mid selector switch (250/500/800hz) This sounds unbelievable, and with the asymmetric neck that all MTD basses have make for an unbelievably comfortable playing experience - this is a very high end bass for not a lot of money. Shipping is available at cost Trades or PX very welcome, can add cash for the right bass so just send me a message Reduced: £575 (Bit of a quick reduction - It’s up for £650 on Facebook but stuff needs to be a bit more competitively priced on here so I’ve basically knocked it down to what I realistically want/expect for it)
  14. Is this still available?
  15. For sale (or trade) is my Markbass tube compressor bought on here for £100 a couple of months ago Really versatile & great sounding compressor with the actual compression done via the Tube - only reason I’m selling is that I’ve minimised and gone back to the Lusithand Alma comp Works great, takes 12v power supply (not included - pedal board 12v slot on TruTone, Caline and generic Universal power supply plug from Amazon all worked for me) Check the reviews of it here from the two absolute best Bass comp aficionados on the net: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/markbass.shtml https://www.compressorpedalreviews.com/post/markbass-compressore-review I need an octave pedal asap so happy to trade for that, but I’d rather someone got to use it and I got it shifted quickly rather than sitting on it weeks waiting for it to sell so I don’t mind taking the hit £70 inc postage - which is an absolute steal in anyone’s book!

  16. Wow - I know what I’m gonna be getting soon! I’ll still want to put the VTC on however - is it easy to fit it using the upgrade kit?
  17. Well this is now sold mate so it makes it a bit easer for you! Haha. Sadowsky is still there, and IMHO the better value of the 2 basses - its a ridiculously good Bass for the money
  18. Also - if buyer prefers it I can put a white pickguard on it (I quite like the tort one on my sunburst anyway) it looks really good - especially if you’re gonna do the decal
  19. Absolutely fantastic - I’m not just saying that, please go on YouTube and check some of the demos & reviews (Low End Lobster’s review & playthrough video was the one that persuaded it was worth getting) I’ve had a couple of 5 string Fender Jazz’s and I’d honestly say the B is better on this Once I’ve sold this one I’m literally only going to go and buy the same bass in Vintahe White! 🤣 I have too many sunburst basses and I saw a White one for sale near me, and so I’ve put this up nice and cheap to sell quickly so I can pick the white one up (it’s costing me almost £100 to change colours but I’ll be keeping it - they’re absolutely cracking basses)
  20. Hi mate - it’s 18mm I think all Sire 5’s are 18mm & all Sire 4’s are 19mm, certainly all the Fender shaped ones are, the M series and new Z series might be different, but I don’t really bother with those models myself. Hope that helps 👍
  21. Sire Marcus Miller P5R-5 String P Bass (Tobacco Sunburnt/Tort Pickguard) For sale is my 5 string Sire P-Bass. It is their latest , and best passive P Bass model, the “R” in P5R standing for ‘Rosewood’ as these have Rosewood fingerboards rather than roasted maple, giving them a look much more in keeping with a traditional P-Bass The P5R also has the upgraded “Marcus Vintage-Fat Precision Revolution Split Coil” pickup from the older P5’s which is as good as any P pickup I’ve played, it sounds like a proper vintage P Bass with extended lower range than the older pickups on the P5’s. @Bassdude BE wrote a great review of these basses when they first came out here: 5 string P Basses are pretty hard to come by, and your main option is usually Fender USA’s at over £1k even used. The quality looks and Sound of this bass and epic playability puts it on a par with basses 4 x as expensive, IMO it’s the best bass that Sire have made (and I’ve tried most of them!). Condition is really good, I’ve gigged it a few times but it’s still in excellent condition. It’s lightweight especially for a 5, and has many premium features such as string through body and Rolled edge fretboard only found on US Fender’s. I bought it from Bass Gallery about 6 months ago for £450 and it came really nicely setup, so it plays like a dream Sire Marcus Miller P5R/5: Neck: roasted maple Fingerboard: Rosewood Neck profile: C Scale: 34" (Long Scale) Fingerboard radius: 241 mm Nut width: 48 mm Bone nut 20 Medium small frets Pickups: Marcus Vintage-Fat Precision Revolution Split Coil Volume and Tone controls Tortoise pickguard Marcus Miller Vintage-S Bridge Chrome hardware Colour: Tobacco Sunburst Trades? - Possibly, and I’ll put cash in for the right bass. I actually want a 4 string P Bass and I’d even take a 4 string P5R if it’s in White, but Jazz Bass (4’s & 5’s), Ray34 etc, try me with what you have, but I’d prefer a sale Postage - Postage can be arranged anywhere in the U.K. for about £25. I’m including a Fender gigbag with the sale, so if you do need it posting it’ll be in a Gigbag and it’ll also be boxed with plenty of padding Etc so it will arrive safely Price: Reduced to £295 - An absolute steal for this price! PICS 👇 I’ll even throw in the matching Tort pick if you want it too! 😂
  22. Would you sell the board without power supply, and how much if so? Cheers
