  1. I’m all the way up in the North East - do you think this would be courier-able (if that’s a word!) Been after a 1 cab solution for every type of gig that’s pretty small - this ticks all the boxes and the Americans seem to rave about them, it’s just there’s no way I’d be able to collect it that’s all?
  2. Just weighed the bass on some luggage scales finally - 10.3lbs. Not a super light bass but not a boat anchor and it really doesn’t feel ridiculously heavy tbf, I’ve done a few gigs with it and it just feels like a normal 5 string bass
  3. Aguilar Tone Hammer preamp & DI with AGS gain system - absolutely fantastic preamp & hugely versatile with the AGS (just don’t think the AGS is a “boost” think of it more of an always on or always off feature) Bass @ 40hz, Parametric mids between 150hz - 1khz and Treble @ 4khz Great Nick - has been gigged but no damage or anything worth noting Priced to sell as I have my eye on something - if that goes I’ll withdraw this Reduced to £150 inc U.K delivery 😮
  4. I’ll weigh it later on when I’m back home & let you know, cheers
  5. WR Amplifying “Tube Emphasizer” DI & Preamp (£395 inc RM Special Delivery) For sale is my WR Goliath Preamp & DI. This is an absolutely fantastic, top tier, handmade Tube preamp - this is a proper Tube pre getting very close to the sound & feel of the Noble etc (there is a lot of talk/comparisons/sound clips on TalkBass about this, the Noble and other Tube ore’s & DI’s if you want to google it) This is leagues above tube pre’s like an EBS Valve Drive or Two Notes Le Bass etc, this is a preamp that you also feel on the strings as you play as well an immense tube sound which works great direct to FOH or just in front of your amp - Its a clean preamp however, not a high gain distortion type, but the sound is unreal I paid £500 in a deal with JoeABass for this is Feb (see his ad below👇 for more info) I’ve done a lot of gigs and some recording too with it, but I find I don’t like taking it out with me to a lot of places as I’m worried I worry it’ll get kicked/broken/drinks spilled on it etc, so I can’t justify having the money tied up in it at the moment, I am also looking to get a couple of things and I can’t afford to buy anything without selling first Basstheworld have done a couple of videos about it - the one I’m selling in the top end one (the Goliath Plus) with XLR out and Bypass switch. I’ll link the vids below, along with a sound demo done by someone else that showcases it pretty well It doesn’t come with its own power supply (just a generic 12v adapter bought from Amazon) however it works fine from my 12v slot on my TruTone power supply - the official power supply required is 12v DC @ 1 amp (1000 mA) but a standard 12v pedalboard power supply is fine It’s still in good condition, obviously it’s been gigged but it’s still working great and cosmetically in good nick I have done some serious hand wringing about selling this and about what to ask for it - I realise the market is pretty slow at the moment and so I have very much priced it to sell! I am taking a loss but everyone selling gear at the moment is doing so, I figure that if I buy something else it’ll probably be cheaper too at the mo, so it’s swings & roundabouts I guess! Price is £395 inc Special Delivery - to get one now like this would cost you €625 plus import duties plus shipping! Trades - Possibly but I’d prefer a cash sale, however bass-wise it’d be 5 string only - a Sadowsky MetroExpress 5, Yamaha PJ5 (bb735a/bb1025(/x) could possibly add cash) or a Jad Freer Capo (plus some cash your way), also I need a decent 4 Ohm cab 600-800w+ ideally a 210 or 212, or maybe another preamp pedal - it depends what it is but I’ll consider any offer just shoot me a message, I don’t mind and the worst I can say is no Thanks for Looking ✌️
  6. For sale is my really nice G&L Tribute L2500 - 5 String/Tobacco Sunburst The usual unique & extremely versatile L-Series preamp (treble roll off/bass roll off/treble boost/series-parallel switch/active-passive switch) and G&L MFD pickups which sound incredible - I’m sure if you’re looking at this advert you don’t need me to explain the features and virtues of the L2500 basses! This was in 9-9.5/10 condition until a week or two ago and it got knocked off it’s stand in a boisterous pub gig and so there’s a tiny chip out the finish by the front pickup and a couple of little marks where it’s taken the tumble - it’s really not much but I wouldn’t sell it without being upfront about it (and it’s reflected in the price!) Everything else about the bass is exceptional - it is setup superbly and plays really nicely, and the three distinct sounds you can get from this bass are really amazing Im selling a few things as I’m condensing down my gear but trade-wise I might take: (5 String Only) Sadowsky MetroExpress (PJ5 but maybe a JJ5), Jad Freer Capo (can add cash), Yamaha PJ5 (again, can add cash if needed if it’s a BB735/BB1025 etc), but my preference is a cash sale - also I need a decent (powerful but small ideally) 4 Ohm cab 600-800w(or more) a 210 or 212 would be perfect Shipping can be arranged - U.K. is about £25, and I’ll include a padded gig bag and obviously box it up etc *Reduced to £325*
  7. Providence Dual Bass Station 2 Channel Preamp - really high end fantastic quality Japanese made pedal Bought on here a couple months ago for using 2 diff basses but I no longer need it - HUGE amount of clean headroom - Really musical sounding EQ: Bass +-14db @ 60hz | Parametric Mids +-14db @ 150hz-1khz| Treble +-14db @ 3khz | Master Vol +-10db - Mute Switch - A/B Switch (Between input 1&2 if two instruments are plugged in or between EQ 1&2 if just one instrument) - Two Main Functions/Features: 1) Use 2 separate basses in the same gig with 2 separate EQ & Vol settings (i.e Fretted & Fretless, Flatwound P & Roundwound J etc) or 2) Use the same bass with two totally different EQ and Volume settings (such as Ch. A for normal playing and Ch. B with diff EQ for slap and/or a volume boost for soloing etc) - Comes Boxed with its own power supply. Some signs of use but still in great condition and working perfectly Reduced: £125 inc Postage *Please watch the video below 👇 for a really good demo of how it all works!* (Below specifications from the manufacturer's page) Selectable 2ch bass preamp The Dual Bass Station Bass Preamp features two inputs (A/B) and independent EQ-Masters for each input. When only “IN-A” is used, two different presets can be used by switching channels from A to B. EQ Section Both channels feature versatile 3-band equalizers that are ideal for use with a wide range of musical genres and playing styles. Furthermore, the mid range frequency has a parametric equalizer that helps create a sound with variety. 24 volt internal circuitry The internal circuitry is powered by a 24-volt supply, allowing the expressive dynamic range of bass guitar to come through with maximum impact and clarity. Overwhelming sound quality This unit is equipped with high quality components that are used solely for audio equipment to achieve ultra low noise (over S/N -95db (IHF A.W.T.D)) and low distortion rate (under 0.01%) for players that demand the best in their signal chain. Excellent operability The EQ's curved volume is specifically designed for linearity and usability.
  8. You are putting some really nice kit up for sale!
  9. My current setup, not much room for owt else at the moment tbf 😂 I forgot just how incredibly good the Tone Hammer is when used properly (i.e. setting up your whole sound with the AGS as part of it, and it’s always on - not as a second channel you can have on and off at different points of a gig) Once I realised that I’ve found it’s actually one of the most versatile and best sounding preamps there is. Goliath adds some massive fat tubey-ness to my sound, gratuitous and probably unnecessary but it sounds fantastic. Markbass Compressor is really good too, well impressed with it. Gonna get a Trickfish signal filter (LPF & HPF with makeup gain) to put at the end of the chain and probably a JDI after that, and I’m toying with the idea of a DCX Bass too, I might tidy it up as some point as well 😁
  10. Just bought Bassybert’s MarkBass Tube Compressor from him - really good transaction. I paid for it late-ish on Monday and it was in my hands by Wednesday morning. It came really well packaged, communication was spot on and the pedal is amazing 👌🏼 Five stars from me 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  11. Green/Morado is one of my favourite colours they do it looks absolutely class 👌🏼
  12. I really like a tone control/‘VTC’ and it’s a big gripe of mine on a lot of really decent active basses like my Lakland 55/02 that there isn’t one, so I think I’d get the upgraded preamp but I’ve not really read about or spoken to anyone who was either unhappy with the stock pickups or who changed the pickups and thought it was worth doing - in fact most people I’ve read about who’ve done it said there wasn’t a lot of point, unless you’re going for a totally different sound it seems pointless. Andy Irvine was saying how good his sounded with Nordstrand’s in but he’s a Nordstrand artist so I kinda discounted that opinion - I’d probably stick Nordstrands in too if they were free 😝
  13. Bought a Sadowsky preamp pedal from Gerry - next day delivery,’well packaged, great comms. Great stuff - happy to deal agakn anytime & would recommend to anyone
  14. Where do you keep pulling all these absolute worldies from?! I had just got over my 55-01 gas and I still look at your 55-60 advert most days 😂
  15. Lovely bass this - I got to play it the other day & it’s SO easy to play, the action is insanely low - you’ll not be disappointed
  16. https://www.bassbuddha.com/product/bass-mods-nps-nate-phillips-5/ All the stats for it are in there 👆 19mm/34” Scale
  17. Bloody hell you’re not joking about accumulating a ridiculous amount of pickups either are you?! 🤣 There’s a small fortune in them - I like those Nordy Fat Stacks, I was gonna get a Lakland 55-01 as a Mod project to stock something like those in but I never bothered, got me thinking again now…
  18. @Allaboutthebass Did you get anything? - If not I reckon this would be perfect for you! 😝😆 It’s a beast of a Jazz with pickups made for gospel 😉
  19. EDIT: Weight = 9.2lbs - decently light for a Fender V like this. There’s some real boat anchors out there but this isn’t one ⚖️ For sale is my candy apple red 5 string MIM 2000 Fender Jazz Deluxe. This is one from the Suhr era and has the amazing pickups designed by John Suhr with the fat single pole pieces - these are pickups with a ridiculous amount of articulation & low end and are a favourite of gospel players from over the pond It was active, but has been converted to passive, I was going to stick the preamp back on it but it sounds huge anyway and I didn’t really want to change the sound at all - but it does come with the Suhr preamp, it’s a bit battered, but it works and a couple of new knobs and you’ll be good to go (these Suhr preamps are always praised for how musical they are) The original preamp is the 4 knob deluxe so it does have a redundant I pot on the side of the body, as well as the working one on the control plate, however if you out the preamp back on (or something else that would fit like the Sadowsky or East Retro Deluxe) then you can wire it up again - I was going to do this but the sound of this passive is so good I didn’t want to alter it, and really enjoyed playing a passive J Its been professionally setup up with a nice low action (but not too low - it slaps extremely well), it’s been well gigged and has loads of mojo and a few chips around the edges (I’ve tried to capture in pics) nothing major but it’s no case Queen. Also comes with 3 spare scratchplates other than the cream one that’s on it - white Pearl, mint green & tort Price includes U.K. shipping with a fender gig bag. This is a really nice Jazz bass, both how it plays and how it sounds but I have a 5 string MTD Saratoga Jazz as well as a Lakland 55-02 which both cover me For all the jazz bass tones I need, but I need a PJ (looking at the Sadowsky MetroExpress or Yamaha 1024/5) and can’t afford to buy them until I shift something. Its a slow market at the moment, so I am pricing this as competitively as I possibly can - I think it’s an absolute bargain. You’re welcome to try it out if you’re in the North East (or want to travel here) you will not be disappointed IMO £500 collected or £535 (inc shipping & Fender gigbag)

  20. This is an unreal bass for £450!
  21. Does it have passive tone control when preamp is bypassed? Cheers
  22. You know what - about 20 mins after posting this I started going through a load of Northern Soul tunes I’m learning for Dep gigs (on my totally not a cliche sunburst P Bass with flats) and I flicked it to the tube only channel, drive to about 3.5 and thought ‘this actually sounds immense - what on earth extra do you want from it? If it said Noble on the box you’d be thinking it was tonal manna from heaven?!’ 🤣 I was playing through my Audio Technica studio headphones rather than a cab and I think I was way too fast to write it off! I’m gonna have to have a think!
  23. Withdrawing this - gonna gig it this weekend and make a final decision then - but apologies! Laney Digbeth 2 channel preamp & DI. Clean FET Channel and Tube Emulation channel (with separate adjustable drive) with a switch to either run it as 1) Tube channel only 2) Mix of Tube & clean (adjustable volume for each to taste) or 3) FET Clean channel only - this means you can have a clean sound as your basic sound and then use the tube channel as a ‘boost’ or just turn it on for certain sections (it basically works in the way that everyone wishes the Aguilar ToneHammer pedal/AGS worked!). Also has 4 band EQ with switchable low mids (so 6 diff frequencies but you can only use one of the low mids at a time) Took this in trade and I’m actually very impressed, however I have a genuine tube DI already and I just took it on the off chance the overdriven sound was specifically what I am looking for at the mo, and its not really. I’ve got no issues keeping it as it’s an incredibly versatile little pedal, and the overdriven sound is very very usable, but its not what I need right now and I’ve got a list of gear I’m after running close to 5 figures, so if it’s not on my board right now it’s up for sale. £80 posted 1st class recorded/£75 collected Comes in original box with printed manual
  24. You still got the DCX Bass mate?
