1. I personally have two, but my dad plays bass and I'm only 14 so have 24 hour accsess to his many basses
2. Sometimes it is played ADGC, but on the other hand sometimes it is EADG. I found that out at first but then watched some other videos on youtube and found some in EADG
3. I think it should be done as an option, but I'm guessing from what you lot are saying i shouldn't be admitting it...?
4.
3. Get a teacher! I've been playing for 18 months now. I hit a wall around Xmas, looked about, found a guy young enough to be my son but he knows what he's doing, and my technique has improved with astonishing speed
Same happened to me, I was going nowhere but then I got a bass teacher, and now I am a hell of a lot better than I was before.
5. Dood, that is one seriously nice bass! And I don't normally like single cuts.
6. Yes, I am using those fingers. And thanks for that, I think it will be a lot of help. I hadn't tried doing it one finger at a time, I hope it works.
7. One of my friends has one of those. We have fun on non uniform day at school
8. Try some Stranglers. I'd qualify JJ Burnell basslines as intermediate. But then, I listen to Blink 182. So it really depends on what you're classing as intermediate and easy.
9. In my old band, Psychedellic Scream, we all had to wear black t shirts.
10. The JJ Burnell... I've read the specs and stuff, but all in all its just a P Bass really isn't it? Please correct my if I'm wrong, but doesn't that cost a hell of a lot more than going out and buying a Fender P bass for pretty much the same? But on the other hand, it is a cool bass. JJ Burnell is an excellent bass player, too. I love the sound he has on Peaches.
11. Thanks for that! Its been a help, but I'm still having problems with it. For a start I'm struggling to fret the note with one finger and play harmonics with another, i seem to only be able to do one or the other. Can I solve that by just practising or is there something I need to do to solve that?
12. I try not to use open strings because my bass teacher thinks its better not to, but he has never said "don't use open strings". he just says that you should try not to just in case you have to change position, for instance, but its ok to use them if you find whatever you're playing easier that way.
13. I don't think I've ever seen your seven string dood. Any pics?
14. OK, new problem. Halfway through victor wooten starts playing chords. They have the root as a normal note then the fifth and octave as harmonics. How would I go about playing these? Is the only reason I can't do it without muting the harmoincs that my 14 year old fingers are too small? Also, thanks for the help with my last problem, I can now play the amazing grace bit.
15. no problem, found it
16. is it between the second and third frets or the third and fourth?
17. o, ok. so its slightly higher than the third fret? I'll go try it now.
18. Ok, I'm trying to lear amazing grace by victor wooten. I'll never be able to play it properly but I'm bored and i fance a challenge. On all of the tabs I see for it, there is a harmonic note 3.2 If anyone knows how I would play that, please help me out here. Its not good trying to learn a song and getting stuck on the second bar. Heres the link to the tab I'm using, but there are many more similar tabs on the internet all using the 3.2 harmonics: Amazing Grace EDIT: I've got a new problem now, I've written about it below
19. Sorted... somehow... I didn't do anything (as far as I know) but its not doing it any more! I'll tell you if it starts happening again.
20. Ok, I have no idea what kind of jack it is, but its the same as on a Jazz Bass, and what you said Neepheid, i didn't understand a word of it (I'm sorry, but i really don't have a clue about the electronics in a bass). The battery is fine, i changed it about a week ago
21. Aren't they availbale in UK? They aren't in Fender Frontline or on fender.co.uk and I've never seen it before. Quite a cool bass though
22. sorry, do they not deliver to the US?
23. it depends on the colour you get it in in my opinion. i can't tell a difference in tone on any bass i've ever played, and your fingers don't actually touch the fretboard when you play, so it doesnt feel any different. so i'd just choose whichever one looks best, because you have to be happy with looks as well as the way it sounds
24. nice! £350? that's really cheap!
25. nice basses, especially the ricky
