A superb gloss black lacquer is applied to the body but a natural wood maple / alder 'binding'
is left exposed around the edges.
When combined with the contrasting gold hardware the overall effect is stunning.

The graphite through-neck is set into a solid alder body which has an arched top.
A maple facing is bonded to the front face so we are able to leave the two-piece faux binding
on the outer edge of the body. The regular specifications of the Black Beauty includes two Status soap-bar pickups,
which power a 2-band EQ with variable frequency midrange and cut/flat/boost switch.

Individual mono-rail bridge / tuners are fitted and, in combination with our unique string retainer,
both single and double-ball strings can be used. The neck has a regular 34" scale with 24 medium / jumbo frets set into a black phenolic fingerboard.
All headless Status basses have the [url="http://www.status-graphite.com/status/frames/bendwell.html"]"BendWell"[/url] as a custom option. This is a medium (32") scale fingerboard with a scooped recess behind the top-nut which allows string bending and vibrato effects.

Standard string spacing is 19mm on the 4-string Status basses are supplied in a moulded Status hard case as standard.

    well i went sunday which was a lot quiter than saturday last year ! i was great to see my old friend Franc o'shea from BIm (and in bass mag), he gave me his Cd which if you like fretless jaco style and the top spanish guitarists then its a must (this it not one for the bass just sitting on the root notes!) also met Joe hubbard again (first met him in the 80s) he also gave me a CD which is fantastic. (i love the first track) I also walked in to a masterclass with a bloke playing dubstar?? which was amazing does anyone know his name, he seemed a top bloke and really knew his stuff! anyway role on next year!!

    hi, can any one help? I have a Korg G5 synth bass pedal which is really quite compered to my clean sound when bypassed by my bypass pedal? I can only have the input level really low but i put that down to my Status bass? So is there a way of boosting the power on my Korg g5 pedal?

    Hi, I have korg g5 synth bass pedal that fell out of my car last week! Even though it was in a flight case it now seems to have created a fault? The issue is that it does not turn off? It still works fine with all sounds work but when you press the bank pedal which is suppose to bypass the g5, it doesn't???? Anyone have any ideas or does anyone know anyone in the Brighton that repairs foot pedals?

    Hi, I have a Tc rh750, I'm trying to use my korg g5 with it but when I by pass it the level on the it still controled by the main input volume of the korg if connected into the effects loop??? I want my clear sound when not using the pedal? I thought by plugging in like this I wolud get my natural clean sound ?? Help please!!!!

    I have got a korg g5 synth bass and need to get some 80s synth patches out of it, like human league, pet shop boys, madonna etc, does any one know if there are any patch ideas on the net anywhere?? Then I can hopefully program them in???

    I'm trying get an effect pedal that makes my bass sound like a 80s synth bass sound , ie human league/pet shop boys/ madonna? Any ideas? Don't want to spend too much!!
