1.
I didn't think it had a hold function? That would do for tap tempo I think
You are correct, just had a look an there is an input marked "Tap Tempo" what is it for ? got a rough idea but not to sure. (Marshall Eco-Head if you are familiar with the effect)
2. Just a quick question. I'm currently using a Marshall Eco-Head Delay , just wondering what kind of expression pedal would be good to go with it, what type etc Was thinking this could be used like a hold function maby ? Seen this on the bay : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT thanks in advance.
3. Ibanez SR300 it is then
4. Bright, disgusting, Barbi pink noooooo But all the examples that Ive seen in this thread all look like tasteful shades of pink an look good
5. Hi all, didn't no ware the best place to put this was but its just a quick question. Does anybody no of any software (I'm not that computer literate but guess it has to exist) that i can load audio file into, off a CD then slow it down ? Managed fine with out it for years but could be handy (will most defiantly be handy ) Put a song into it, slow it down, figure out the bass line, improve timing etc Thanks in advance.
6. Highly likely to be a Lined finger board. (lines drawn on ware the frets should be)
7.
its like dating!
Kind of, except your bass will always make you smile LOL Even when you find one you like (a bass that is) theres always another one that you want, an thers nothing wrong with that !!!
8. I'm currently using a "Marshall Eco-Head" as my main delay, there is no hold function on it and i got rid of my Boss DD3 some time ago so just this week brought one of these : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-DD400-Digi...=item20b1247292 The build quality of them being plastic, an the blue LED light on it is so bright i was seeing yellow spots for 10mins after first plugging it in (thats not a joke). But that aside for less than £30 new it actually is a really nice sounding pedal and does far more than i need it to do, check one out if you get a chance , if you can look past the name it does sound pretty good.
9.
You know it! Maybe I should just buy this jacket instead... it'll be cheaper. EDIT: Should still go nicely with my Oly P...
It would make a nice accessory when you do get the bass, (boots and hat as standard)
10. I use an "Electro Harmonics, Octave multiplexer", i find that tracks pretty well up to about A on the E string, but as mentioned in here earlier, never need to go that low with it so all is good .
11. Compression is something that you can go on about talking about forever, confuses me :s have a read here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=337
12. Ive tried all different types of Velcro and even used cable ties but find these to be a god send, They look like a link of a chain, using the existing screws on the place of the bottom of your effect attach it then self tapper it to your board an the effect is going no ware ! , looks neat and doesn't leave Velcro glue on your pedal if you decide to move it. looks a bit like tis fitted : Cheep an effective, (less than £4 for enough of them for 9 effects) heres a link if you want to take a look http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...821abd39da9b6c1

15.
Infact, I've just figured out I could spend more on an amp. I'm probably getting the RBX374 as it's cheaper, and sounded just as good as the BB414, and looked better IMO. I can spend about £178 on an amp. xD How's THIS? Also, Yeah I'm still torn between a few basses, i'll see what's happening at the time.
That's more than enough for home use Gets my vote
16.
Here's my beefed up one...
That is brilliant!!! (its one of those "why didn't i think of that ???) Very nice one!!
17. Buying used / secondhand gear is prob the best way to go, you will get a LOT more bass for you money, there is nothing worse than learning on something that is badly set up, sounds and feels nasty, just cause its shiny and new so there for it must be good. With buying used (especially off a forum like this) the odds are that its been owned an played by a player who is enthusiastic about what there doing an the odds that he/she wasn't even the first owner of it in the first place. Decent stuff is never relay owned by anybody, you buy it, play it, look after it an move it on to the next owner, the better the quality of the instrument in the first place the longer the life of it (if i was wrong why do vintage guitars & basses sell for silly amounts of money when in effect there old an worn out ?? i think not) but we are not talking vintage or even pro gear but for the new budget you have of £400 you have just opened up a new door of options, and as a bonus a used bass thats a couple of years old, seen i few gigs, is played in an sounding good, say you decide that 6months down the line you don't want to play anymore then wen you come to sell it on expect to get back pretty much what you payed for it initially. In other words you wont loose anything on it might even make a few quid on it when you sell it.
18. Finding a spar neck off eBay for your Jazz might be a good idea, keeping your original neck untouched in case you ever want to put it back to how it was, if you cant find a fret-less neck its not that big a job to de-fret yourself, i did a de-fret on my Aria a while ago and am quite pleased with how it turned out . I'm not that confident as a fret-less player so the filled in lines left by the frets along with the fret markers are an added bonus (a purposely lined finger board would be ideal).
19. I sure wouldn't say no to one ! Tone machine !!
20. MK3.... Had to make another board to fit everything on it how i wanted it but its defiantly starting to get there with the new addition of the CryBaby an limiter I'm having some great fun with it ! Not the best of pictures, but also made a case for the whole thing out of an old rectangular bass case, just cut it down a bit
21. Sent me some Rickenbacker graphics, More than i needed at NO charge and even payed the postage !!! Genuine nice bloke to deal with Very big thank you

24.
Well check out my mock up draft of the Bongo I designed in photoshop... if I was going to do it right, it would have looked the bollox
That looks the business!!! More/bigger black spots on a silver background rather than white yeah that defiantly has novelty value thats for sure (one of them crazy idea's that you would never of thought about) But perfect for playing "Mootown" style music with
