I’ll look it up 👍

@paul_5 thanks. I’ve had one in the past and might just revisit. @SumOne Small Clone, I’m thinking I should be looking at getting another. At the moment I’ve got the MXR Chorus Deluxe in my board (and the boss I’ve got as a spare) the cross over is a must for most things with the less is more attitude so that will stay. In short it’s full on 80s cheese chorus that I’m after for lack of better description. I’ll look into the Gemini. Cheers both

So I finally got one and I’m not sure if I like it or not. There are some great useable sounds to be had out of it but not the sound in my head right at this moment, but there is a lot going on with it so will be spending more time with it before it gets saved for later. 80s post punk, goth heavy chorus+reverb+flanger kind of thing is what I’m after...... Can I have some suggestions please

I’ve got a couple of interesting pick guards on other stingrays but this bass matte black will look great. And i just really don’t like this one that’s on it
-
Lol I’ve been pretty good tbh, I didn’t think it was possible to be happy with a finished board or even if finished should be a word associated with pedal boards but I’ve been pretty happy with my set up for a good while now so....... slightly worried lol Photo of current board cause why not 😛

@Deedee inspired by your single ply matte black pg I have ordered one for my SR4HH. Mines an older bass, 06, in sapphire black, it’s got a snake skin looking thing on it at the moment that I’ve been assured is original but not my thing. I’ll put some before after photos up when it arrives but if it looks anything like what it looks like in my head then I’m impressed already

Been after a Sea Machine for ages, it’s not made it to the board just yet as I’ve got a few more bits to acquire but looking forward to the annual strip down and rebuild ritual that’s brewing

You would think larger feet to give you ground clearance would come as standard on a small board or at least sell them as an extra.. I used various nuts n bolts on mine to make adjustable legs but I was grafting together two Nano+ at the time 😛

This one is surprisingly easy to play. It’s exactly the same neck as the four string version, (it’s exactly the same bass as the four string version just different bridge and machine head holes, the extra four octave strings have just been squeezed in there) personality I don’t think it feel awkward at all unlike some I’ve tried and I’ve tried a fair few. Octave pedals are great, not tried the one you mentioned.

Ok thank you I will look them up Did you just remove/bypass the preamp and set it up passive with the original pickups ?

So what are people’s favourite upgrades regarding pickups and pre amps? I Have just fitted the new machine heads. Bit of filing required but it’s staying in tune now so all good on that front
-
Good morning Spector fans. Recent NBD here. In short im looking for upgrade suggestions regarding the stock pickups and tonepump jr. Looking for something smoother with no distortion
-
That’s a brand new battery, fist thing I did was put a new one in. From what I’ve read that’s just the nature of that pre amp

Hi all. I’m totally new to the world of Spector, I’ve been after an 8 string for a while and this was about the best of the lot in my opinion (in this price bracket and what I’ve personally seen anyway).it’s only a base model I’m guessing. I brought it new, given it a good set up and it’s playing lovely now, the machine heads let it down but that’s soon remedied (new Wilkinson’s in the post) but anyways...... the Tonepump. It’s a bit ??..... hot. Open the volume just ever so slightly and it’s boomy and starting to break up on 1. Bass and tone pots all the way off. It’s possible to get a nice tone but takes some fiddling and completely new amp settings. I’ve done a bit of reading on here and some useful reading. I was hoping I could adjust the gain on it with the rim pot but it doesn’t seem to have one, or I’m looking in wrong place. It looks like a hole has been drilled in the top.. there is no screw in there I’ve had a poke! any suggestions? cheers Dan

The rear pickup Ona HH is in exactly the same spot as the single H on a stingray so yes you can get the single H sound out of a HH The Bongo on the other hand is different positions so in that case it’s no.

Not the best of photos as in photography but it’s hard work getting them all in the same room with out falling out. 😜
-
Got them on two of my SR’s. you won’t regret it. Brilliant pre amps

No it’s Firemist Purple. Not really a big fan of sparkle finishes.

Ordered this yesterday. Just waiting for it to arrive 😜 better photos to follow

Have you found a buyer for it yet ?

QUICK POLL: Terminology smackdown - Pickguard or Scratchplate?
danny-79 replied to wateroftyne's topic in Bass Guitars
Can’t believe I don’t know lol 😂 Both. Maybe scratch plate if it’s part of the assembly (strat for example) and pick guard if it’s not (like acoustic guitar) no right or wrong answer and I honestly don’t know what I use the most -
Brilliant Bass. Very collectible
