  1. I don’t. The preamp is a John East. Three band with the stacked mid pot (sweep between low and high with the bottom control then either cut or boost it with the top pot. Leave the top pot at centre dent an all mid control is totally bypassed so it’s now effectively a two band) the pick up is a Nordstrand Big Man. Quick google search will get you all the information you need
  2. I did not know that , my go to settings were bass, full. Mid centre dent. Treble just off the dent plus. No way of ever needed the bass fully open with the J.E pre amp. Lots of head room in all directions
  3. When I added the new pup to mine I added a three way toggle switch series/single/parallel works a treat !
  4. I’m a shameless Stingray fan boy, love mine, although I do admit to tampering with them, not something to post on the EBMM forum but it goes something like this; The blue one (was/is sunburst under the blue) and was pretty rough from head to toe when I got it but picked it up very cheap when I was in America. The pre amp was playing up so rather than get a genuine replacement part I went down the John East route, I can still get classic stingray tones out of it but with the added bonus of lots more of everything in all directions! While I was at it I changed the pickup for a Nordstrand BigMan. They are twice as thick as a standard one. The whole thing is very loud I’m constantly pulling it back. Loved it so much I did exactly the same thing to the cream one ! (All original parts are safely stored away just incace but as far as the blue one goes, SunBlue, it’s death do us part on that one!)
  5. Just got around to watching this. Nice one thank you
  6. Agreed. Got a couple of Darkglass pedals on my board and think it’s great that that’s what they specialised in doing, adding filters effects to the product list would sort of ruin it. There are plenty of other companies taking care of that end of business
  7. I Velcro and cable tie my pedals down. Zero movement
  8. The early passive SUB is a great bass, nice one
  9. This was/is/might be my next move, make them up myself
  10. Just a random post to ask/see what patch cables you use and why you chose them ? I’m using the Daddario solderless kit. (I’m after a couple of ft of cable if anyone has any spare they are willing to part with) but I’ve been looking at making my own, pancake jacks with Van Damme cable solderless vs soldier do you notice any audible difference?
  11. Totally agree with you there. My StingRay,s are Eb and my Jazz is 440E (acoustic goes between the two, Eb as it is at min) and you can never have enough basses 😜
  12. Totally agree. Long turned the job down. I play E standard in a cover band and Eb in an original band. The lowest I’ve ever need to go had been D standard but that was just to do with vocals. I’ve tuned BEAD a few times for various projects. Can’t think of anything else I’d ever need

    FX help

Lot of bang for your £ with this one
  14. Sorry can’t be of any help on this. I’ve only just brought one and unfortunately not had the opportunity to take it out the house and wind it up properly yet. What are your rough settings? Was the problem still there with the blend control fully open/shut ?
  15. StingRay love. Cannot beat it. Nice one 👍
  16. Yup. Most bands do hence the question, why would you even want to go that low even if it’s possible
  17. On another note does anyone know how many mA the Markbass octaver is pulling ? Can’t find anything on the site apart from 9-12volts
  18. I was contemplating the EHX POG of some description but only ever head bad things about them, bad being used on bass anyways. Digital pedal it’s going to be more accurate with the tracking but for that you sacrifice substance to the sound ?
  19. That makes sense. Only ever had one synth pedal and couldn’t find a construct use for it so moved it on. Definitely got no plans to get rid of my MB Octaver anyways. It’s a keeper!
  20. I’ve been using this for a few years now. Discontinued now I believe (don’t know why so feel free to explain) but I’m quite happy with it. Tracks a lot better since I moved my Thumpinator in front of it
  21. Definitely very important. The 2 band has a very distinctive sound to it, very classic tone. The 3 band had a mid control that either cuts or boosts mids, unlike the 2band all three controls have a center dent
  22. Is that 6x15inch speakers? Excuse me being thick. I use 1x15 & 4x10 btw
